I love Judy’s Magic Cast on, and have used it a few times beyond socks. I am working on a project that will be done in a rectangle and folded in half. The cast on edge will end up being adjacent to the cast off edge. For that reason I wanted them both to look exactly alike.
So what I did was I used Judy’s magic cast on and knit one plain row on one of the sides, followed by the ribbing, and then cast off using a normal cast off. Now I am working off the other side of the cast on doing stockinette, and when I get to the end, I will do matching ribbing and the same cast off. I hope that makes sense.
