I never thought about it as anything other than a comedy music group. It wasn't until later that I learned that I had grown up a bit privileged to live in an area where this kind of rhetoric just can't be taken serious. However things have definitely changed and people have gotten very sensitive about what people joke about more or less nation wide it feels like.
