I love this guy and even once had the honour of meeting him in person. honourable and dedicated as you would imagine. I do want to say though, at risk of sounding overly critical but still, he on some occasions plays "too" fast for me for my taste. On those few occasions however it really came down to my own taste and musical differences from him. To explain my taste, I do believe there is a moment where on the drums incredibly fast playing can be overbearing sonically and compositionally. That said, and more importantly and to my actual point to my post here, I once knew this guy personally. he struggled and fought his way to his success now. He did also with the mind of a musician always and firstly. Although on some and fleeting moments of any of his many performances he joyfully indulged in more exuberant and faster phrasing he always clearly showed off his true musical quality and inventive nature for the drums. What's my point so? If any drummer casually visiting this channel with a critical ear for faster playing,like I have had, I ask you please listen to this guy's performance throughout and completely!He has all the respect in the world for song and composition as you'll discover. Furthermore, groove and timing. He had it years ago when I had met him and here now too. I post this because he does tend to demonstrate faster and humanly impossible drum licks , phrasing and beats. But! Dig deeper and you'll discover his immense respect for groove and timing for all songs. I have video of his early days showing just that(not posting anywhere though sorry, not my right or property).however, see his video series on COVID lockdown practice material. By then I didn't know him personally but those videos are essential to even begin to understand this guy's mind and inventiveness while improving yourself and your playing. Great channel, great content, and believe me great guy and musician.!Fast can be fast but there is way more to this player than his speed, which cannot be said about a lot of metal drummers on this platform. He will have his place in drumming history
