I actually own the pedal and I must say you did a perfect job capturing the sound and feel of it! the great thing of this pedal is that through a clean channel of a tube amp sounds almost like the gain channel of it.(just a little bit thinner compared to the actual channel) for the money, is the best pedal that I know of. cheers!
Just got mine today 10 minutes after plugging into it I know it's a keeper! Bluesy Hendrix to punk to metal to Gilmore's Muff tones to shredding, this pedal seems to be able to do them all
WoW ! Sounds really amazing for the price... I'm a big fan of your demos and your playing is awesome ! Love the insane riff at 7 : 03. Thanks so much ! 👍👍
Great pedal ! As alwas, good reviex too ! I love the way you make your reviews, alwas good sound and it's funny, we never get bored, congrats ! Your really deserve much more views.
You are right, most metal pedals have no tone... but I am trying to find out what you are trying to say with your post... this pedal is a high gain pedal, but I would not see it as a metal pedal...
I bought mine after watching this video! I posted a sound test on my channel this weekend. Since I usually go for a brighter clean tone, I never get to set the tone past 10 o clock on mine. It can get awfully shrill. Highs tamed, I like how it can get slighly fuzzy, specially with the guitar tone rolled down, but it doesn't lose "crunch".
It bothers me that they couldn't just capitalize the S in US. Nice demo. Been watching a lot of your pedal review videos and they are very thorough. Thanks.
I haven't done it, but there are other comparison videos on the web - they are very close. I have the US Dream. I wanted the Hot Plexi for a long time, but after watching his other video of it, it seems like just a lower gain version of this. I will say that the US Dream doesn't add a lot of low end, but it does a good compressed lead tone. Kind of like a Crunch Box, but smoother.
Greetings Henning I have the sweet baby and the deluxe crunch.....am looking for a little more gain without going full metal....do you think the Us dream is next in progression ?
Nice review. Pedal sounds great... the track is good to hear. Wish you did some more hard rock/metal riffs and power chords, the pedal sounds proper for it.
I don't have a Riot here... but there is a video where they compare them and when you close your eyes you cannot tell the difference... maybe it is something you can feel when you play the pedal, but I doubt it...
Love your reviews man, do you own all this gear or is it supplied to demo? keep up the good work looking forward to seeing/hearing more take it easy Bro
Thanks guys.... as for pushing the riot with the vintage overdrive.... it depends on what kind of metal you play... a lot of metal doesn't even need that much gain... and the US Dream has plenty... 80s metal and today's metal requires completely different sounds... i need to know more...
Hi, I don't think that a high gain pedal like this one is great for Grunge. I would rather go for the Crunch Distortion, or maybe the Hot Plexi. The Deluxe Crunch will also give you a lot of options. For Nirvana you need a chunky attack... and dirt... so Ultimate Drive might not be bad... check out those videos...
Good pedal, "maybe" a little too muddy, but it's very good or the best choice for that money... cheap but very good. Talking from my experience... that pedal and mesa boogie emulator are perfect to caver a lot of rock and heavy songs. Mister Henning made a great test-demo-video.
I have watched almost all your videos, including the "meeetaaaal" ones, they are rally cool! Ich gratuliere dich!. I have a question about the backing track, is it available in youtube or as an mp3? I'm eager to jam with it. Keep on rocking, Tschüß.
Hi Benjamin, nope, that track doesn't exist as a backing track.... or does it... let me check.... nope.... another one from the same album is in my playalong playlist... but I'll upload it itno my dropbox and put a link int the description under video.... JUST FOR YOU !!!!
Hi, i've already a MD-2 from Boss and im looking to another distortion pedal. US Dream is pretty much similar to MD-2? What do you reccomend. (Pennywise, Nirvana, Social Distortion, Offspring, QOTSA...) I can only find Joyo online in Brazil, so i can't test...
Hello Henning, I just got myself this pedal after watching your review and demo. (I hope joyo gives u commisions lol) My pedal however has quite a loud clicking when I click the switch. I know its cheap n what not, but is it normal for this pedal?
Really good demo , i decided to buy this pedal because of you ! But i have a little question , when I pass my signal through I loose like 25% of brightness in my tone compared to when I plug my guitar straight to my amp ? Can you tell me if it's normal or what do you think about it ?
+Christophe Beaudoin It's a true bypass pedal, meaning there's no buffer to boost the signal and preserve the highs. How long are your cable runs between the guitar and the pedal and the pedal and the amp? I would try reducing the cable lengths, switching to higher grade cables, and/or looking into a buffer pedal. Of course, using a buffer pedal defeats the purpose of true bypass, but true bypass might not be what's best for your tone in your current rig.
suburbandit Thanks for answering ! I use a 15' feet cable to my pedal and another 15' feet to my amp. My amp is a fender champion100 ! And I run my pedal with a 9v batterie instead of an AC adapter, maybe it does a difference ? I don't know if you can help me more with that said but thank you so much for answering me ! (Sorry for my bad english)
Excellent comparative. I have a weird problem with the US Dream when I combine it in my switcher looper chain with other pedals, since sometimes I use another pedal before or after to achieve more colors. The issue is the US Dream is the only one of my stompboxes that when combined with another pedal it does sound altered, resulting in a notorious loss of body and frequency as being electronically out of phase, it sounds nasal and lifeless. I did a test placing the US Dream before a guitar preamp that has phase change button, and effectively reversing the polarity completely solves the problem and the sound is full and present when combined. I do not know if I got a defective unit or that is part of the Joyo design, but when using the Suhr Riot that does not happen. Any report or experience about?
You are making great videos and explanations about these pedals man! Keep on going! And I have a question for you, what do you think it would sound on a Strat?
the JOYO Us Dream really can be used for a Strat neck pickup jazzy tone shaper, tone all the way up ( and then fiddle with the rest...), just bought a third one for 26€s!, if you want Suhr Riot-thingy, try a MOSKY Crazy Tone...! Cheerios Amigos : )
TheFireroom I would say ultimate drive if you’re leaning towards more classic rock and classic metal. This US dream is going to give more modern heavy tones
Which one is better for Guns and Roses tone, this one or MXR Distortion III or TC Electronic Dark Matter? I don't have a Marshall but I have British amp simulator by Joyo ( sounds like a marshall ) and thinking about boosting the distortion by one of these pedals to get a really good lead tone.. I live in Iraq and it sucks here we don't have them so I can't try them, I'm buying them from a store that ships to Iraq and that store has MXR Distortion and Joyo US Dream and TC Electronic Dark Matter.. Great video btw!!
+junkky sixx I just checked it out, it sounds really great! I'm still not sure which one should I get lol I'll probably get more than one distortion pedal, Thanks for letting me know about hot plexi tho (:
Any opinions on how it compares to Suhr Riot? Because it seems that almost everywhere they are comparing those two. If we leave out the price tag, how do they compare sound wise?
Weimerweeeners...such regal, svelt Looking dogs...US dream, bought it right after this vid.$29on amazon, surh clone to a T...yah,,cheap, loud, rockin! Why overspend?
Hi! I would like to buy a Metal Pocket, but I also neeed some "heavy riffin" and a little sustain sound likee Big Muff.. What kind of pedals is better for it? US Dream,or Ultimate Drive??
Would you recommend the U.S. Dream pedal or the crunch distortion pedal for a blink-182 sound I want to cover some of there music but I want the right sound PLEASE HELP!! Me out!!
Great and useful review. The Joyo Us Dream really roars !!! Take a look at our UA-cam Channel: you can hear this amazing purple pedal played live on "Nobody's Wife" and "Don't Bother" (both crunch and lead sound). The Stratocaster is equipped with a Seymour Duncan HotRails (at the bridge) and it's plugged into a TwinReverb.
OUCH! Dude, you hit me in the face with the guitar's headstock! Now get some sleep, dammit. Oh, and nice video. I love you, as we share a hairline and northern European ancestors. :)
Hey, now im using mxr dist +. For me its nice classic distortion pedal, sound like Randy rhoads but i need more gain and more pro tone. I dont know, maybe go distortion and overdrive like Tube Scr. I have only one chanel tube amp

for the money, is the best pedal that I know of.
cheers!
The behringer SF300 super fuzz, this pedal, and a 30$ Klon Klone, and a cheap univibe is literally my pedalboard right now
I am buying a US Dream just because of this demo. Thanks for the great work!
i watch most of your vids then realise i never subbed, doh. subbed now, you sir are a legend, a hilarious, informative legend!! thanks for the vids
Thanks Tommy, there is more stuff coming... thanks for subbing....
Great pedal ! As alwas, good reviex too !
I love the way you make your reviews, alwas good sound and it's funny, we never get bored, congrats !
Your really deserve much more views.
+Youri Poulin Thanks !
The best distor pedal on the market, the real Brithish rock sound. No noise..., its perfect.
Love your vids dude, production values are great. Also, your overall cadence of speaking reminds me of the character Dinesh from Silicon Valley!
The improvisation was amazing
Ordered mine yesterday for $40 from China to Australia, i've owned and still own a Joyo Pedal and for the price they're great value.
You are right, most metal pedals have no tone... but I am trying to find out what you are trying to say with your post... this pedal is a high gain pedal, but I would not see it as a metal pedal...
7:00 was awesome! Great playing. This little cheapie pedal is surprisingly good for $40.
Cool demo brother. Just ordered one for $25 and change. It sounds as good as the Riot by Suhr. Oh yeah! You have a pretty cool dog!
Tremendous pedal. Outstanding track.
Listened to this through my laptop speakers! YOLO
+theoriginaldimi Tell 'em
I love it
I bought mine after watching this video! I posted a sound test on my channel this weekend.

Dude, this was fun to watch and informative. Great work, thanks for making it! Keep on rockin, man.
It bothers me that they couldn't just capitalize the S in US. Nice demo. Been watching a lot of your pedal review videos and they are very thorough. Thanks.
Us dream. Me never notice it until now.
Us Dream is just wrong. We Dream might have been acceptable but might be confused with Wee Dream. Nobody wants to wet the bed.
Very nice Lead - because of that, I am buying the Pedal
Great review, great pedal, excellent playing...keep on!!!
I love the Why-maranger just poocheling around in the background.
for heavy riffs, but not metal, the Ultimate Drive is great... very chunky, power amp like distortion...
you could push it with the Vintage Overdrive, that could give you more gain... what amp do you use...that is essential...
Great review! Would you recommend this or the JF-04 for thrash metal and such?
Yes, huge difference... there is a video comparing 8 Joyo OD and DIST pedals, maybe there you can hear it better... right next to each other...
hey man as always great explanation and awsome licks and chops, you have been of great help to me, THANK YOU
is this the pedal that caused a riot on many forums?
Hah - yes suhr, it is. Just without the "voice" switch".
Yes man, keep doing this kind of videos :)
Such an inspiration

Try lowering the volume on the pedal and then raise the volume on the amp with the gain at about 730. Shazam! Overdrive!
Just got my Us Dream. Not the highest build quality on the outside, but whatever they put inside more than makes up for it.
Good pedal, "maybe" a little too muddy, but it's very good or the best choice for that money... cheap but very good. Talking from my experience... that pedal and mesa boogie emulator are perfect to caver a lot of rock and heavy songs. Mister Henning made a great test-demo-video.

You da man! Tks
Wunderbar!, Tausend Dank
man you are fast becoming my favorite reviewer. lol thumbs up
Thanks you... always nice to hear that !
I have a Joyo Deluxe Crunch, and I uses it as my main rhymth sounds. Now want order this US Dream as a lead/solo guitar part.
Hello Henning, I just got myself this pedal after watching your review and demo. (I hope joyo gives u commisions lol) My pedal however has quite a loud clicking when I click the switch. I know its cheap n what not, but is it normal for this pedal?
Well after watching this video again I think its fairly normal
aldringlenn Yes, I think its normal !
Really good demo , i decided to buy this pedal because of you ! But i have a little question , when I pass my signal through I loose like 25% of brightness in my tone compared to when I plug my guitar straight to my amp ? Can you tell me if it's normal or what do you think about it ?

You Sir, just made my day! Thank you so much! Smile keep on standing! P.S. excellent review!
alucardearl666 Thanks !
Very helpful. You're my hero!
I own this pedal and i love it.

You are making great videos and explanations about these pedals man! Keep on going! And I have a question for you, what do you think it would sound on a Strat?
+junkky sixx it would sound fine... a bit thinner with more bite....
+EytschPi42 I think that too, and I am gonna buy it for sure. Thanks man!
+junkky sixx Is there any boost pedal or clean boost form Joyo that you can recommend?
When you recorded this demo did you use any kind of noise gate? Because it sounds amazing!
Nope, no noise gate !
Awesome!!
the JOYO Us Dream really can be used for a Strat neck pickup jazzy tone shaper, tone all the way up ( and then fiddle with the rest...), just bought a third one for 26€s!, if you want Suhr Riot-thingy, try a MOSKY Crazy Tone...! Cheerios Amigos : )
Which would you choose for a cover band style distortion, the Joyo US Dream or Ultimate drive?
TheFireroom I would say ultimate drive if you’re leaning towards more classic rock and classic metal. This US dream is going to give more modern heavy tones
Excuseme but this type of pedal you don't tink that Is necessary try with a single coil Guitar?? Is very difficult by undersyand!??
are you talking about Riot pedal when you said purple pedal?
yes.
I could have said "DUH!" but I said yes... because I am Minnesota nice.
Great review as always! Would it work for some Black Sabbath tones?
Ñañuco try a black secret/ rat clone
Which one is better for Guns and Roses tone, this one or MXR Distortion III or TC Electronic Dark Matter? I don't have a Marshall but I have British amp simulator by Joyo ( sounds like a marshall ) and thinking about boosting the distortion by one of these pedals to get a really good lead tone.. +Rofael Nano What I learned from Henning. maybe some plexi pedal can create that sound, but it is better if he answers :)
+junkky sixx I just checked it out, it sounds really great! I'm still not sure which one should I get lol I'll probably get more than one distortion pedal, Thanks for letting me know about hot plexi tho (:
+Rofael Nano Despite the name the MXR Distortion III is really an overdrive pedal.
+lousyromulan I got a Marshall JVM410c I don't need a distortion pedal anymore ahhaahah
Hahaha that is cool :)
Probably the best distortion pedal ever built. (imho) for the price at least...
I would say that you can use it for Metal
Hi very good review, the Link to the MP3 of the backing track is not working....thanks any way
I mean - it looks like you should know what you’re doing with all those serious looking heads behind you- but this sounds fantastic!
Any opinions on how it compares to Suhr Riot? Because it seems that almost everywhere they are comparing those two. If we leave out the price tag, how do they compare sound wise?
Thanks for an excellent review sir.
Sounds great, thanks brother.
Is it the same as Harley Benton crunch distortion?
Weimerweeeners...such regal, svelt Looking dogs...US dream, bought it right after this vid.$29on amazon, surh clone to a T...yah,,cheap, loud, rockin! Why overspend?
I ordered it, so we'll see if it's worth those 40 bucks. From what I see, I think it can totally replace my Mad Professor Stone Grey.
Great Distortion 👍👍 very cool
Check out the setting allknobs at 2 o clock. Wow! Great
My big friend! The link does not work for backing track.
Hi! I would like to buy a Metal Pocket, but I also neeed some "heavy riffin" and a little sustain sound likee Big Muff.. What kind of pedals is better for it? US Dream,or Ultimate Drive??
Rock on!
Awesome!!!!
ufff, buen demo, muy buen sonido y que demo porcierto!
Es mi pedal favorito junto con el OD100 Behringer, ambos son geniales y económicos en precio.
You're getting old. But wooow what a life you have been living my friend
Great Malmsteen tone at 7:02
Could I use this one for Grunge like AiC or Nirvana? Or wich other pedal would you recommend ?
ALL BALD GUITARISTS ARE GOOD PERIOD. LESS HAIR MORE SKILLS AND TECHNIQUE THUMBS UP!!
Would you recommend the U.S. Dream pedal or the crunch distortion pedal for a blink-182 sound I want to cover some of there music but I want the right sound PLEASE HELP!! Me out!!
definitely Crunch Distortion
+EytschPi42 thank you so much!!
It's amazing what a $30 pedal can do to improve a $3k guitar. haha!
Do you think this pedal is good for Led Zeppelin?
adrien arce i think the Crunch overdrive is more LZ style
gud song,, nice chord progression backing, melodic solo,, that dirt box would work for this,,
How would you compare this to the Joyo Crunch?
Michael Wojciak The Crunch is more direct and not as smooth as the US Dream
Buen pedal yo lo tengo, y para el precio es el mejor
Great and useful review. The Joyo Us Dream really roars !!! Take a look at our UA-cam Channel: you can hear this amazing purple pedal played live on "Nobody's Wife" and "Don't Bother" (both crunch and lead sound). The Stratocaster is equipped with a Seymour Duncan HotRails (at the bridge) and it's plugged into a TwinReverb.
This pedal blows away many others that are 4 to 5 times it's price.
will sound like a marshall ?
Toca backan este pelao!!!
this or nux classic distortion?
Does this pedal exist in the Harley Benton series? If yes, what is its name there?
Search No, HB does not have this series.
EytschPi42
Tahnk you. Not hard to find Joyo's anyway.
OUCH! Dude, you hit me in the face with the guitar's headstock! Now get some sleep, dammit. Oh, and nice video. I love you, as we share a hairline and northern European ancestors. :)
What about for van halen ? Eruption to be a little more specific.
Is this the same sound as the Kmise US Dream?
Yes. Most of the Asian companies just cycle clones.
It can be used as a boost?!
best joyo for brown sound
Hey, now im using mxr dist +. For me its nice classic distortion pedal, sound like Randy rhoads but i need more gain and more pro tone. I dont know, maybe go distortion and overdrive like Tube Scr. I have only one chanel tube amp
model of the guitar?
Good for metal if i have got emg 81/85?
Modern Eagle PRS like that.....You're probably looking at no less of a cost than 10k!
