Although this has been released on Tumblr and Bandcamp for a while now, I'm so excited to finally be able to share my first original song with you guys here on UA-cam! This is one of the originals that I was referring to in my last video blog, and it's definitely a special track for me.
It's a piece heavily inspired by Princess Yue's character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but ultimately I tried to create a song that stands alone and hopefully everyone will be able to enjoy even if they're not a fan of the series.
All elements in the track from the lyrics to the arrangement and instrumental were performed by me, so I'm very excited to say that it is my first entirely original piece. This is new territory for me, so I hope it turned out well! A moment of silence for Princess Yue.
You were killed before they gave your character a chance.
And even then she was one of the best in the show

What do you mean? That's just her role from the very beginning. She had to give back what was given to her sooner air later. It's sad story though but she's now living for eternity.
She gave her life as an honorable sacrifice that was needed... because without the moon there'd be a terrible darkness in the entire world... not to mention it wouldce thrown the elements off balance...
And as such though regretful and terribly sad her death was necessary

Yue is such an underrated character in the Avatar-verse. She chose her duty over love. Tragic yet so beautiful.

That part made me cry and imagined how Sokka felt yet he didn't have a breakdown like other people would've. I think he handled it great
That’s why Yue is my favorite atla character of all time. She was in love with Sokka so bad yet she choose to give her life away to save everyone. If it wasn’t for her, the Northern Water Tribe would have been destroyed and the balance would have never been restored
She was a hero, plain and simple. Yui had no choice really and she knew it. It was either sacrifice herself or lose everything and everyone she loved. She faced her destiny with poise and grace. Like I said a true hero
There was a theory that she was supposed to be the next avatar. When she was born, she was sleeping because the avatar soul had not entered her body. The Legend of Princess Yue would’ve been a great show 💙🌙
Apparently it was also why the moon spirit was able to bind with her so well. She had no spirit, then she became one.
That's badass, I would totally watch a show with Yue as the avatar.

As much as i love atla, id do anything to see legend of yue. partially because im curious what would happen to sokka and yues relationship. would yue and sokka have the future like what they probably wanted?
This sounds like a lullaby the future generations of the Northern Water tribe would sing to their kids in honor of Yue and her sacrifice.

Yet nobody knows who wrote the song. Slowly and slowly people just started singing it. No one took claim of it, they all just sang. But one old man, whenever he walks past children singing it, remembers that girl from the northern water tribe.
And he wonders, "I hope she can hear, and I hope she misses me too".
None know who wrote the song, but they say the moon is sure of it. The moon knows the one she loved.

Love the theory that if Aang wasn’t in ice for 100 years, Yue would’ve been the avatar after him.
She didn’t have the avatar spirit in her so she needed the moon spirit to live on and would’ve been next in line in the avatar cycle from air to water

AG grace, me to been listening to it for a while now and I looked at the picture after rewatching the show sense I was 7 and just went, wait... Yue?
Kya stepped outside, bringing Jasmine tea to a wheelchair bound Sokka. "You'll catch your death out here, Uncle." She handed him his tea and started to wheel him inside before he waved for her to stop.
"Can you feel the moon tonight?"
Kya looked a little confused. "Uhm.. yeah. It's a full moon. All Waterbenders are stronger during a full moon. Why do you ask?"
"It's nights like these that I feel really alive.." Sokka smiled at Kya before sipping his tea.
"If you're about to tell me you've been a secret Waterbender this whole time, I think Mom would be annoyed." She joked.
Sokka laughed and shook his head. "Just a little longer. I have something to say before I go in. I'll call you when I finish my tea."
"If you say so, Mr. talking to himself." Kya left him on the porch and went inside to get his bed ready.
"You're looking great tonight." He said, looking up to the sky. A voice beside him giggled. It was a young woman, Northern Watertribe from her looks.
"She's right you know. If you stay out much longer, you won't see the sun rise."
Sokka turned and smiled at the woman. "Atleast I saw the moon one last time then."
The woman reached and held her hand out. "Are you ready? We've waited long enough."
When Kya returned, Sokka was silent in his chair, the tea was half-empty.

I have spent many hours watching the moon thinking, "How lonely the moon looks, shining brightest in the night sky." This song speaks to my very soul and I am grateful you have at least some idea what the martyrs of the past felt. Here's to the fallen heroes! You have victory at last!

But also remember, the moon shines in the night. But surrounded by the stars to support the moon. The sun is boastful in his self, shining out everyone else. Drowning out the beautiful light of the stars and moon. Then the sun moves onto where he feels more worshiped and needed. The humble moon and stars left to shine in the darkness, no one to watch them. This is what I think about, as a writer of books.

I'm Pretty sure that when anyone dies in the books, they go to Hades (the underworld) and depending on what Kind of Perosn they Were, it would put them in a certain Section. unless you ment that entirely different XD

Volton and Avatar are actually incredibly similar if you think about it! Yue and Allura have their similarities, Sokka and Lance are basically the same people but in different universes and They both kind of follow an elemental theme ( as in the lion paladins and the bending )

I just realized that...
In stead of going by Avatar I picture a girl who is lonely and the only friend she has is the moon. As a young little girl she tried to hug the moon and play with him. She knew that some day she would touch the moon, when she grew up every night she would go out side and watch the stars twinkle while waiting for the moon. She would draw pictures of him and tell him stories that her mother told her. The moon would be quite and listen to her stories very carefully. Some times he didn't show up but she knew he was near her. One a autumn twilight she was older and fell in love with a boy about her age and he would give her a red rose every weekend. She spent most of her time with him then the moon. The moon then shut himself up in the clouds for many months until she came back, and she did! Her reached her gentile hand out to the sky with her eyes full of silver tears. "Moon," She called out. "Moon, please come show your light." Finally he came out from behind the clouds and looked at her with joy. He shown his light on her and her heart felt warm. She looked weak and tired, then she fell to the ground crying. "Help me," She cried softly. "I'm dying of cancer and all I ask from you is that I can touch your silver surface just once." Then the moon glowed brighter then it ever did in it's life. The girl was lifted into the twilight sky and she got closer and closer to the moon. She held out her hand and she touched the moon's smooth surface. She giggled a little and gave the moon a gentile hug. Her heart began to beat more and more softly. As it faded away she kissed the moon. "I love you, moon." She said. Then her heart stopped and she died with a thin lovely smile on her face and she still touched the moon. THE END

As ridiculous as this sounds, this song makes me cry. It was never like that before. It gave me a bitter sadness, but not to the point of tears. As I listen to this again when I'm older, it breaks my heart in freshly realized ways. There are many Yue's in this world, whose destiny was to never be happy, but to pave the way so others will be. I wonder if it's possible to live in a world where no sacrifices are needed, where we are all blessed with the fair chance to be loved and keep love. If only our mortal lives were that simple.

A girl that lives upon a rich life, princess to be exact, wasn't happy with her life. She was a regular teenage girl, and wanted to be treated like that. No "highness" or "majesty". Just... Her plain name.
One day, she looked into the night sky and saw a beautiful, pure white moon. "Oh, why can't I be free like you?" She questioned with tears in her eyes. Her maids stood by her respectfully and would not say a word. When she returned, she met a prince she had to marry out of alliance purposes. She soon fell in love with the prince, but one day...
It was a peaceful night like all the others. The now queen stood on her balcony. She soon mounted the highest place of it. Her grin enlarged after she jumped off, trying to hug the reflection of the moon from a pond. Her body did not resist, and after she queen fell dead on the ground, she smiled and slowly closed her eyes. As her spirit ran and hugged the moon, she looked back.
"Take care of our new heir, dear." She spoke out her husband and lived next to the moon forever.

when i first heard this song, about 5 years ago, i hadn't seen avatar and yet i felt really connected to this song and it was my favorite for a long time.
i made a lot of memories with this song in the backround and it always reminds me of someone that i met during that time who i no longer have contact with and haven't for years.
im watching avatar now and im almost at the part when yue comes. ill come back when im finished and im sure this will have much new meaning.

Takashi Shinigami you could argue Yue from Avatar shares many parallels with Kaguya. I'm willing to bet she was actually inspired, character and backstory wise, by the tale of the Bamboo Cutter; the legend the movie Princess Kaguya follows almost to a T.

don't blame yourself i know its not easy sometimes sadness or depression goes beyond people we love my foster mother had postpartum depression after my sister born in 2004 i was 5 years old my brother 4 she never recovered. :( Sometimes we have to honor those who live as long as possible.

Your mother was probably suffering from some form of deep depression that had nothing to do with you. Your mother will always be with you watching over you but just because you can’t see her or feel her she is there still loving you the same but in a new way❤️
