    That weather was brutal for video shoots! Not easy! Really nice job! And I hope that Manitou will have you back out when the weather is much, much better! You've certainly earned it!

    I’m actually really impressed by this video, this is out of your typical comfort zone. Great job, would love to see more boat reviews.

      Thank you very much but I do think this is a rare outlier.

    A few years ago we got a 22’ Bennington Saltwater Series Pontoon to accommodate a growing family. Years ago I would have never imagined pontoons in salt water, but they are everywhere here in South Florida! Pontoons are outselling other boat classes 2:1 last time I checked the NMMA report. These Manitous have some cool features and look really nice. Skeptical of the Rotax drive unit, but definitely features some cool tech.

    Adding some refinement into pontoon and tritoon boating. cant wait to try one out.

    I vote yes for more boat stuff! After all two of the three major PWC manufacturers also build boats. And you won’t even have to change the name of your business since Watercraft Journal can apply to both 😜

      Yeah, Yamaha doesn't have much interest in us covering boats.

    Awesome video man! Loving this kinda content as a nice additional to the pwc stuff.

    Well Kevin good job for your first time sharing content from the boating world. They look like some pretty nice pontoon options to choose from in the market.

    Great job Kevin. A totally different beast than a 300+ HP ski, but you hit all the high points. Very informative from another guy that knows nothing about pontoons:)

    Hey Kevin.. as you might know I sold the gtr230 and went out and got me a 2023 24 foot tritoon. I love it.. I do miss the ski.. but this boat is awesome.. I did not get the manitude. I got one made by South Bay. You looked like you really enjoyed doing the boat thing you should really consider , continuing doing boat reviews.. if you want you can come down to the emerald coast again and I'll take you out on the boat ..
    Eric.

    Yes it runs cleaner than a 4 stroke and is very efficient but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of 2 strokes are banned at lakes on the west coast. Love the boat content and the manitou looks very nice!

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  Рік тому +3

      I inquired specifically about this one topic: The E-Tec/Rotax is permitted on all of these otherwise restricted lakes due to the low emissions rating. That's what the Ultra-Low Emissions rating decal means.

    • @JR-ho5qm
      @JR-ho5qm Рік тому

      That’s right. They can’t ban a 2 stroke just because it’s a 2 stroke. The sticker is what’s important

    Great walk through! You explained everything really well and very clearly with good overall flow. It would be nice to hear your impressions of the rotax outboard which is essentially an Evinrude. Still surprised they didn’t use jet drive which would have significantly simplified the stern in my opinion.

    Can you fish with the BRP CRUSE

  • @machew2009
    @machew2009 Рік тому

    I just wish BRP would have kept and would bring back the evinrude etec. Think giving up the best outboard in the world to come up with something like this new outboard wad a super bad idea they lost so many loyal costumer do to them shutting down evinrude and dont like the looks of these new pontoons. I do think it would be a fun experiment if brp gave me one of these outboards to test as a repower on my lund tyee just to see if there is any potential in this new motor
