@swing back A good chunk of people who use hard drugs do have underlying mental illnesses. A good chunk of people with a mental illness have at least depression. Drugs are a crutch to escape your problems/trauma for a while.
At his age and what he's gone through, (we all go through some sort, a lot more than others) His past, like i said his past and i hope it stays that way and he can get a job, a decent apartment and live the rest of his new life drug-free. I know he knows that and I'm glad he reached out to A.P.S. cause we know with his age (unless he has a profession he can get a good paying job) it will be just as hard to get a job like Danny did. I think his old smile will come back the more he gets on his feet just like Danny did.

I can understand why Rabbit would be pissed. He only needs to justify his actions to two people. His parole officer, and himself. Us viewers have no right to make that determination. That's just my opinion.
I completely agree with you and that goes for everyone on APS. We have no right to question these people, whats so ever.
I mean, he's on parole. If he was using he would be locked back up. I don't think it's out business to drug test. Unless we (the viewers) are giving money to an aps member in the form of donations.

I’m on pain management for an illness and I have to be tested I know exactly how it feels it’s like a lack of trust and like I’m an addict. I take less meds and suffer just to prove I’m not an addict. I need a higher dose but don’t want to be seen as drug seeking.

It is unfortunate people like you have to suffer and not get the proper dose you need because of the stigma on it. It really makes me feel bad that a lot of people that need the medicine and take it as prescribed are getting cut way down to where it's not really any help, or cut off completely because of the pill mills, and people selling off their scripts. It truly makes me feel bad for patients that were doing what they were supposed to, because the DEA is so strict on it now that even if a doctor wants to help you they can't because they are being threatened with losing their license and the ones that continue to help patients with what they feel is necessary do lose their license. It is pretty sad it has come to this..

The bottom half of his comment hit home and made me think of someone close to me going through that shit and dealing with stupid stigmas, when in reality they are as good as they come and should be the last person dealing with it. I also said it because they obviously have felt less than, or continue to be judged because they want proper help, so they dont say shit and suffer to avoid being picked apart or labeled something, that no ones trying to be labeled, especially when they aren't abusing their shit. The pain in Rabbit's eyes cuts me deep. That is the look of personal struggle and desire to do what's right.
Rabbit, the first video I saw you in was when you were helping clean the apartments. In that video I could see that you wanted to keep yourself on the right path. Your willingness to work, to help when needed was evident in the way you behaved. You displayed a work ethic that is so sadly missing from too many people these days.
I've never battled substance addiction but I have seen the aftermath of addiction that has overtaken someone. Twice. I have great respect for you and your desire to make a positive change in your life.

Rabbit is right. I take medications for bipolar, PTSD and anxiety and some of those meds make you look like you might be high. These are serious meds. They tranquilize you.

True, I dated a bipolar chick & she gave me a couple of her pills that help her sleep. I was out cold for 12 hours & my brain was numb for another 18 hours on top of that. And the doctor wants her to take 6 of these a day? That's fucked up. Doctors don't want to cure mental illness, they find it easier to just turn someone into a zombie, so they're not a danger to society. Fuck doctors

They shouldn't test for cannabis if you ask me. It's more medicine than drug. I know a lot of people who have maintained sobriety from heroin with occasional cannabis use and not to mention mushrooms have straight up cured people of addiction. Glad no one tests for psilocybin, psilocin or dmt.

No one is saying that joe isn’t rabbits boss but joe is the founder and boss of after prison show, a brand joe has dedicated himself to, to help people like rabbit. Joe was not in the wrong here, he’s not wrong for validating and protecting his brand. A lot of time, passion and money gos into this. Rabbit Is and can continue to benefit greatly from APS.

I think there's a difference between using and being overwhelmed. I think Rabbit is just overwhelmed with life right now in addition to other issues. We believe in you Rabbit!! I'm glad you all did it so that Rabbit wasn't singled out.

I felt so bad for Rabbit just the look in his eyes showed how upset he was. I knew all of the tests would be clean. It's sad that people think that any one of you is using. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you Joe and what you are doing to help people get on their feet and maintain a clean life. I felt the pain that Rabbit was feeling just by seeing his face, I was even like wow you're doing what today why the hell do you need to do that to them but showing that you yourself would not ask anyone to do anything that you would not do says a lot about you

@walter wardlaw I agree that is exactly what that was about I just felt so emotional for Rabbit just the look on his face you could see the pain that he was feeling. I don't know what you were thinking in that moment or about the vlog itself but I knew in my heart that he was clean. I love that he showed the world and the haters that he is trying to better himself and he knows his past is there but I do believe that he has learned from it and with the support system he has now really helped uplift him and he knows he has people cheering him on I am not saying this for anyone to think that I am bragging but I did send a cashiers check to help at least pay for his room that he stays in. The man in my life has been where these men are an I know first hand how hard it is to stay clean and how easy it can be to just go back to the same life they left.
I feel like this broke his spirit. That hurts to see. However, I don’t think you’re wrong for asking this of someone. I think from this point forward, just let people know it will be part of the gig. If they know from the get go that this is part of it, it will be extra motivation and it won’t feel like a surprise attack. You’re not in the wrong joe.

The only problem with that is it prepares them to carry clean urine with them or have it hidden in the bathroom or whatever the case may be. These arent supervised urine tests like what a PO does.

Ok so I took a long break from APS for some reason. I come back and I see this and you know what? This is the first time I've seen Rabbit, and the moment I saw him I knew he would be clean, the way that he responded to the situation, how he was moving around, he had sadness but he also had hope. That hope made me believe in him from the beginning. I'm so happy that he's able to turn his life around. God bless from the UK!

Hampton has changed a lot in the past like 10yrs, it used to look like butt now it’s starting to look much better, I remember when I lived there it was an awful place to live, teachers getting raped and stabbed and shit but now when I go back to see family it all looks much better (buckroe beach still looks dirty as hell though but I don’t think that’ll ever change)

These videos are so inspiring!! I've never been arrested, or in trouble with the law, but I'm very sick with a lot of medical issues, and I use a ventilator to breathe for me. And seeing you all staying so strong after living in prison, is inspiring to me, because It's going to help me to realize, that even though I'm on a ventilator, hooked up to a lot of equipment at night, hooked up to a machine that vibrates all night to clean my lungs, even though I'm on all this equipment, I'm not in prison, and I haven't had to deal with nearly HALF the stuff you have had to do.
This got weird real fast. Forreal this was just sad to watch.

Pretty intense. I thought Dave was gonna be legit pissed, especially when he was sitting on the couch. But, what proves that he has nothing to hide was his second reaction while on the couch. He said, “I know why you’re doing this.” That right there said enough. He gets it. He is with it. He supports it. And Rabbit felt backstabbed. But rightfully so. I’m glad this didn’t cause any bad blood.

I feel two ways about this before knowimg the results:
1. You have nothing to prove to anyone! You guys know you're clean, and that's enough for me.
2. It's actually kind of sweet that your fans care so much, they want to make sure you guys are living your cleanest life. They want you to stay out, and there is something kind of sweet about that ♡.
you miss the point, joe needs to know they are clean, ive been in his shoes, its very stressful not knowing if a friend/employee is using drugs.

Not the point, not the morality. Not everything is about the main "point" of the video you know. I'm allowed to have an opinion about the feelings. If I said "oh wow, Walgreens is a nice place" would you have said "You missed the point?" Actually you probably would, but I'm hoping you don't miss my point. im a former heroin addict and that has come up on my life. i am rabbitts age. i would have not put joe on a cross like yall did calling him a p.o. . its about money and the generous people who donate and they are the channel they keep this going and look at what was done for danny. he has the most sense. i feel he would take tests all day.

I love this show. This is an example that people make mistakes but they aren’t defined by them. Idc how much dirt you guys did in the past. I’m just impressed by how much good and positivity you’re consistently doing now. That goes to everyone involved with this channel.

I'm proud of all of you. I am a addict and I will be for ever. I am going through the toughest time in my life. My mother is dieing about 3 years after my wife passed away. That was hard but this with my mom is a thousand times worse. And I have never wanted to get high and escape from this point in my life more. But I know that that is the last thing that she would want. And if I did I would be disappointing her in her last days. I know that staying clean is what I have to want. But it helps me to do it for her as well. Thank you Joe and the APS ARMY. APS ARMY FOR LIFE!
truly sorry u r going thru such a tough time man, losing your wife must have been devastating. ive been married almost 13 years n we been together 15 years and i honestly dont know what id do without her. losing your mom on top of that pain is just crazy, as a fellow addict/alcoholic i commend you for trying to stay clean thru all of this and i hope that you do make it thru clean and that your life drastically improves after all this is over. good luck.

Damn. I am a recovering addict. I've been sober for about 8 years. I also lost my younger brother to an overdose. I'm so glad that Rabbit is staying clean but I can see the pain in his eyes.
I have the exact same mental illnesses as he does and I can truly say he is a damn strong person to be staying sober and wanting to work instead of collecting disability because trust me, with those issues, he has every right to collect disability.
I'm sending you 3 good vibes. It's so good for you to have each other to lean on.

It was so emotional when I saw Rabbit's face and the pain that he felt that he had to prove to Joe and the world I wanted to cry myself, it's really sad that anyone would think by one look at Rabbit the other days face that he was on something. Did they not think about the fact that he was talking about his past and he got emotional himself. I saw that his eyes looked red and glassy but I know what it's like to try and hold yourself together when talking about something you regret I do believe at the time he was either holding back tears or maybe he cried and we just didn't see that part

I believe in the fact that people can change and I firmly believe in you guys. My mom was an addict a long time ago and she fucked up big time. My sister and I had to go live with my dad for a few years. But she was able to turn herself around. Instead of going so far down that road that she ended up dying, she straightened up and now she owns a house, a new truck, and has her kids back. I know her story doesn't affect y'all but all I'm tryin to say is that people can change for the better, and that goes for y'all too. Stay strong guys.( Wrote this before the testing in the vid)

I'll be clean/sober 6yrs on March 13 & parents still surprise me with drug test.. And im 34yrs old. But my track record isn't best & in the many yrs i was in active addiction i did nothing but lie. But i never have hard feelings for my parents doing this to me! ❤

This is THE ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do to an addict! They can never move forward, if they are continuing to be forced and pushed back into their past. Which is exactly what this feels like as an addict. It feels as though you are not only being accused, but prematurely convicted of doing something wrong! In doing this, after so much shit talking, and so many accusations, it's hard for an addict to not say fuck it, might as well do it, they already think I am. I am heartbroken for Rabbit, when he said I feel like nobody believes in me. I felt that shit in my soul! I've been there, buddy, and I not only understand, but believe in you 100% because I know how hard that shit is, brother. Stay strong my man! You are already somebody, and always were.
