Wow. 500 hr club for someone who hit 317? What is that? At least a $800 loss on the box and im being generous.
Yeah, when it was George Brett I though, whoa, how did I not know he had 500 home runs. Well, because he doesn’t.

And the foil on those cards seem to be a little scuffed as well.
I was thinking this too. Neither card seems to have a chance at grading a 10. Maybe not even above an 8, depending on the graders mood that day.
Damn Jabs if I sponsored that video I’d want all the packaging too lol. Cringed when you took the knife to it and ripped the pack box lol.
I was cringing as well, BIG time! Packaging on high end stuff should probably be cared for as well as the cards, and ship it all to the buyer. Not on the mass printed stuff. Jabs opens thousands of packs a week though, probably was just in rip mode. lol

I normally don't say how people should spend their own money, but I just can't understand why people are dropping so much money on these high priced garbage drops. $1200 for this? For 2 cards? And one of them isn't even "correct". If you have $1200 to burn then good for you, but I can think of so many better things I could do with that money than drop it on 2 cards which also have quality control issues.
Yeah I just don’t understand those cards are worth like $300 at best. You could have bought like 6+ cards for the price of that box. QC is trash print lines, finger prints, scratches, wrong player, all for $1200… yikes 😳
You could get a slew of graded HOF RC’s for $1000 and still have enough to take the family out to a nice dinner
@@josephbuono4392 and that's why I'll take vintage every single time. Those cards have a higher floor and are just more desirable in my eyes. They're also part of the history of the game.

A Panini Desmond Ridder 1/1 card just sold for $26 on ebay lol. It was a $1200 box it came out of.
@@markthompson7503that's insane. I'll stick to the more affordable side of the hobby. Personally I'd rather rip a case of low end trying to get low numbered cards and other hits. To me that's where the most excitement and enjoyment come from.

He coined it 'Bidenomics', if you recall, though he has lessened his use of the term lately (lol). So yeah our President thinks he himself has alot to do with it, so in fact he does.
I saw another opening. Had the same setup for Brett. It also had Austin Wells as a Yankee legend. 😂 Clownshow of a product. Sad given the price.
Just a few years ago these boxes were $700... even then they weren't worth the risk.

I would be calling Topps ASAP and telling them about this BS. How did they advertise a box saying 500 homer club and put a card with a guy that didn't even reach 320. I guess topps has a bunch of 12 year olds placing their cards in these boxes.. embarrassing

I love watching these videos, and at the beginning of every one I think to myself, "Man, I gotta buy into one of these breaks!" But by the end I'm thinking, "No way will I ever gamble away my money on such a low-odds bet." I also wonder how long Topps will be able to get away with running its casino before card addicts wake up?

Ouch, my math doesn’t add up to anywhere near $1200 in value, seems to be a common theme with modern day Topps. They could’ve at least made more of an effort on the George Brett card and not just used 2 white swatches for the relic.

I love low end cards . I've spent the last 3 weeks going through 1981-1993 boxes lol cards are cards to me. I enjoy all the videos and information that's given thanks
Those cards aren't scuffed. They are tumbled like rare gemstones- hence the price. :)
If Topps wants to make luxury products they need luxury level quality control. The top parts on the face of those cards looked rough. Heck, maybe even throw in fancier packaging.
Why is the company getting away with putting a $400 product in a $1200 box?
Should contact topps about that George brett being in the 500 hr club box where it does not belong. He was a great hitter and player but not even part of the 350 home run club.
My question is how much income do you need to make to justify this purchase??!
If he wasn't called out for using excessive Pine Tar, Brett might have had a shot at 500 HRs.
That was brutal. A $1000 net loss by my estimation and a severe quality control error to add insult to injury.

Lmao these products just keep getting worse and worse. Not making your money back is practically a given at this point, but if I pay $1200 for a product, the people selling it to me at least need to be able to double check the stats before telling me George Brett is in the 500 home run club. Fanatics is really making their mark on the industry.

At that price point every relic should be an amazing patch, not your standard small square patches of jersey or bat. Ridiculous product that will never return value. Hard pass.
george brett 317 home runs, gerrit cole finally won cy young because his rival trevor bauer got kicked out of the MLB, plus scuffed foils and packaging was destroyed..... all for 1200 bucks.... dude got screwed.

Hmmm they clearly messed up the packaging lol. I ripped a box of this last night, pulled the same brett "sterling seasons" card but the box that held it had said "1980's all stars". Other card was a steve carlton /10 triple relic auto. Definitely a bit disappointing, I love this product but wish it was nearer 800. Would love to rip a case!
On the back of the Brett card it says “Sterling Seasons”

Theres so much wrong with this whole nonsence - cards that are worth nothing like the purchase price, a 500 club Home Run hitter who only hit just over 300, and ripping the incredible expensive boxes like they were Topps Series 1 boxes.... The box is all part of a luxury item to many people, people that have over a grand spare to waste on this over priced cr*p !!
