i've never seen a father treat her daughter like him. He is so caring and full affection, like she treat dagam such as little kid. You can see the way he looks dagam and his gestures towards her too. Most father that really love her daughter sometimes just treat her daughter with a gift or give anything she wants. imho

That's called ampalaya or bitter melon to Philippines. Which we absolutely love. Ways to remove bitterness: - Removed the insides throughly - Cut it into thin slices - mix salt into the slices and let it sit for at least a minute, then rinsed it with warm water (don't rub it to much or leave it to long, so nutrients won't be lost in the process) We love it sauted with egg.

in Indonesia a lot of people eat paria. usually we sauté it. previously paria have been covered in salt and let stand for a few minutes. or we usually eat it by steaming it and in it we usually fill it with marine ingredients and Indonesian spices. you have to try it. healthy food and refreshing
oh so karela(Hindi) is called balsam pear too. i knew it as bittergourd we eat karela alot in India! our household use salt and other spices, close with it thread and fry it in curd to get rid of the bitterness. i personally don't enjoy them but my family loves it lol. my grandpa loves the bitterness of it though. he enjoys it as pickle.

Here in ph we cook that bitter vegetable with egg. We stir fry them together. We also soak them in salt water before cooking to make it less bitter ☺️
