Like, a second round lead card? Unlikely, especially in MPO. I feel like he could compete against 920 rated players, but not 1020 rated players. Rooting for the underdog!
One thing about Brodie: He is really, really good at discussing disc golf with the experienced pros for the sake of others. He asks good questions. He probes. He brings out their wisdom for the rest of us. I've probably enjoyed that over the last couple of months more than anything.
I agree but it drives me crazy when he talks over paul or cuts him off. Like this is the best player in the world and you're gonna keep talking over him while he's trying to teach you?
Which is why, like him or hate him, he's good for the sport. He shines a bright spotlight on disc golf. As far as the talking over Paul, he and Paul seem to have developed an actual friendship so it's just two friends chatting. Might also have an ADD/ADHD element going on...
Please do more of this. Just got to the 6:20 mark and I’m listening to Paul describe how to approach your throw on uphill lies, by coming in at an angle instead of straight on so your hips are already turned. THAT INFO IS GOLD!!
Dont hate on Brodie guys. I wasn't into the trick shot stuff he did but he brought light to disc golf for me and got me to start entering tournaments and having fun. I'm really enjoying learning about this sport and hes what brought me to Jomez..Take care golfers
heh...we all hope he shreds it, but I also know that new players thrown into the deep end nearly always get influenced by what their card mates do; he'll probably try to throw a McBeth line or two, and end up with a double bogey or three. It's great to see, and I hope he sticks to *HIS* game and has a blast!
@@Peterisheree It wasn't a specific jab..Hes gonna be on one of the feature cards and I know alot of guys have been doing this a long time trying to get on a featured card. It would be kind of shitty for Brody to just walk on one so early....So I guess hes getting a little bit of shit for it from other players. Which is kind of understandable
@@JessCat606 Yeah that could happen. Might be apart of the learning process though too. Either way it goes it's gonna be fun to watch. I think hes somewhat use to the pressure from ultimate but it's probably a different kind when it's all eyes on you rather than a team effort
100% agree. The frank conversation between the GOAT of a sport and someone trying to improve is extremely helpful in understanding some of the high level thought that Paul has. Please keep doing this Jomez, wonderful idea.
Seeing the nuance in Paul's tips on this practice round really show why he is so good. He really thinks through all the variables. The vibe of this video is so cool, too. Never seen Paul so relaxed. He's just chillin out there.
My favorite part on Brody joining the disc golf scene and getting covered is he is far more relatable than the top pros. It gives me more of a look as to what it would be like to play with them(even though Brody is still probably better than me and most average players). I especially like this practice round theme with Macbeth! Well done JomezPro
I've been a huge fan of brodie smith since his days at UF. And I've been watching jomez for about 2 years now. Seeing these 2 come together is awesome for me.
Would love to see some more of these with two different disc golfers each episode... Like a practice round where they discuss their gameplans & such with Big Jerm & Sexton or Eric Oakley & Simon etc etc
Fantastic! I love this "fly on the wall" long form type content. You can really see Paul's (and Brodie's) thought process in preparing for the tournament.
Paul has gotten so damn good with media, especially since him & Brodie started doing videos together. It's offering some amazing insight into the sport & the mind of the GOAT. 🐐
This one of the real nice video, jomez did a great job . Listening in with being able to hear them talk. Plus Paul teaching the way to think about playing for tournaments.
Loved this, favorite part at the end: *obstructed in the woods* "It doesn't look like you've got much of shot there" *makes it from a knee* "But then again, you're Paul McBeth."
This was easily one of the best videos for course management I have ever watched. Paul is just so insightful about managing your misses... definitely using this tomorrow for league!
I've been a casual player for a very long time. I get so much good info out of the Paul and Brodie discussions and my game has improved by multiple strokes because of them. I must confess that I was not a fan of the old, loud Brodie but he's changed for the better and I feel like, ultimately (no pun intended) he will be good for the game because of the attention he is bringing to it.
I LOVE this kind of video content. Hearing the perspectives of the players in preparation for a big event like this helps us learn how to get better in a practical way. Thanks for this Jomez!
Omg I love love love this. I love that Paul was very vocal during the whole round. It feels like I am on the course and I will watch this repeatedly for the lessons. Hope to see y’all Saturday!
@brodiesmith21 It must be nice having Paul playing practice rounds with you right before your first tournament. His advice is pure gold. Definitely discuss with Kelsey what might be a thoughtful gift to give Paul.
I'm loving this style of video. It is great to get into the mind of Paul and see his thought process. I'd love to see more pre-round coverage like this!
I've been following Brodie off and on since he made his shift into discgolf and this has been the most entertaining and enjoyable to watch. I love it. Thanks for the content.
This Duo is what the disc golf community needed idk how many new people I've heard of starting because of these guys..not to mention the fine tunings all Brodie and pauls videos have done for my discing game Shout out to the real MVPs #Brodieandpaulforever
I think people take for granted how good jomezpro camera guys are at getting good angles. It's so smooth to watch you really dont think about it and that's what makes them great.
Dang... This was pure gold. Paul's coaching is phenomenal. He dropped so many gems in this video! Thank, JomezPro, for putting this together. You guys are the best.
Just voicing appreciation for that camera work, keeping it smooth while backpedaling down uneven paths and keeping the players in frame as they talk between holes.
This is probably the best content on youtube ive ever seen. Theres something so special about what we’re seeing here. Both with who these people are in relation to each other but also how they talk about what theyre doing and interact with each other.
When Brodie gets a season under his belt, I can’t imagine how far he’s going to be juicing drives. His power potential is nuts on both forehands and backhands
Yeah... well power isn't everything just like in real golf its all about finesse and control!! And Brodie seems like he could be a decent player eventually but to get to the pro level he needs a lot of work...You don't just get the equipment, dress the part and befriend the top pro players to become a pro, you should play for a few years and see how good you become and if you're good enough then try to be pro.
its awesome to see how serious brodie is taking this! always open to learn and listen what he can do to improve. it's very motivational for people to really up their game.
This is by far the best video you have ever made here on Jomez. Such a great candid conversation with 2 friends and Brodie knowing what to ask and Paul so great at explaining his throws and why he throws them. It's not because "it works for me". There is a mmethod to everything.
I am absolutely loving this kind of coverage and break down of the game. I'm learning so many little tricks and I love how Paul Mcbeth is so good at explaining each hole and breaking down each shot. Jomez, Paul and Brodie all great work. TWO HUGE THUMBS UP!!!
I think this is the best video on disc golf I’ve ever seen! I am learning so many things I never knew or thought of. Do more of these! Thanks Brodie and Paul (and JoMez).
Loving this content. Hearing the guys talk about the shots and the reasons rather than just watching them is insightful and entertaining. Keep it up y’all
I watch a decent amount of disc golf related tips and info and this by far has taught me the most out of anything. Just the conversations between shots and Paul's insight is extremely helpful for people who play but don't have a pro to give suggestions and really explain why they take certain shots. Especially on the first wooded hole talking about how a backhand wants to fight the woods on the right and kick back into the middle and how to play possibly making an error but having it still be a decent outcome. Great video and please make more like it!
Please make more of these videos with other Pro golfers! This was super helpful and hearing their conversations throughout was great. They answered a lot of questions I had in general about disc golf.
The disc golf community is far and away one of the most inclusive communities I've been a part of. As a new player, every golfer I came across was excited to bring me into the sport, and I think this is the attitude we should show Brodie or any other newcomer. It's been disappointing to see some in the disc golf community display negativity toward Brodie and what he, Paul, and Discraft are trying to do. He's a tremendous athlete, who's relatable and who's doing his part to grow the sport. Now, even as an experienced disc golfer, I really enjoy these videos and I'm glad to see JomezPro get involved with what these guys are doing. It's great content for new and experienced players alike, and I'm excited to see where this helps take the game. Thanks guys!
This is an incredible format. I learned more watching this one video than I have from the dozens and dozens of "how to" videos I have seen so far. I am playing in my first tournament this week end and will definitely be taking tidbits from this with me. I would love to see more like this! Thank you for all you do!
You guys should definitely do more of these videos. This was awesome to watch the players interact on a practice round and talk about their shots and what to do in certain situations. Very insightful and very helpful. Definitely would love to see more of these types of videos.
It's so incredible watching someone with so much talent they far exceed their experience level. Brodie can throw so well already, but he hasn't played long enough to make a habit of cleaning his disc or other small "common sense" things like that. He will be a weapon if he sticks with Disc Golf.
This is probably the best video I have ever seen for how to look at course. Brodie is every 900 rated person in his questions. Paul though has the answers in the technical way.
I used to watch Brodie when he blew up a couple of years ago and recently fell in love with disc golf, such an informative/nostalgic video for me I’ve never even played disc golf! I only know it from the internet and I will definitely introduce my children to the beautiful game
You guys definitely need more of these, this was super informative and a good look at a course before a tournament. This is my favorite Jomez video yet.
Very cool video. Anyone interested in improving their game should be interested hearing Paul McB coach Brodie. Hearing why Paul throws a certain shot gives us an insight into his mental game that we don't usually get to see. Thanks JomezPro for the behind the scenes coverage!
This format is super enjoyable to watch. I feel like a casual round with 2-3 pros mic'd up could be some super awesome content in the future/off season. Great job Jomez!
Watching Brody Smith with ultimate, then those viral trick shot videos, then the injury and the end of pro ultimate. Then golf and vlogging and now disc golf! Glad to see he combined the two things What a great ambassador for someone just getting back into disc golf.
I love to see Brodie getting better and taking the knowledge from Paul, but I think my favorite part of this is just listening to Paul talk about every shot so in depth. Almost like paying for a coach to talk you through a round but instead its Paul just being who he is. Really enjoyed this video!
I really like this level of coaching caught on video. Paul is speaking from years of experience and the things he has learned that may not be apparent to those of us who just got started or who haven't put in as many rounds. So many things to glean from this video.
Love all of the takes on Brodie getting into disc golf! But at the end of the day this buzz is good for the sport. Period. And frankly it's really cool seeing the best in the game coach and prepare this guy who's new to tournaments (feels like it could be any of us) and watch this journey. I will definitely continue tuning in. Great work and keep it up, guys. And good luck Brodie.
This was great to come back and watch. I recall watching this when it first came out being so impressed with Brodie. Now, 8 Monday the later, his improvement since then is phenomenal! Keep it up, Bro-D. Paul, come mentor me! Haha
Brodie is such a genuine person. You can tell hes a professional athlete. He is putting everything in practice, extremely disciplined, and a great listener and learner. I bet he will be a big name of this sport even if its just the fact he is bringing a lot more exposure to the community, I think his skill will grow quickly with who he is surrounding himself with tho. Great video and I learned quite a bit from this! Also love the duo of McBeth and Brodie. Good content together.
I think I'd call this video a series something like "Inside the mind of a pro" or "How to think and play like a world champion". Awesome info about playing solid as well as very entertaining . Really love the video Jomez!
I’m be honest here... When I first got introduced to this sport, it was through some trick shots that BroFive had done when they were a thing. And on the side where the videos are, I saw JomezPro on there and it got me intrigued and interested. So, I saw some videos and at first glance, I didn’t like Paul’s vibe for some reason don’t know why. But those were on tournaments only. I hated how he would win every tournament lmao. Maybe it’s because he’s more focused and all that. But I wanted to give it some time to give him a chance for me to like him. So, then after seeing him in these videos with Brodie on his channel, I started seeing his personality a bit more and in all honesty, I’ve turned to like him now. So, Paul, if you see this comment by any chance, hope everything goes well in this tourney and in future ones. Brodie, as for you, just keep doing you bro. I’m sure you’ve been an inspiration to many with the change of paths sort of speak into disc golfing. Hope everything goes well for you as you hope and plan, and may God bless the both of you. 🙌🏻🙏🏻 Thanks JomezPro for all the content you guys put out. Some of the best I’ve seen here on UA-cam. 👌🏻

no, just cause he's youtube famous doesn't mean it's cool suddenly. but i see it gives you views so whatever.

I agree but it drives me crazy when he talks over paul or cuts him off. Like this is the best player in the world and you're gonna keep talking over him while he's trying to teach you?
Yeah he definitely has that social/communication/presenter thing on lock. I could see him being really good on commentary in a few years.
Which is why, like him or hate him, he's good for the sport. He shines a bright spotlight on disc golf. As far as the talking over Paul, he and Paul seem to have developed an actual friendship so it's just two friends chatting. Might also have an ADD/ADHD element going on...

I love to see Brodie getting better and taking the knowledge from Paul, but I think my favorite part of this is just listening to Paul talk about every shot so in depth. Almost like paying for a coach to talk you through a round but instead its Paul just being who he is. Really enjoyed this video!
Paul and Brodie is the kind of Buddy Cop movie I'm here for!
I really like this level of coaching caught on video. Paul is speaking from years of experience and the things he has learned that may not be apparent to those of us who just got started or who haven't put in as many rounds. So many things to glean from this video.
This is awesome just because Paul talks through how he thinks during tournament play. I like these.
Have you guys got new cameras or something because the video quality is better/smoother than ever!
Great job Brodie and Paul. Part of Paul's greatness is his knowledge. These guys were great to listen to.
Best disc golf video, it changed how I approach tournament and holes. Thanks guys
