Missy may be my favorite player that discraft currently sponsors. She just seems to always be happy.
So grateful to finally have some baskets in the ground in NYC! It’s a short course but very fun, and in a lovely park. Can’t wait to see all the people that get introduced to disc golf at Highland. Way to go PMF!
Super impressed with what the Paul McBeth Foundation has accomplished so far! Introducing disc golf and bringing courses to where it really matters is THE most effective way of growing the sport.
Paul McBeth is the Patron Saint of Disc Golf
What an awesome little course! Alex and Alex should be really proud of their efforts to bring disc golf to NYC. They are great ambassadors for the sport and I wish them continued success in the future to help grow the sport there.
I really love how the designers took into consideration others safety! Especially how disc golf can have a negative impact other than what is intended. A group of disc golfers here in my city built a course with baskets near the playgrounds. The course wasn’t very long and some guy threw a high speed driver on one of the holes. Of course, not everyone knows what a four-call means and a lady got hit in the head by the guys disc. Sadly, she was hospitalized with a deep gash and within a week the city revoked the permit for the course and pulled it. The story was in the news and disc golf as a whole got a bunch of hate.
I 'liked' this but of course I don't like the story. I think disc golf is ridiculously safe, as sports go, but it is played in public parks and (sadly) most people at said parks don't understand that people are throwing frisbees as hard as they possibly can. (Even when there are literally over 100 disc golfers disc-golfing at a "park-style" disc golf course, regular folks will walk their dogs down the fairway, take a phone call on the fairway, take a piss and then have a nap on our fairway, even when there are people playing disc golf all around them, on literally every hole. Share the park-my fucking salty asshole. It's like if a dad were playing catch with his son in a park, and someone just walks in between them, back and forth so that they stop playing catch, and the and the idiot person takes out a blanket and lies down for some R&R, directly in between a father and son playing catch. I take it back; they are not idiot morons - they are straightforwardly evil people.
id love to spread the love of disc golf to the special needs and people with disabilities thank you so much paul mcbeth your amazing person and love what you do for the sport hope all is well
Scott Stokley brings his "Blue Power" disc golf program to people with autism.
McBeth is a double legend. Not only a world champion, but he brings disc golf to Africa, Mexico, etc. Paul McBeth Foundation.
Paul brings disc golf to the wilds of New York City. Way to go.
So happy to hear about this. The only thing New York City was missing.
Lmao yea that's what New York is missing
Thinking the same but glad that they have a place to play
I think Van Courtland Park in the Bronx has the space for a full size 18 hole Disc Golf course. It already has a stick golf course. And the subway and buses go there, too :)
this is great, no matter where you go, you play what is there and have a blast! Well done!
There's so many amazing courses outside the city. It's about time that NYC has some good courses in the city. Awesome! 👍
It was nice to hear Paul mention Chicago. Was beginning to think that course had been forgotten. Are there any plans to get those baskets in permanently? Would be great for the city!
Missy is such a great ambassador to disc golf. I commend the foundation for recruiting her, great choice. Exciting for the future of disc golf.
Real baskets, in friggin Brooklyn/Queens?!!?!! This is so unbelievably cool. I mean chill video but also I mean I'm losing my mind a little bit. I've been to this park, never saw a frisbee. Been to NYC lotsa times, never saw a frisbee. Now y'all got baskets? Real baskets, in friggin Brooklyn/Queens?!!?!!
"it's so quiet here" - barely audible with traffic noise in background. Had to laugh! I'm stoked NYC has this though! Kudos.
Wonderful job with working with what you have!
LFG PAUL MCBETH!!!
Aced hole 9 today - super runnable!
I feel like the best way to get disc golf to grow on a global scale is to get it into the Olympics. I feel like it fits very nicely with all the other events.
Getting disc golf in New York City is a big deal. Well done!
disc golf lets go
Vary cool. A sign on how to play and basic rules. Might help beginners 😊
Paul, I think you maybhave just gotten use to the noise as folks tend to do after being in a big city for a few hours. While it's definitely quiter in the park, it's still really loud. The background noise levels are really high. Sometimes so much so that it was hard to hear you through the mic.
Still, great pitch and put course for folks in NY. Hope they enjoy it.
On some holes you need a fairway driver come on New York
My wife and daughter would both be throwing drivers
nice
Yeah its so quiet
I would think every patch Of green in a city that large would have someone "parked" .asking disc golf near impossible
I was hit in my head with a Shark mid range disc while while waiting to tee off on next hole....and considering how much it hurt.... a beveled or sharper edge driver disc is a serious problem if your young or very old if hit with full power of a advanced player.....if holes are only 200 ft then putter or mid is all you need and kee0s the cost down for most to play
This looks like a good "Safari" type course that regulars to the park will establish themselves one day fir each of thrse holes to expand the layout to 18 hike using the existing 9 baskets
Weak sauce honestly not impressed
You guys are amazing !!!! Ty for helping the community and awareness of the sport we love... !
I had so much FUN playing this course. It's short but some fantastic lines. I can't wait to see some pro tour players who learned to play on this course!
21:07 Imagine getting an ace on a McBeth course, IN FRONT OF MCBETH. 😮 What a legend!
he had the hat on too!!!! sickkkkk
We have a course like this in Grand Rapids, Hughes Park. It's an 18 hole course right in a park, 9 baskets but has 18 tee pads. Maybe they can implement that to the New York course.
Missy had to be there being from NY and pretty close to the city. I’m and upstater, but I root for Missy every damn time she’s out there.
You should bring a course to Seoul there’s no courses in Korea😭
Next stop: CENTRAL PARK! 🎉
I’m definitely playing that course, the next time I’m in NYC.
I was hoping this was filmed!
That was great! Could have been any city park.
This looks like a fun little course. A great design for what you had to work with. Reminds me of a 13 hole course we have near Minneapolis called Riverfront 13. I love these midrange/putter courses. Lots of fun for everyone.
*It's crazy how good these two "nobody's" are.* They are practically as good as the female pro player.
Alex Hoyle can toss!!!! awesome watch
I'm SO upset that I missed out on meeting you last week in Salem, OR. My buddy and his friend ran into you and Nate Sexton at Woodmansee park, and it boggled my mind that you would play there! It's a fun course, and now every time I go I'm looking for you or Nate or anybody else I might recognize. Awesome video and thanks for what you've done for the sport.
East cost sucks lol first course
Another stop to add, when I visit NY. 💪🏼🥏
