We built a homemade Greenhouse out of a TriState Carport frame. 20x20. It works amazing. Double layer plastic that is inflated with a blower motor. Harbor Freight Shade Cloth, and a Fan from lowes for cooling in the summer. heat it with a wood stove in the winter. Thanks for watching.

real nice job
Awesome!
Excellent video! I have the same carport the seller left when I bought my house. The home came with a 2000sq ft shop and 2 upper garages and a garage in the basement. I have 1 car! Needless to say, I looked for a way to move it to a sunny area and either cover it with clear panels or heavy gauge plastic. I contacted the manufacturer today to see how much to get a second one. I live in a heavy snow area. The carport is domed already, so it's the perfect frame. Thank you!
Hi guys, Irene here,, . We bought this property and it came with 2 carports. I told my husband how I thought we could convert one to a greenhouse but he said it wound be too much work.... Ha !!! Now he has no excuse !!!! Thanks for this video !!!
LOL. Now that is funny. I highly encourage you to make a carport Greenhouse. It works excellent!
Judging by your sun angle, you house put the greenhouse in the shade during winter months.
Very nice!
Thanks Dolly
I was looking for something exactly like this to place on a similar sized piece of property. This would be perfect for our homesteading needs. Thanks!
That's really cool, the way it inflates. I'd love to have one like that.
I would not want to have a greenhouse without the inflated plastic. It last longer too. Thanks BirdMan
Excellent. Consider rigging some hinges on those metal sides so you can prop them open in the summer heat. I know that some of the all plastic ones I've seen allow you to roll up those half walls
That was actually what i wanted to do. but it would be a good amount of work at this point. I also have the sides insulated for winter now too. so it would be more hassle than its worth. Perhaps if i build another i will do that. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for sharing. That was cool!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome Job!!! Love the simplicity.
Thanks for watching Charles Kiplinger.
Awesome green house!
Thanks
That's nice. Much better than the hoop house I was planning.
Thanks. I think this was a cheaper option!
That is so awesome! Very impressed
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Great deal on the structure!
Thanks! Yeah it was pretty cheap.
Great job!
thanks!
Awesome man! I'm in the early planing stages of building one of these out as well. Your video really helped out a lot!
We are glad we coukd help you out! Thanks for stopping by.
I offered 2- 20 x 25 carports for free and no one took them. So now I'm looking to turn one into a greenhouse. They are still up and connected though. So I could make one really long one. I had no idea how expensive they are to buy. These had came with our house. Great looking green house!
Thanks for watching. Yes Carports have gotten expensive in the past year. They had a 100% price increase. Those two together will make a great sized greenhouse for you. You will even have room for a nice wood stove inside for heat too.
White House on a Hill, tagged this and I'm going to share this with my sister! :) thanks for taking the time to film this!
Thanks for the comment. I hope your sister enjoys it. I hope it helps. White House on the Hill are great folks
Great idea...I wonder about building a cabin out of one of those carports......great idea for a sturdy greenhouse
Thanks. I have seen people use these for living quarters.
Farm Alarm.....using them out there in Missouri......just closing in the ends an insulating?.....or actually building it out inside like a house? ...with kitchen, living, etc?
Farm Alarm I am heading out to West Plains, Ava,etc to look at land....leaving here next Sunday....would love to look at one...yup
I have only seen videos. but yes fully insulated. I sell carports at my shop in town, and over the years i have had a few people say they were going to live in them. but mostly people buy the Derksen style wood buildings for tiny houses. I just sold a Wood Derksen a couple of weeks ago, and he said his daughter was gonna live in it.
Farm Alarm YUP....makes sense.....thank you for the response
💚
Thanks 💜👍
This is fantastic!
I do have a Couple questions:
1. The fan/fans that you use to keep the plastic tight: Is it expensive to run it? Like have you noticed a difference in power cost or anything? Do you happen to have the unit info?
2. What was your total build cost?
3. How is the plastic holding up?
Thanks again!
I would kill for that frame at 300 dollars. They want over a thousand now
Kill for it?? That's extreme 😆 🤣 😂
Hi guys, I have some questions how did you attach the two layers of plastic to the frame of the carport, and also where you had cut out plastic for the fan? I really love this...great job. And highly intelligent. Has this greenhouse held up throughout the winter so far?
Hey Cathi, Great questions, and I also got your email with all the other questions too. Thanks for asking! Here is a video with all of your questions answered, Hope this helps! ua-cam.com/video/TQwudxuG_FY/v-deo.html
Thank you so very much...I so appreciate it. I will go and watch it carefully. Hugs you guys.
Where can I buy metal like that?
The *Square Tubing?* or the *Sheet Metal?*
Thank you
You asked where could you get metal like that... I was asking if you were talking about the square tubing? Or the sheet metal?
