I never really thought much about the Longview/Kelso area up until I started delivering Amazon there every day. After that I grew to love it. I like the fact that everything looks all old and rundown, I like the big trees everywhere, and the original concrete offset diamond roads from the 1920’s.
Was born in Longview first moved here in my early twenties then moved back been living here for almost 4 years never left you really can't beat it only a 45 to 50 minute drive to Portland Oregon a big city and a hour from the beach.
I have lived here all my life (69 yrs). There are things to love and hate here just like any other small town. However, living here you are only 1 hr away from beautiful mountains, the Pacific Ocean and great fishing. It is an adventures paradise.
I grew up in Longview when you could play outside until the street lights came on. now its so run down in certain parts but still has a lot of beauty …it’s a cute little town in the daylight but the saying is true “the freaks come out at night” back in the 80s it was a fun time to grow up there. When you’d smell the mill you knew you were close to home…it’s actually a pretty simple lay out of the town….👍🏼
How did that work out? Curious cuz I’m shopping in the area. Got priced out of Saint Helen’s and Scappoose on the Oregon side thank you if you reply I appreciate it!
California is fun to visit, hopefully I will get down there this winter. I just saw gas prices are sky high and I thought it was bad here, $6.50 a gallon in San Diego!
Longview, Washington doesn't compare with Arlington, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Centralia, Vancouver or Portland, Oregon. If you want LGBTQ pride, Black lives matter, Juneteenth festivals, World Naked bike ride, cop watchers and/or defunded the police, then head to one of the cities, suburbs or a liberal town for an hour and it will run into you there. However, this place appreciate meat and mashed potatoes, country music (not rockabilly), deer hunting, fishing, hiking, rodeo, mountain biking, hard work and more fun than should be legal. This place also recognize God and the police.

Nice, sounds like a good area. You are so close to Astoria and the northern Oregon beaches, would be awesome!
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing Absolutely 👍 Seaside

It is sad to see what some cities have become, without safety a person has nothing.
