My 21 year old only son died 3 months after home from Iraq.PTSS??? Chemical exposure??? many coming home and dying...he was front line..his company song was This is war..smile empty soul...My song after his death Mr Red White and Blue..ur heart to our heroes so thankful and touching..many thought they were just a statistic but Americans like you and Toby Keith show them their sacrifice not in vain

I'm a Marine Corps combat veteran. Served in Vietnam 1967-68. Got wounded inside and out. The outside healed, not my inside. I will never forget all the shit I've seen, and how many of my buddies never made it back. At times I'm very depressed, nobody to talk to, since I don't have any family. The VA is of no help to me. So life sucks, after all these years. Some days I sit here and just cry like a baby. I'm ready for the lord to take me.

First and foremost I do love the song (since I don't listen to modern country its amazing that I came across this song). Secondly this is one of my worst fears. You see my eldest daughter is an US Airman (and a single mom to a beautiful 2yr; not that that is important or anything). As each day passes and war seems imminent my fear for not just her but for ALL of our soldiers grows. Psalm 91 has become my mantra and my prayer. God bless you and your beautiful family....
