- It's always a pleasure to work on such interesting fan projects. As a huge fan of the original Mortal Kombat movie I was so thrilled and buzzed to recreate the opening scene and breathe new life into this title sequence using modern 3D graphics. Cinema 4D was used for the majority of tasks like modelling, sculpting, animation and shading. Smoke and fire simulations were made with a combination of Houdini and X-Particles. Redshift is for rendering as always. I also had a great experience collaborating with Pavel Zhigarev from Noizlab on the SFX part. Thanks a lot for taking part in this project.

I saw this movie in the theater back in the mid-90s and when this intro came on the audience went crazy! I was reminded of the emotion when hearing this again!

Same here! Everyone in line was already excited for the movie, but when that music hit in the intro, people were cheering. Great memory.
I rented Dumb and Dumber on VHS a few times as a kid JUST for the MK preview before it.

My first memory seeing this was like 8 years old on vhs my brother in laws and saw the Johnny cage scorpion fight and shat myself
The whole video is a Flawless Victory in itself!!! Ending part with Scorpion is a Fatality!

I bet money people would have cheered in the the theaters if they played this song in the intro to Mortal Kombat 2021.
All in all though Im glad they didn't use this theme, Mortal Kombat 2021 was hot garbage it's not worthy of using this classic iconic theme.
Respect to the maker of the video though, this video was ON POINT and makes me wish we had a 3rd movie to the original saga as they initially planned. Yall know Johnny Cage was planned to come back to life...I wonder how they would have pulled that off....guess we'll never know.
@@franktruth9639 I saw this opening night in 1995. When the dragon appeared people went fucking nuts. My old man in his 40s was cheering. Never seen anything like it before or since.
@@nicksimmons4491 That's awesome that you got to see the original in theaters. You are very fortunate.....I think this theme would have hit MUCH harder in 2021 though because of the nostalgia. People damn near would have had a heart attack out of nostalgia fueled excitement.

I know. Was the best. Downward spiral since 2000 but that’s only because we’re in the last days. Jesus promises many cool things on the new earth for those who would follow Him John 4:16. The NWO ruins everything.

@@ox_trueprotagonistchrisred9085 I kind of enjoyed that movie. It wasn't high budged, it stick to the lore, and the subzero v scorpion fight was amazing, it wasn't cheaply done or lame. The only lame part about the movie was the random dude as the protagonist, they could've just used Johnny Cage or Liu Kang as the main protagonist to follow through, or just about everyone, like it is done in the games, just telling story about each character in the main story, like having JC fighting this and that, having Sonya fighting this and that, etc.
They need to add this version into the 2nd installment for the fans!!!

Got me hyped like back in the day!
To be honest, i am actually never thought MK 1 Movie intro can be beaten, always stick to the OG but this one is exactly how it should look like in a REMAKE. Thanks man, this one is perfect.
Mortal Kombat is not Mortal Kombat without this theme, hopefully the new movie will have a similar theme

Imagine if this was a teaser announcement for another sequel to the '95 Mortal Kombat, and it's announced the next day the the original cast is coming back.
This is still the best adaptation to date. The older I get, the more I appreciate this movie. I think it is, on its own, a fairly damn good movie. Excuse the language please.

I was 5 years when this insane thing came out, and I went crazy a five year old girl since then I started playing mortal Kombat playstation games and it felt so amazing, at my 30's this thing came out again and I just can't believe it, I'm still in shock, Thank you so much New Line Cinema, for bring me back my childhood memories

This intro is way better than most intros hollywood studios and production companies ever do. LOOKIN' AT YOU DISNEY.
If they show this in the new movie. They should have a little opening scene before it, have somebody ask about it. Something along the lines of "This tournament you keep talking about, what's it called?" and then the screen fades to black and then the first thing you hear is "MORTAL KOMBAT!!!" and the credits show up
Fantastic idea! Or someone like Raiden talking about the tournament and saying at the end of his line "Mortal Kombat" while you hear at the same time the shouting of "Mortal Kombat" and the music kicks in.
@@Kaiju-Okami Great Ideas! Maybe Lui Kang is approched by Raiden of course and after all the initial exposition then Kang says "What kind of tournament?" cut to black...fade in slow as fuck as the man says "MORTAL KOMBAT"

They did not possess the cinematic arts or VFX technology to stylize this way in the 90s...but man this intro is awesome!! I agree that this would be sick as the intro title sequence for the new upcoming Mortal Kombat movie. However, guys...since it's going to be rated "R," I think it can be even darker and more graphic, don't you think?
