One of the nice little thrills about watching this show was when they cracked each other up!

The silliest thing in over the top is when one of the contestant chugs a quart of motor oil before a match.
Yeah, I am still pondering that.
Even funnier is when he's chuging Alka-Seltzer after that🤣🤣🤣
Roger got his ears lowered. They really get the giggles in this one.
The actress who plays the madam in Working Girls steals that movie.
I love S&E...I must admit I had to backtrack at 12:07 a few times to make sure Gene wasn't using profanity...
They could've just called it Death.
Over the Top, yes it certainly was. Such an eighties cheese fest, full of bad acting from annoying characters. Stallone has made some great movies, but this wasn't one of them. As for his kid,. I would have booted him out of the truck after about 5 mins. The most tedious, obnoxious character in the whole film.
I’m a sucker for Kenny Loggins movie songs and Over The Top had one of his lesser known ones in the shadow of Top Gun and Caddyshack. Maybe it’s mostly nostalgia since I grew up with that movie but I think they were too brutal to it. Didn’t think the kid was nearly as bad as they made his character out to be. I think this and Dutch with Ed O’Neal got shredded unfairly. Both are very cliched but they had similar problems with Dutch as they both didn’t like the kid. Again I didn’t think that kid was so bad either. Will admit I once showed Over The Top to a friend who didn’t grow up with it and 10 minutes in the movie she verbatim said “What am I doing here?” 😅

Agreed both cliche but I still like them , I'm a sucker for most cliche 80's and early 90's movies , I prefer Dutch more though
but Ethan Embre's best film Is the late 90's teen classic Can't Hardly Wait.
@@fawkkyutuu8851 I like Dutch better as well, and is always interesting to me to find another person who even saw it, much less like it. I think I only knew two people in my so far 38 years on this planet who have seen it as well lol

Over The Top was dumb as hell. Stallone was just on autopilot and I couldn't stand his bratty son.

Disagree. It was an enjoyable good bad movie. Pure 80s
@@ilovebrandnewcarpets I would say Road House or Death Wish 3 are better "so bad they are good" 80's action films. Like Roger said, the interesting characters were the other people participating in the tournament. Stallone's character was rather dull and his whole dead beat dad scenario is really tedious. Bronson in Death Wish had a rough charisma, Swayze in Road House had an attractive stoicism and mystique about him.

Working Girls is overrated
My sister and brother-in-law accidentally rented this instead of the comedy Working Girl. They really regretted the mistake, saying Working Girls was depressing and slow.
They were the worst critics who both got it wrong ALL the time! Yet they had a show 🤣🤣🤣
So why are you watching it?
