Neither had I. I came across a video of Wirtual and quite enjoyed it.
On a side note, I wanted to play the game, but don’t have anything with the horsepower to run it.
Then I found out Nadeo made a version for Wii in 2011. I happen to have a Wii U. Found a copy, and have been having a blast.
Of course, the online server is long gone, so I’ll never be able to unlock everything, but there’s still endless entertainment possibilities.
So, thanks Wirtual!

This looks a lot like the truck/snow physics from OG TrackMania.
I agree. It looks like SnowCar physics on the StadiumCar.
The A08 almost feels like SportsCar (Island), though acceleration is probably much lower
more like modified baycar physics tbh
I remember about this from TMturbo on DS
Snow car balance was way more light though
I was in that alpha test, many words were had with Hyliss over those physics.

As some others pointed it out, it seems close to Alpine physics in Trackmania Original
Definitely reminds me of the original trackmania games where there were three different types of physics.... two cars one truck.

The old physics feel just like when you were playing with a toy car as a kid. The drifts are stupidly long, complete with the noises but when you just decide to drive full grip its absurd.
kinda looks like the end of a06 at 7:07 was built with these physics in mind: you never get it this smooth in the real game...
Which is especially strange because A06 is one of the maps that was apparently completely re-made pretty late in development.
@@Vitosi4ek1 All of the tracks in this game were made with the current physics in mind. These physics are from the alpha of ESWC which had a totally different campaign.

Some people call this one of the Original physics, but I almost get Sunrise physics vibes from this, would be interesting to boot up Original, Sunrise and this and compare to find it!
NGL, this kind of control reminds me of lagoon physics where the car sharply turns at the slightest of touch, which allowed it to basically run roller coaster tracks.
i have a feeling these physics were similar to the SUV in Trackmania Sunrise. havent played it since i was a kid but its way too similar

IMO it doesnt not only looks like the Snowtrucks from OG Trackmania, but also a lot like the SUVs from TM Sunrise

I played a little bit of the first ones, like Sunrise and those physics looks a little like that imo. It had a lot more turning capabilities iirc.
you have to wonder what the author, gold, silver and bronze times would be if the game had these physics rather than the current physics

Same, kinda. I remember reading a review in a magazine and I'm pretty sure I had a demo from a magazine's CD or DVD. And I remember which store I bought the boxed version of TM:S at.
I was 13 or 14, I'm pretty sure we hadn't switched from 56k-ish modem to DSL, and I signed up on the german Deepsilver forum later, first time signing up for anything on the internet ever. That's where I created my username RedFlames because 13 year old me thought that it was very cool. :)
That car handling reminds me of Crazy Taxi with how arcade-y it is.

For even more accuracy Wirt or someone should do the TMN Race, or even better, port the raw TMN ESWC campaign tracks into TMU and see how much better the car does

17:47 how did the nagle of that jump work at all? You can hear wirtual click something and make an intense face, but no inputs are happening. Now the car starts to turn and he holds opposite direction once the angle is already set in the air. How did this happen? Is it an input solver of some sort that he triggered on the fly to drive for him for a sec, like a LUA script? Or how else would that happen with no inputs present? And that sound?

These physics are closer to reality; it seems that you can steer half a second one way and then completely steer the opposite direction to gain velocity speed and gravitational turn that makes the car much faster, contrast to just steering one way.
