Same! I was accepted and started in August as well 😊 West Liberty University in Wheeling, WV.
I can’t wait til I’m accepted into the program! Great video Queen! ✨🤍
Great video! You are extremely well spoken and your smile is money!!! Thank you
Thank you so much for this video, I really needed it💕
Thank you so much really needed this video and info 😊
Thank you for the video Kalesha, I loved the way you presented. I just finished the dental hygiene program and I really was scared about being bored of doing everyday the same, but you helped me to see it from another perspective. I got surprised about the average rate there, in NYC working as a dental assistant while in school I was making $29 p/hour and as a graduated hygienist you may start from $45 to $50 per hour. But is always good to get informed about how it works in other parts of the country. 🙏
The cost of living in MS is below average and as a result, so is the pay.
Thank you for this video! I am only a junior in high school, but I am very interested in this field! 💕
Go for it!!!
Same but I’m a senior
I’m inspired!!!
I just recently changed my major to Dental Hygienist. The major I was doing was just not for me and it was too much school.
If you don’t mind me asking what was your previous major? I was doing nursing but thinking about Dental Hygienist now.
Girl as a DH you gonna be at school much more.
@@esmetirado3248 nope is not associate takes only 2 years
What major did you change?
I wish it was like this in the uk, so much dental hygiene content is from the USA haha
Thank you I am currently a senior and I’ll be graduating soon, I got accepted into an associates degree program in health science and plan on taking on this career. Is there any advice you would like to give for beginner students and things to expect?
Hi! DH is one of the careers i want to be! I am just trying to think what i really want to do rest of my life!
I live in arkansas but there is only two DH schools in my state. I really want to work in Arkansas after graduated.
How many dental hygiene schools can i apply? Is there any limit?
If i attend a school in texas, i only can take a Texas board exam?? Or i am allowed to take Arkansas board exam even though i go to school in texas???
I am doing prereqs in college rn in hopes to get accepted in the program! I keep hearing about how most places dont offer benefits. Have you ran into that problem?
Hay quá
What type of science classes do you need to take?
hey girl! in your experience do dental hygienists get drug tested either pre-employment or randomly during employment? love your content and thank you for this video; super great information! :)
Neither! I was only drug tested during school.
@@KaleshaMonet okay, thank you for responding!! i really appreciate it!:)
Facts cuz I’m an orthodontic assistant and I smoke weed lmao but it’s legal in New York I know in school they drug test you
@@oliviabrown9170 ikr! i live in Oregon so it's fully legal here as well. it's so dumb that they still drug test for it. what i do in my personal time does not affect my work life! yall wouldn't freak out if i was an alcoholic but when i wanna smoke a little herb they're like "WHOOAAA THERE NOPE STOP RIGHT THERE BUDDY".
I feel like your video is opposite what other videos said. They said rigid schedule, repetitive etc
Did you have to do a case presentation the last year of dental hygiene school?
Yes!
I knew her accent sounded familiar I’m from Mississippi as well 😂
😂😂😂 gang gang 🤟🏽
What should you take in high school for classes, and before you get accepted do you have to pre requirement’s?
You do not get to choose high school classes; college courses are what matters. Use the application from the hygiene school you wish to attend to take the right pre-requisites
I’m currently a RDA. Been thinking about becoming a RDH for the pay but I’m unsure that I’ll be able to with cost of schooling…
Look into scholarships.
Do you ha e to experience before you become a temp dental hygienist?
No ma’am, but I would recommend experience.
How do you get health benefits
Some jobs offer it.
I’m looking to become a DH but I have no guidance on what to do or how since I’m the first to go to college in my family…
Any tips you would recommend?
Hey! Watch my 7 steps to become a RDH video!
I want to become a dh. Yall get paid good and the schooling isn't Hella years lol.
Facts!!
Please help give tips in finding patients during the covid era. I am in my senior year and most of the tips I used before aren't possible anymore with the pandemic in mind. :(
If your school has athletic departments, talk to the coaches & ask if they’ll make it a requirement that their players come see you at the clinic.
@@KaleshaMonet that's a great idea!! Thanks for the reply. Love your videos
Did you stay with an associates or move on to a bachelors?
Bachelors!
what degree is better for DH an associates or bachelors?
Depends on what you want to do with your career!
What part of Mississippi are you from?
I’m from the Mississippi Delta!
Can you work full time and go to dental school?
Eh, 10/10 would not recommend
42/ hr I guess is average in ny
Do you get payed time off? Just curious!
Yes ma’am!
Any tips on how to get accepted into the program
Do the pre reqs and submit your application fool
@@juzrhyme712 it’s more than that fool!
Minimum 3.0 GPA
I know that you already said how much you make hourly but approximately how much is your yearly salary?
roughly 50K here in MS. I have no doubt it’s higher in other states.
@@KaleshaMonet how many hours do you work?
