Glad to see the rabbits got some hay to bed on. I bet Jonah could make some nice boxes for them to climb in to sleep and lay on top of for rest from the wire. Happy to see the improvement.
Happy Thanksgiving Day from Papua east province of Indonesia. God bless you all. Thanks so much for your talent to be blessed me with homesteading. I was build up the homestead life style without use electricity now. I have 40 hens and rooster and 2 female goats (Nubian mixed Boer) and I hope next week will ready to meet other male goats. Thanks for the inspire me to bless others also.
So happy to see hay, and even grass in the rabbit cages, it will provide enrichment, and improve their overall happiness, and health. Definitely a step in the right direction. Happy Thanksgiving!
Because of you Justin , my daughter and I raised and processed 20 Cornish cross chickens this summer and that's what we are having for our Thanksgiving dinner a roasted chicken plus canned green beans from our garden.
Justin, at some point, could you do "The story of Arune (sp?)" It would be neat to know how he came to the farm, what his arrangement was, and if he always planned to go home. Thanksgiving blessings, g.
We are on the way back to Charleston from Tennessee and we passed through y’all’s area and I told my two boys, 6 and 4, this is where Justin Rhodes lives and they freaked out. The oldest one wanted know why we didn’t just come see y’all lol. Thanks for all you guys do!! Our whole family adores every member of the family! We can’t wait to watch the new videos together.
I just noticed that the Rhodes (Rebeka) said that she doesn't like storing food in plastic, so things that come in plastic immediately go into glass jars in the fridge. Everything, even ketchup and whatnot. But in their freezer, everything is in plastic bags.
Love how you two involve the children and how the children really help. They will very likely grow up to be independent, responsible, resilient, and very productive adults. Little Henry keeps the smiles going too, ha, ha. Happy Thanksgiving!
On year, I made smoked broth, it was pretty great. We would use it as a base in things like chili, rustic chicken and wild rice soup, as a braising liquid for pulled pork in the Instant Pot - anything we could think of that could accommodate that smoky flavor.
Justin , I cooked my turkey in the oven this year with bacon on top , it was so juicy and so good , I will never cook my turkey any other way again , thank you for showing us that way
Herding turkeys! You saw it first on the Rhodes Farm. I love Jonah's positive attitude. I am thankful that I chose to subscribe to this amazing family's channel. I am inspired in one way or another every video. I am also grateful for the other homesteaders I found thru this channel. Warm tropical breeze hugs to all from Mexico. Best wishes in this holiday season where ever and however you celebrate
I just raised and butchered my first two turkeys ! It’s a addiction! I raised bronze broad breasted :) named them death metal and stuffing :) loves their personalities ! They were so entertaining ! They provided my family and my mom with two beautiful meals ! I’m ordering 6 more this spring !
I really miss seeing his silly smile. He has a Utube channel but I can't remember the name of it. Do you know what it is? Hello from Iowa 🙋♀️ Karen Wilson
Arun often takes this trip to India this time of year to visit his family. They only stay a few months. He stated on his channel that he will settle in the same area near Justin when he returns. Arun and his family want to set up their own homestead, which was always the plan. He stated that he would post as often as possible on his trip to India this winter. His channel is Arun Kumar.
Looks like y'all had a blessed day together. Love how everyone works together and gets it done. Family is everything. Missing Arune hope he's doing well in India he had seemed like such a part of the family. Keep up the good work and God bless you all. Happy thanksgiving guys
It is indeed THE best sound in the world. I remember that specifically about my boys. One instance in particular: the oldest (4yrs old at the time) was gently pushing the second (8 mos) on the swing set. Oldest was facing the second, and every time the second came forward towards him, the oldest would make a googly eyed face at the second. The second would have this full on belly laugh. This went on for at least 20 minutes. I will never forget that sight and sound. They are all grown up now. And still make me laugh till I pee...lol. 😊
It's so nice. to see that nice family gathering, bless you all, you do deserve so peaceful time, It's all I wish for me and my family at this moment so thank you for sharing those good. moments, I do need to see some positive energy to bring me up today 😁
I really appreciate your Channel and watching a real farmer I real Homesteader most of the ones on here AR running a petting zoo that's not real farming I grew up on a farm in south Georgia you didn't waste anything you harvested it you took what you needed to feed the family and you sold rest for profit
Once you've cut the bird in half, go ahead and halve it again separating the white from the dark meat. Then you can put each type of meat on its own tray cook each type of meat to its optimal temperature. I like white meat at 160°F and dark meat at 170F ( or higher). Happy Thanksgiving y'all.
Yummy! Looks so good you guys! Great job! How is Arun? Family that works together sticks together! Gideon turned out such a great little helper, growing up into an amazing boy like the others and Lily holds her own! It looks like you all had a wonderful time!🤗🤗💜💜🤗🤗
Wow ,Awesome thank you . It is neat to see how many families one homestead could provide Thanksgiving Turkey to, in a pretty great and i assume easy grow. there was like 20 turkeys in your A frame and they must not be a concertation needy like dairy and or pigs,,... NiCe!!!!!! and Yumm..
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your family and have a good day with everybody so God bless you guys love your channels I watch everyone of them when you’re on and when you’ve made them so God bless you guys love you and your family the lady from Indiana

So cool to see all children not on their phones, but helping with all preparations!
I don't think any of the kids have cellphones

You’re so right Justin! I cooked for two days and the meal was over in 15 minutes. Journey is the destination!

I am though. Bigger birds like geese and turkey scare me. Lol and I want a homestead.
Thank you

The rabbits got hay hooray 😁
Spatchcocking the turkey helps it smoke faster.
After butchering ours weighed 37 pounds. So moist. Fresh is best!
I raise my own turkeys too. I cooked a 15 lber for Thanksgiving, my mom asked me at least 5 times where the pop up thermometer was.

Please tell Rebecca you can make cornbread dressing ahead of time and freeze it ! Thaw,& bake as usual, adding broth as needed.
homegrown Food 🐔 🦃 🐑 🐄 good stuff
I always use bacon on top of our turkey. I don't smoke it though. We don't have a smoker.
Matur suwun 💗💗💗
If you only want to grow a few, could you keep them in with your laying hens? Or would they fight?
I've seen other homesteaders keep mixed flocks. It's my understanding that it does depend on their little personalities.
Arun worked so hard. I bet you miss that. Wish him well.
Mr. Brown looks so grown up.
I like to make broth from the smoked turkey bones then make it into smoked turkey gumbo! Yummy!
amazing....
I started out eating baked Turkey then a friend did a smoked Turkey it was delicious however now I am vegetarian. Hope you enjoyed Tour Thanksgiving
