There was something about him and his show... that just filled me with hope time and time again, when I most needed it. I really miss him.

They replaced Craig with James Corden, who is not nearly as funny or brilliant. Corden has an insincerity about him, similar to Fallon's forced laughter. Craig is a natural. I don't know why CBS invested so much more $$ into Corden's show. Craig didn't have the huge live audience, the live band, etc etc. Yet he still managed to be more interesting (and of course sexier).
He must be hell to interview haha, he just takes over. I expected Geoff Peterson to pop up with his german accent as well that's how hard Ferguson was leading the Interview haha. Beste Late night host of our era right there, he was far far superior to everyone else on right now
I think he's a savvy performer. Watch his Seth Meyers interview and you'll see a completely different Craig. Much lower key. I think he came in amped because he knows Colbert is a high--energy, very interupt-y sort of interview with a big studio audience. Love him.

What I really love in this interview is that the two of them have such balance. Craig is more of a unscriptedly, really rioty kind of funny while Colbert is more of the reserved but smart funny. I like it.
7:24 was two late show hosts brilliance. Both of them were having a good time and immediately realized there was going be a lull afterwards but they looked at each other and knew exactly where to pick back up. Fucking amazing.

And every interview was unscripted! I tried watching his replacement after he retired...but every time i'd just end up watching old ferguson late late show youtube clips instead. The Late Late Show will always be my favourite late night show. Whereas other late shows are hit and miss night to night, I could always rely on Craig and Geoff to make me laugh out loud at some point in every show. You don't know what you got til its gone :(

Craig is one of the funniest people ever, and an impressive improviser. Very few comedians can actually make jokes on the fly, he can. Russell Brand too. These guys are the naturally funny dudes.. They take risks and don't fucking care, I love that.

You have just witnessed the best late night host of the past decade. Ferguson's show was freaking amazing. He played and made fun of the late night format like nobody else could.
It's interesting to watch clips of Craig on other talk shows, because lately I've been on a big The Late Late Show binge and it shows how special, how out there him and his show really were. Also it's cool to see the differences in the direction, the camera work and so forth. A huge shame that he quit, but what're you gonna do? But I will also say that Colbert is one of the good guys - he is awesome and I hope all the best to him, but I also hope that he will (get to) shape the Late Show in his own image even more in the future.

I'd thought it'd been cancelled when I learned about this new show, but apparently, Craig is under contract to host through 2017. It's definitely watchable if you don't hate game shows, but it's practically the complete opposite format than a late night talk show so it's definitely not satisfactory for long-time Craig and TLLS fans.

Craig was so good at rejecting the traditional format. Getting authenticity from actors and uncontrollable laughter was not uncommon. Increasingly late night talk shows are stuffed with games, gimmicks, competitions and forced obnoxious laughs from hosts to convince the audience somethings are funnier than the actually were.

Craig is one of the funniest people ever, and an impressive improviser. Very few comedians can actually make jokes on the fly, he can. Russell Brand too. These guys are the naturally funny dudes.. They take risks and don't fucking care, I love that.

Stephen treats him with so much respect, and I can see Craig replies very well to that. They might not be real buddies but they respect each other. I love it!

You have just witnessed the best late night host of the past decade. Ferguson's show was freaking amazing. He played and made fun of the late night format like nobody else could.
It's interesting to watch clips of Craig on other talk shows, because lately I've been on a big The Late Late Show binge and it shows how special, how out there him and his show really were. Also it's cool to see the differences in the direction, the camera work and so forth. A huge shame that he quit, but what're you gonna do?
But I will also say that Colbert is one of the good guys - he is awesome and I hope all the best to him, but I also hope that he will (get to) shape the Late Show in his own image even more in the future.
I have to echo what everyone is saying here, Craig is bloody amazing!!! you can't buy personality of that calibre.

+Bobgrey You know he's been hosting a game show since not long after leaving TLLS, right? "The Celebrity Name Game." Craig actually just won a Daytime Emmy for it. I'd thought it'd been cancelled when I learned about this new show, but apparently, Craig is under contract to host through 2017. It's definitely watchable if you don't hate game shows, but it's practically the complete opposite format than a late night talk show so it's definitely not satisfactory for long-time Craig and TLLS fans.

uh, you might not like him personally, and honestly i rarely watch talkshows outside of youtube videos (or watch live tv in general, no reason to other than sports) but to say Colbert is failing miserably, or failing at all, is sheer stupidity. Thats not a subjective matter. You liking him is subjective, completely your opinion and you can rightly think he is terrible
But his numbers are OUTSTANDING, he has the #1 late night show by a good bit. Im sure CBS could not be happier with Colbert @@Zayden.
Stephen Colbert is a very clever man but Craig Ferguson turned out to be a complete bad ass and super cool, totally overshadowed Colbert !! Actually it was fun to see the head to head battle between this too, and I think we know who won ;)
Craig was so good at rejecting the traditional format. Getting authenticity from actors and uncontrollable laughter was not uncommon. Increasingly late night talk shows are stuffed with games, gimmicks, competitions and forced obnoxious laughs from hosts to convince the audience somethings are funnier than the actually were.
