311 honestly got me through my 1st deployment to Iraq back in 05. When I say deployment I wasint siting on the fob wanting to go home. I was in the shit every day. 311 was able to help me get through all of it. I think this band really helped shape me as a young man in combat. This new album after a month of hearing it cover to cover 100s of times has given me time to look back on my self a lot. I dont know what it is but 311 makes me look back on my self in a positive way, and be able to learn from it in a more matured man kind of way. The new album is so great, it feels old school and at the same time it feels new. It definitely feels grass roots and new age. Ok ill stop fan boying for now lol.
What an incredible interview by my favorite band, ever. That macro/micro discussion is so incredibly true and a really important lesson for all of us. "Observation is the gateway to the present moment." Thank you 311, and thank you BUILD Series for this interview! 🙏
@@kevankenney422 my pleasure! I recently saw the one with MC Lars and Mega Ran, and was hooked to your channel! I'm a musician as well, striving for a name for myself. Maybe someday our paths will cross! ✌️
@@kevankenney422 Agreed, great interview, great questions! It's difficult to come up with something new and challenging to ask the artist after 30 years. Well done.
Voyager is their best album since Transistor. Period. I haven’t been this excited about listening to 311 since ‘98 when I first got into music. Excellent work.
Strong interview! Interviewer is very gifted. Answers seem much more personal and much more personable this time around. Excited to hear some covers too!
I grew right up in that era but only liked 1 or 2 songs. Now, like literally now I'm starting to appreciate them. Really? I could've had years of live shows. I didn't start liking Pearl Jam until "98 or "99!!!
I havent listened to these guys since the evolver lp. Ive seen them like 10 times before that. Ive grown past them a long timevago, but they still hold a place in my collective conscience. I have to give them props. They have/had a unique chemistry and they do always have a great vibe. They never stopped, and the same 5 guys are still working together. That is a pretty special. I dont know how they do it.
Eric Litts OR have they grown past you? Just puttin it out there...you put the collective conscience out there so ... I figured you might delve into that one 👍🏼
@@insearchofthetruth2708 fair response. Ill just put it this way...i listen to music literally every waking moment. Ill credit 311 with steering me to their vast influences , but im continually inspired by music. But i have to admit, i never choose 311 to listen to anymore. There is so much grrat music, and nostalgia is great for some people. My tastes have evolved, and to me, just me, there are more enjoyable listening sessions to ther music. They are a grrat live band, have never quit, and i appreciate and respext their music. I saw an interview and am glad they are making music. I listened to their new stuff. Im.glad they still make music. But no thanks. Good luck to them.
Eric Litts My comment was meant to just understand or (innerstand if you will) ... your comment- no right or wrong brother- I feel ya and get you cheers!
Great interviewing technique. There are so many hosts who end up talking over their guests to compensate for not doing enough prep. You clearly have a handle on the topics, and the manners to let your guests answer. Great job!

P-Nut I am calling you out. Play anywhere? Play at Palentine Park in Fairmont, WV. You would be received so well.veven if you just went solo as spoken word like Henry Rollins.
Let me say to start Ive been a fan since the early 90's and still to this day. Question though what's up with the symbolism on this album cover in this interview? Y'all sold out to the cult it looks. I see the symbols and it makes me sad for all the artists who have sold out to these influences that try to control the world and the minds of the people. Love you guys either way always. Lose the symbols soon ASAP please

Definitely one of the best interviews with Nick and P Nut I’ve seen. Kevan did a great job interviewing my favorite band!
My fav 2 bands. Pantera and 311. When 311 lifted weights listening to the far beyond driven record outside the tour bus...made my childhood complete
5 minutes alone!
My two favorite bands also.
311 and Deftones hell yeah
MoGainz787 haha hell yea bro! Epic
Ronald Bethard incredible! Much love brother
I’m so grateful that my favorite band is so gracious! I love these guys always.
This is one of my fav interviews ever for these guys
This was a great discussion and a great interview. I thought the interviewer managed the conversation very well and asked great questions.
Yeah he asked really good questions.
Gracias for the show at Jones Beach, NY. VIVA hybrid rock por siempre! 🤟🏼😎🎸
Groove as your souls sings
Ill never forget the back stage pass me and my brother won on the radio. Loved hanging out with you guys at xfinity center
Cory Medeiros just hung with SA this sat . Super chill
Oh how I’d love to see Transistor live in its entirety. I saw the blue album live with b sides in Vegas. That was better than any 311 day show.
Making that hybrid music back in 90’ now it’s on ya!
Voyager is their best album since Transistor. Period. I haven’t been this excited about listening to 311 since ‘98 when I first got into music. Excellent work.
Great interview. Really good job.
Personally, I consider this one of their best works to date...
100%
I wouldn’t say their best, but they did a great job at mixing a more poppy sound with their classic stuff.
Now hearing the whole Voyager album, the tracks Feldman was a part of seem off,I think the Scotch tracks freaking rock though.🍄
Scotch always does it right with capturing the classic 311 sound!
I agree. Listen to the songs that sounded off from Mosaic too. Guess who produced them?
311 are able to make them sound fantastic. I’m down with Mosaic and Voyager and appreciate the exploration.
Favorite band ever!! ...this guy doing the interview is a beast on these questions. Very great interview. Gonna have to check out more of him
Strong interview! Interviewer is very gifted. Answers seem much more personal and much more personable this time around. Excited to hear some covers too!
Welcome back to Mansfield MA tomorrow! So glad to have you guys back. See you there.
Who else is watching in 2021 and going to the September concert?
Nick look likes Mr.Fantastic Reed Richard from Fantastic Four!
I can’t unsee it now, thanks a lot lmao
These guys man. They are something else.

Interviewer seemed clueless about 311 though,he started the show saying he just found out about the tour backstage.
311; the greatest ever ... should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame very soon.
311!!!!! Y’all coming to Springfield Mo ever again?!?!?! WE MISS YOU!!!!!!
dope interview!
great new album :)
David Young glad you dug it david
Good stuff!
snoop and 311. I never would have guessed but it really does make a lot of sense.
The first CD I ever bought was Grassroots in 1994. Whats crazy is most of it still works. A couple songs skip. Been a huge fan since then.
311 is life...
Aerosmith and Run DMC , kicked the door open for rap rock.

Yes! So much yes.
I would have loved to see adtr and 311 in one day
P-Nut I am calling you out. Play anywhere? Play at Palentine Park in Fairmont, WV. You would be received so well.veven if you just went solo as spoken word like Henry Rollins.

Dude ask p-nut some bass playing questions! Why is he sane right now and not crazy like he is on stage?
Lol. Omg im sorry but they way the interviewer asked before the internet "how did you find music?" jeez..
311 asked by 711 guy :)
They didnt bring up RHCP n the rap rock coversation.
Lmao
I love hearing these guys talk but damn they didn’t really talk much about the new album.
7-11 shirt?? he should have the 3-11 parody
SharkTank311 didn’t even think of that lol 🤦🏻♂️
They had that since the 90s
13 records… I wish Linkin Park could have made it that far.

Haha-
10:35 hope you find a good drummer! The cornerstone of most great bands
New album is good.. Better than Mosaic, but maybe not quite as good as Stereolithic... Solid album, though...
I could care less about Snoop. To be honest I think he's actually a bad image for the band.
Voyager is straight trash
Snoop sucked on tour with 311 he was terrible live
