Carry spare fuel filters, if you don't see rough weather much and get in the chop all the crap in the bottom of the tank can get chucked up into the lines. Happy sailing😁
Rik: thanks for your comments. I have spent time on GB 49's 42's and a 36. The larger the boat the better the ride. For the conditions shown (1 -3 meters and 15-25 knots) a 36 would make me seasick and a 42 would be uncomfortable. The 49 was smooth and had an almost pleasant motion. It did not feel "tippy" at all. For N.W coast and into Alaska its hard to beat a Grand Banks in my opinion. Call up Northwest Explorations or visit their website for more info. They run Grand Banks tours up to Ak.
No stabilizers. Generally the boat has a slow relatively comfortable motion in rough seas. I have heard stabiizers do improve the ride but at the cost of additional expense and maintanence. They also tend to pick up kelp and old nets and fishing lines.
