Would love to see Saina Nehwal. I never heard her speaking openly, freely. She was the first women to burst on scene and win international medals. Please get her.
I was a huge fan of Saina… then I started to notice jealousy in her attitude towards Sindhu. I remember during 2020 Olympic, Saina used to congratulate every medal winner on her Facebook account. She didn’t do the same when Sindhu won it.. later on I could find the same pattern afterwards as well..
I still respect her, but definitely the respect has reduced.
@@kaushald31 it's okay.
@@kaushald31definitely jealously occurs when one downfall comes in career due to age factor in badminton and our compatriots achieve new heights. Still Saina will be Saina, she has definitely brought a revolution in Indian Youth

important fact that she missed is the school structure difference. Countries like China, U.S.A, Russia has a professional sporting setup in their schools. That setup nurtures and strengthens the basics of the players and those exceptional then join specialised academies. This is why those countries has so many high level players. In India there is no sports culture in schools and players like Sindhu and Lakshay Sen are made by private academies which not everyone can afford.
100% truth.
True brother
Let's also not forget the diet culture. It's not only the Chinese but every other country compared to india.
Hyderbad has Pulla gopi chand academy .,he left after tasting success .Dont blame on India and Infra structure .,she is trying to take excuses and don't fall for that .Every one in Andhra Knows that ,
The chinese invincibility was created mainly from 2006-2012 due to the man in your thumbnail Lin Dan the way he dominated the badminton circuit for those 6 years made a lot of young boys fall in love and try the game. His legendary rivalry with Lee Chong wei and that fact that he came out on top of it most of the times added to his legend . he was the main reason that created this hype
China has been dominating olympics since the 1990s. Lin dan was not the reason
@@reardelt china was dominating but were not invincible until lin dan came
@@facthub9964 China was not dominating. China was crushing India. China won 50x more medals than India in the 90s
Missing the era of li dan and LCW❤
Lin Dan is gifted not because he is Chinese but because he is. born champion. In sport terms complete player who has the 3 most important qualities unbelievable physical fitness(his wrist and stamina), mind (great strategic mind), dedication and longevity(constant improvement and adaptation to his own game). Many greats were there but missing one. LCW mentality. Taufi dedication. So LD is unique, a true legend.
What Sindhu said is accurate. China does have a large pedigree of top players which is due to good coaches and support from their government. India can and should also do the same. Indian badminton players are now coming out slowly into the world top rankings. Chinese badminton players are beatable, at the moment I feel the it’s quite balance right now.
Chinese women currently are weaker I feel, in the men's the Chinese are still strong though not as in the 2000s. Table Tennis on the other hand is Chinese domination
@@liveenjoy6821 you don’t need to be strong, you just need the skills. Sindhu has the skills and I’m pretty sure she’ll be floating in the women’s top ten for a while. I don’t think the Chinese women got worse, I think competition got stronger…
@@liveenjoy6821I think skill matters more than the strength in case of badminton.
@@kevinclasher3160 in my opinion talent comes in "waves" or "cycles".. every so often you get a round of very high level players.. then even on the rare chance you get like a generational type of player which sways your perception of a countries dominance.. To think countries get consistent generational types of players is naive.. when they don't have one you start question why they aren't as good anymore..
Sindhu should start an academy as a foundation to develop new talents. She has tonnes of skills and experience that can be passed along, otherwise it would be lost as India does not have a support system like China.
Why are you even asking this question? Just look at the Olympic medal count for India. India is not a sporting nation. China started focusing on sport because Mao told them to do so in the 1960s as he saw that a nation can't be great if it isn't great in the sporting arena.
In sports there will be no athelete like Lin Dan not because he is Chinese but because of his consistency.. 2 Olympic Gold medal , world champ several times, all England champ, won almost all open tournament..

Very true. Thousand top notch Chinese competing among themselves and the ones who come out on top must be very good. Another thing, Chinese are mentally very strong, in any sport. WE are slowly picking up that attitude.
But till beating the Chinese team is still the achievement. Doesn't matter if they are a new pair or a debut single player. They are still perceived as the toughest team to beat
Especially in mixed doubles that pair is the final boss .....almost undefeatable india is clearly lacking in mixed and women's doubles since ages now ....
So to make it sound more relatable, as Cricket is to India, Racket sports (Badminton, Table Tennis etc.) are to China, wherein the scenes are so competitive that the layer that emerges on the top is simply formidable!
She is a Pride of Indian Badminton - World Champion and Olympic Silver and Bronze Medalist
india has less players because of the favouritism that happens in coaching centres… our country has so much potential to create great players in large numbers in every sport but it is not harnessed… sifarish se train kiye jaate hain players
She's always an Inspiring Person...
Chinese have badminton played by everyone. They play like we do gali cricket. Largest population and few place in tournaments so high competition since old times have produced finest athletes - Lin Dan is GOAT also because of legacy he owned from Chinas great badminton history. So is with other athletes.
Chinese athlete dominated badminton for long time along with Indonesia because of legacy and culture of badminton rooted there
She just lied- Chinese player are not good because they have good coaches but because of there elite mentality and giving chances to right person at right time without politicising it.

Her main problem is marin .... question should be about her not chinese ....
In Chinese, there are 4 major sports of interest: swimming, table tennis, badminton, and shooting/archery.
You forgot weightlifting and archery is not a major sport in china and neither Chinese do good at it.
Archery belongs to Korea. Swimming belongs to USA/Australia

true,,, she seems arrogant to me... no doubt chinese are good so instead of praising herslef she could have point out what makes them good which india should also follow
She is absolutely right about n number of Chinese players. I’m seeing Indian players now too but the competition is not as fierce.
92 Olympic Medals by the Chinese! India: 5 Olympic medals! Is there a question? 🇨🇦
Chinese , Korean , Indonesian players have unique body......their body itself very slim and flexible......this helps in quick movements.......quick reflex..
Players from Denmark and South Korea won paris olympics men's and women's singles titles respectively. So it is the preparedness especially mental calmness which decides the winner. HOLDING THE NERVES.
On a average China wins 3 out of 5 golds in badminton and 5 out of 5 golds in Table tennis.
Only few knows how competitive badminton is in India. It has never been one sindhu. When we say Chinese are unbeatable, they actually are. If we talk about the fact that they lose 2 3 matches out of 100 they win, that doesn't mean chinese are beatable easily. She sounds like oh It's very easy to beat any Chinese player. Look at the legacy of lin dan, chen long. Even indians supported them coz they saw the skills that theu can never see in sindhu and saina. It has been the reality and face it, Chinese are unbeatable.
When we talk about Chinese being 'beatable' it means they will lose 2,3 matches out of 10,the Chinese domination in badminton is no way near to what it was in 2000s or early 2010s,how many golds, silver have they won in 2024 Olympics,as per your statement they should have won atleast 2 golds in badminton if not more,Chinese are definitely beatable now,and as far as legacy is concerned,Indonesia had taufeeq hidayat and Malaysia had Lee Chong wei and prior to Chinese, Indonesians dominated badminton,so Sindhu is correct in what she said,Chinese are beatable in badminton 'NOW'

Government and most importantly We the people of India should focus on sports other than cricket. Cause more than half of India's population are interested in only cricket. On Instagram, Most Indian cricketer's fanpage got more likes and comments than other sports player official account. That is one of the thing which shows why we are way back in competing compared to Chinese or any other country.

Chinese are good in all disciplines of badminton like men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles and they reach final at Olympics in all these events. India doesn’t even have one good WD and XD pair. In MD, we only have Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. After Saina and Sindhu there are no one in women’s singles

Indian badminton has two world champions in last 5 years though
@@Batega_Toh_Katega--HINDU India won one world cup in pre ipl era and one after that. What's your point? Kuch bhi bolta rehta hai online kya
though i agree with Sindhu, i think she also missed a lot. The main asset of chinese players is their mindset. How many times have we seen lin dan or chen long win clutch points and matches (even the womens gold in olympics was won by china). its not as if they are ranked no.1 for the whole year but they win when it matters most. its the champion mentality that sets them apart. they dont play bcoz they just like the sport, thats just the beginning. they play to win.
If chinese are so easily beatable why cant you beat them so many times? Where is your form for the last few years ? Where is the Sindhu we love so much? Why did you break ties with our beloved coach Park ? You were in your best form under him, you won your Olympic medals under him, and you thought he has nothing more to teach you ? Your form has gone from bad to worse... and its your arrogance and attitude that 's the problem now ... Chinese players have nerves of steel, Carolina Marin too has that, performing under extreme pressure , coming back from losing games and still winning thats what makes them unbeatable the proper attitude and less ego
China having a large pedigree of top players allows them to have top level practice sessions .
India and other countries don;t have that luxury as only a few top players dominate the national scene for long periods .
and here i am eating butter chicken. It's not Chinese , it's China when referencing a country.
Chinese players dominated the 2008 Olympics
I don't thik she caught the essence of the question. Chinese are feared in table tennis as well. Pure dominance there
China may have many players but what we look is the Attitude. Sindhu says Chinese are beatable but in a 10 match 1or 2 time. Look at how many coaches Sindhu changed during last 2-3 years. It's her attitude that makes her weak. Take top 5 women's singles players and they are consistent, they don't change coaches. Sindhu needs to be grounded and focus else within short span she will be out, Badminton is such kind of a game
Sindhu has 9-0 record against Chinese players in badminton majors. In only 1 out of 9 games, she lost a set.
@@noobgamer-xl3jk Check her stat against the current top players. When she entered the circuit lots of top Chinese players were on the last leg of their career. She has a stiff court movement. She need to stop juggling between coaches and recoupe.

This might be true for Table Tennis certanly not in Badminton. Men's Singles didn't have a single Chinese player in semifinals of Olympics. Women's Singles would have been Marin vs An Se if not for injury. Chinese are another level in Women's doubles/Mixed doubles. Men's doubles is really close now and top 5-6 can beat anyone on their day
Personally I would say there is no shame in losing to Chinese players, and Sindhu is perhaps showcasing more bravado than practical. Sindhu did touched the right topic but left out some important things.. The Chinese badminton team has always been strong, even going back all the way to the 1980’s, and while there have been ups and downs in number of medals/ tournaments etc., they have stayed fairly consistent. This is possible only when the players are given chance to play against other equally good or better players.. for example, Lin Dan’s training partners have been Xia Xunze, Chen Hong, Chen Long, Chen Jin, Bao Chunlai, and the list goes on and on.. All of these players are either World Champion winners or All England or Olympic medallists. I am very sure that without this sort of a roster it is next to impossible to have winning teams. Similarly in Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Women singles. This is only possible when we move away from a ‘ Star player’ approach to a system based approach, which of course is never going to happen in India. Because it is so much easier to just worship a Sindhu or Saina or Sachin without actually thinking to improve the system as a whole.
Same like cricket... there are 20 million cricket players in India
Its a Chinese Olympic Factory !!
We only Play Cricket and in the next 10 years, all teams have only Indians so basically Cricket will be Indians playing Indians....
more than china , the danes have dominated the sports of badminton .Ranvir and his team does not even do much research it seems . Also , Badminton first started in Pune , British India .
need more badminton player
Did not actually answer the pertinent question…and thats the reason India will only have 1 Sindhu, 1 Saina, 1 srikanth….Once they truly understand what sets the Chinese apart, that’s when Indian players will become true Champions.
a country needs lots of good players ( junior , pro, semi-pro, recreational ) to sharpen each other's skills. in the bible , there is a saying "iron sharpens iron" . Another front is availability + affordability of the sport . This is where the government can help. Are there enough sport arenas ( multipurpose indoor arena not just for badminton ) ? Are there enough local competitions ? ... etc . The problem is not just about beating the Chinese , but to be world no. 1 talent pool .
The first people to beat the Chinese were the Danes in Singles and Indonesians in doubles.
The Chinese came later, it was the Indonesians, British and Malaysians who were dominating Badminton
Chinese focus on their sports and don't do political or social commentary. Sindhu has lost her focus long time ago. This was her last olympics. Was a fan of her till 2020 , not anymore.
