I thought most of the Sabres were re-engined with diesel power packs. Great beast, cobbled together out of a fox turret, scorpion body and chieftain TOGS.
Yes... you are correct most were. But some were retired before that happened.... this is one of those. Regards Paul
What licence allows you to drive this?

On a different note , remember back in the day driving a 432 around Salisbury city one way system on a track run .....Salisbury at the time was out of bounds to tracks ...parted the traffic like the Red Sea lol . Great video Paul . 👍
sorry for the slightly late reply... but thanks for your comment. Regards Paul

what kind of permit do you need, I live in Louisiana, U.S., I think it's radical.
Jacob Albert no special permit required. The weapons are deactivated. There is a basic driving test for tracked vehicles and that's it. No restrictions on where you can drive.... although in the current climate I wouldn't recommend going near an airport or military facility. Vehicle has to have rubber track pads, lights etc. 😎👍
Paul. Younare nuts. Please take this as a compliment!
lol... I have to agree with.... long may it continue 😎👍 and thanks ... much appreciated ! this was my first Tank and the one I passed my Tracked vehicle test in.... ua-cam.com/video/nlBbIstLVDo/v-deo.html
I'm a french welder and will actually build a tank like this one, can you help me about the legislation you you got yours and let it use ? or any driving or technical tips? I already modelised the whole hull and turret and the tracks and transmission system
If I saw that coming down my street I would be thinking DOPE RAID

America: We need our guns encase we need to topple the government!
Britain: Ok you can't have guns but you can have tanks
Communist_Penguin lol... It's a crazy world. Cheers Paul 😎
We have tanks too.
@@Stal.008 yeah but you need a permit
In UK you just need a driving license and a lot of money, it does have to have things like rubber wheel pad things to protect the road and lights, oh and of course it has to fit in a single Lane but most of the ones you find are already made road legal
@@Xighor you dont need a permit, its like buying any other vehicle

Rough number of times you have been pulled over in any of these tanks? Lol
ohy remarkably Never..! We suspect that either the police think that if you driving such an obviously weird vehicle on the road you must be legal or they don't want all the paperwork if you're not ! Lol. Paul
Haha yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the quick reply
Brilliant!! what is the insurance on one, think I need one for the school run.
Paul Donovan I remember an article in a Military Vehicle magazine about a guy who owned a T34/85 Russian tank and drove it on the road with the steel tracks. He used to get pulled all the time and lectured on the illegality of driving the tank on the road, where upon he would pull out his Chief Superintendent’s hat for the motorway police and proceeded to lecture the other cop on “track area and ground” pressure” and how the only relevant law is that if you damage the road, you pay for the repairs!
That thing is loud as fuck. I'm sure the neighbors love you lol
Hey ... only just read your message. They do !!! lol .. Cheers Paul

Hi dope boy..... great fun !! cheers Paul
hi there guys, could I say that you are living my dream. when I first heard that the army was selling these tanks, I really wanted one, but in reality, could never own one..
when I saw your videos, I had to sub you. I love what you've done with it, how much you look after it and best of all, drive it. I would love to see it in the flesh, for a touchy feely, and a look inside it. I'm sooooo glad, there are people like you, who love and cherish all the different types of vehicles, my favourite is my 1973 suzuki GT250K candy apple green.
I had the very first one in Northern Ireland on my 17 th birthday.
could I ask, why did you stop so frequently, is it something to do with the tank, or just letting the public have a better look.
anyoldhoo, keep the cameras rolling. awesome vehicle. 😀 👍 👍 👍 👍
Mikey... I liked the GT250K ... I had a 1972 T250J in around 1975.... great bike.... hopefully if this link works you can see me on it !! facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10204280939646961&l=b87a1cc6dd
Glad you like the CVRT Sabre video.... Its always an Adrenalin rush to drive it on the road !! You are more than welcome to come and caress it anytime... so if ever you are over this way get in touch !!
All the stops were to let my mate Steve, the cameraman, off to shoot video of me racing past.... then stopping to let him back on board.. lol The locals seemed to love it.... if it brings a smile to a few peoples faces then its all worthwhile. Take Care Paul
Paul Donovan did u see 2 lads on bmx bikes?
Jolly Ollie can't remember seeing them.... are you / they in the video.?
Paul Donovan me and my mate where coming up the hill by co-op in charford and saw with camera and then realised it was the one from the house just up the hill with the green Land Rover we must of just bean edited out for the film when you drove past
what a fantastic video very fast
Thank you Michael. It certainly is surprisingly quick.! Regards Paul
5:58. You didn't indicate mate. ;)
Beautiful job restoring it, really looks like it was just off the assembly line. It is amazing how nimble and fast it preforms. Modern CVRTs as far as I know are really big comparatively.

In Britain you can legally buy and drive on the roads any ex-army vehicle as long as the actual gun/cannon is decommissioned.

Imagine how much more fun it could be with a full size tank like an Abrams, Centurian or even better, a Tiger?
Anyway, the Bible says something about me covettig my neighbour's tank. Maybe if I save enough money I can get a Brengun carrier?

@@PaulDonovan I shall thank you. Is it anything like Rowan Atkinson's Mini getting destroyed. Just kidding, perhaps I should look first. Thank you sir. In fact I shall do that right now.
@@PaulDonovan just viewed it. Stupid me. I forgot caravan equals camper trailer in Canadian.
My first guess would be Bovington but there wasn't BN enough other tanks around. Now Bovington is a place I'd dearly love to visit. In my younger years my father was a bandsman in the RCDs. I recall the band playing as the Centurians roared past. Couldn't hear a damn note the band was playing. I think all young boys have a thing for tanks. Must be a testosterone thing.
That BN in my last text was a typo sorry. When entering text on my phone, if I drag my finger a little, it spits out random letters. I should really proof read before hitting send.
