Thank you for the quick fix on my vinyl Boat bench... that's what I needed it. It safe me couple hundredths of dollars! 🐟🎣
*_When I think of shit, through the course of time, that has been over-complicated, vinyl repair is the NUMBER 1 thing that always pops into my head!!!_*
I used it on my car seat vinyl upholstery, on the side of the seat and worked just like you describe in the video. It is not looking perfect, but I don't have a cut anymore. Before seeing this video I had no idea about the Performix VLP. By the way, this is the name you should search for, not Plasti Dip VLP. Many thanks for this video!
Sold me on it. Just ordered a tube and going to use it to repair my snowmobile seat. Way better than duct tape! Thanks.
Did it work? How long did it hold up?
@@onelove2632 I lasted until I sold them this last fall.
Better then Duck Tape?????? What could be better then Duck Tape, lol
So it would have been cool for you to show the results of that last fix...
After watching this video last week, I ordered and just received my tube of VLP for a rip in my tonneau cover (tree branch) fell on it. Cleaned it yesterday doing the repair today. I will let you know my results soon. Thanks for a great video covering this job. Cheers from Motown.
What was the result?
@@faganm24 ya what happened? I'm gonna do the same...good tips👍 with the tape
impressive strength
This video was great. Good work man.
GREAT TO HEAR, I'm always happy when the videos can help someone.
Great video........great product and excellent "how to". I saved my new leather sectional.....my niece stabbed one piece of the sectional with a pen/pencil. I had only had the furniture for two weeks...............This product really works.
DM Stevens hi where do I get the plasti dip vlp glue? What stores?
www.awarehousefull.com/plasti-dip-vinyl-leather-repair-1-oz-tube/
Awesome music my man !
😂😂😂😂 he said a dookie office chair! Nice video tho, glad I found it before buying one of those kits, that stuff has impressive strength
This is perfect for the hubby's man cave chair! It works under 'load' lol
Here I am with my tube of VLP like, "no way I just use this alone, it will never hold up to weather and stretching". Unreal.
So difficult to listen to because of horrible background music...
Yep
I thumbs upped at 20 seconds in, paused, and thumbs downed at 30 seconds for this very reason. Watched the whole video though - good information, BAD soundtrack!
Ruined by excessivly loud NOISE !
You are too funny! I enjoyed this video. Thank you!
good video
Hey Troops, Just found this video while looking for a solution to fix my Tonneau Cover that was cut open last night.
Are you aware of any limitations on length of cut or anything like that?
SO if my VynilLandau roof has many cracks from either sun or hail, like 100 of them all in little arcs about size of hailstone, if im plastidipping my entire car anyways, i can just go ahead and plastidip over the vynil Landau roof covering since it has some minor damage anyways and could use some sealing up against rain?
Can it work on clean cut on my vinyl hot tub cover??-- it will be exposed to lots of sun.
Thank you for the beautiful video ☺️☺️, but quick question please, Do you think it will work to fix a tear in century bob please?! Thank you again 😊😊
Hi Mohamad! If it is vinyl not cloth, will work fine sir. The product is amazing. Good luck. Cheers from Motown.
Of course this guy is going to show you what it can do easily. Most people don't have a razor cutting a clean line, they have a tear like I have. I tried this product on my fairly straight vinyl tear and it absorbed into the material below the tear and not mending the 3 inch x 1/16 inch opening the tear had. I done a second application and it did seal or mend the tear, but quite visible. A video illustrating how to put a color matching patch underneath the tear might be more practical than a razor cut, but at least my tear will stop getting bigger sliding into my vinyl eating booth from a 70's pizza parlor.
I'm apologize you did not have a good experience with Plasti Dip VLP. This is for very basic applications and should only be used a pinch, or on pieces when looks do not matter. You are correct Plasti Dip VLP is visible after it dries as seen in the video, and it can sag into openings since it is a liquid. Even though this is a very simple and strong product it is not correct in all situations. We are not the spokesmen for Plasti Dip, but we do have a working knowledge of the products. There have been many times we have recommend a more complex kits for repairs like the one you described. We offer a very wide range of products, and if you have a question about any of them please contact us before purchasing. We will work with you and together determine if it is the correct choice for your application. If what we carry is not the right fit for your situation then we will not hesitate to point you in another direction. After all we want you to be 100% satisfied with items we offer.
Thanks for caring, I still gave it a thumbs up, but a video on a tear rather than a cut would be more practical, along with putting a color matching patch below the tear so it's not as visible.
I will definitely look into something like this. It takes time to research for quality, and to put videos together. But, it is something worth looking into. If you ever need help in the future please reach out to us.
From what I can tell he addressed all those things & color matching. souhyeahnoDUUHHHHHHdingbat
Do you have any references/recommendations for someone who makes new vinyl covers and or envelopes?
I am considering buying a used pontoon boat that has areas where the vinyl is cracked. Can I use this product to fill in the cracks before repainting? Can I gesture this product as well. Not experienced in this fiend but very handy and patient but I don't want to get in over my head. The boat is a good deal if I don't have to recover it.
Can the vinyl be purchased also??
will it work on a seam for a boat cushion
Peel back the cut and glue the insides to avoid that showing
Shared on my Facebook.
Thank you, we appreciate it.
What about a riding mowers seat?.............Is it good for tears on them?
I'll be trying this stuff. Just need to find it in Canada at a reasonable price.
Hey Peter, sorry for the delay. We can ship you a 1oz tube to Canada. Just give us a call! 888.223.3050
Thankssss
Music distracts. Hard to watch.
Great video. Definitely skip the music next video. Thank you
Instead of this expensive kit that I returned because I realized what it was you can use acrylic paint Walmart has it in arts and crafts. Some have a filler you can water down acrylic jel medium or use Elmer's Glue.
That is exactly what's in these kits.
You can even use satin finish acrylic spray paint.
After you've painted it spray it with flat clear coat to stop it from coming off.
The expensive kits don't bother telling you that.
Too noisy! Can't continue watching...
Turn down the volume a bit, worked for me😊
What kind of glue can we use on leather
I thought it said Vinyl and Leather.
Does PlastiDip have a clear coating to fix totally sun burnt vinyl? Suppose you have a boat and both seat bottom are totally checkered up from the sun but you just want to coat the vinyl b/c the backing is still good. Do you guys have anything that will work for that? If not, do you know what will work for that?
I have a chair where the vynal bubbled and baby picked it off. Is there a product for this type of damage. It is not ripped just needs a new coating to blend with the original
were do i buy it how much is it
Got some cuts in my sofa I can fix with this. Paint is peeled too in that area. Can I dye over this once it's dry?
No, once dry this will not accept most dyes.
+AWF PRO
Thnx
will this work on car seats that are cracked?
Yes, if they are vinyl or leather this will work.
Can it be used on the bottom driver seat? I would need to repair the open seam...is it flexible enough to with stand the getting in out of car many times.
Did you try it for this? How did it hold up?
@@onelove2632 I would like to know as well
Hello, I have a vinyl Sofa and it has started loosing the strength. From manny places it has already cracked and peeling off. How to fix it
Not able to put the picture, I would have shared it with you. I really need help
This kit is only good for simple rips and cuts and does not sound like it is the right kit for you.
Yo make the repair less likely to fail, you should use Masters cement on a peoce of nylon and on the back of the vinyl and put them together. Then on the front use the Plasti Dip
Why wouldn't you try to scrape down the glue before pulling off the tape to get thin finish?
What product would you recommend for color matching?
Hey Scott, thanks for the question. Sorry, I'm not sure about color matching products. VLP is clear.
How about a shot of the finished work? I'm very skeptical if u can't do that
This video is only demonstration of application and strength. It is not right for all situations or complex rips or tears. Even though we do not have a photo of what this looks like, you can see what the finished look comes out like at 1:35 during the video. If you have a nice piece of furniture we recommend something more complex. This is something you would want to use in a pinch, or on a piece of furniture that is still useful but is ok to have a few visible marks. Plasti Dip VLP is very strong, and easy to use, but not right for all situations.
Hiiiiii where do I get glue pls? The vlp plasti dip? What stores sell it?
You can find it on our web site. www.awarehousefull.com/plasti-dip-vinyl-leather-repair-1-oz-tube/
Does it work on a soft tonneu cover?
Yes it does. Don' forget to tape the seam like in the video for best results.
do you overlap the pieces or approximate the edges
Hey Lauren, You want to try to line up the edges best as possible. Overlapping is not recommended.
Hi is it possible to repair my vinyl the cat has scratched
The source of the cut is not as important as the outcome you are looking for. If you want a color match and blend then you may need a more complex kit. If you are looking for something simple to bond the cut so further damage will not happen then this will work.
Will this work on a convertible car top? Fabric not vinyl.
No, this is a vinyl & leather repair. Do not use on fabric.
AWF PRO Is there anything for fabric? Thank you.
We don't have anything. I would suggest contacting a local fabric shop and see what they have to offer or suggest.
Ive owned a few convertibles, not sure if this will help or not but i use to know a upholstery guy and every time someone would cut my top or it would rip he would sow it together real neatly and apply some coloring to hide the sowing and he would put a Small patch inside the car so it wouldn't be visible from the outside, wasn't a world class repair but it worked and it didn't look ghetto like a patch outside, convertible tops are under a lot of strain so when they are repaired functionality is much more important that aesthetics.
I'd prefer to see the video closer.
Music in the intro only!
Where can I find a roll of vinyl like that
The link sown in the description will take you directly to this product.
Joannes fabric for one place.
that there puzzleman
Hi where do I get that product pls?
www.awarehousefull.com/plasti-dip-vinyl-leather-repair-1-oz-tube/
What if the stitched part of vinyl leather sofa is ripped
If the stitching is ripped you may want to consider having a professional repair it. But, as long as the VLP reaches both sides of the rip, then it should hold. Every case is going to be an individual judgement call.
Can you sand down this productm
The world is your oyster!!!
Were can you buy this
You can pick this up here: www.awarehousefull.com/plasti-dip-vinyl-leather-repair-1-oz-tube/
Hi. Where can I buy that?
Hello! you can buy it here: www.awarehousefull.com/plasti-dip-vlp-vinyl-leather-repair-1-oz-tube/
I think you need to use painters tape here....he didn't say that
Tony Stark has a budget then.
this isvfine if you have even cuts holes this is not the way to go.
Exactly brother why do you have to complicate vinyl repair.
The background music is far too loud and distracting.
The music is so horrible 😡🤯
I couldn’t watch it my ears couldn’t take the music why do creator feel the need to add loud obnoxious sound?
How about someone come out with a product that can be sprayed all over a brand new office chair to prevent this crap material from peeling in the first place...
90% of Office chairs are made of crap now days.
Use a leather conditioner monthly to keep your leather or vinyl items supple enough to avoid cracking.
should have watched this before allowing the coworker to put a duct tape patch on the seat. When its hot you get adhesive goo all over your pants =/
Is this? Puzzle man?
You have to use the background music because it agitates the molecular texture of plastic atoms. Please remember this music causes cancer in tests preformed in California.
zanekers is 100% correct.....why does EVERYONE who makes video's think it's necessary to play that SHIT music in the background.................aside from that, thanks for the tip on the glue.
Damn that junky noisy background trash!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Loose the music it’s annoying!
Loose the music.
no need for that stupid music
Yep, the music made it hard for me to stay with it. Ditch it!
Bullshit music...I was trying to learn but the music took away from the video
NEVER EVER PUT BLUE PAINTER"S TAPE (or any tape) ON LEATHER...NEVER! When you remove it, it will take off enough of the top layer of color on the leather and leave a non-repairable bare spot where the tape was. Not sure what it does to vinyl but from the looks of this video, it looks OK. Always test an inconspicuous non-visible area on your item first.
Are your customers teenage boy rock music lovers?
Do you think your music gives a professional image of your company?
Do not insult your potential customers with this godawful crap forced on our ears!
Thumbs down. Never buying anything from a company that sets out to deliberately make me deaf!
hahaha Thank you for your input. As you can see from other comments you're not the only one who feels this way. We apologize for our poor choice in music . We will try to choose something less offensive next time. Cheers!
Can't stand that God awful head banging music.
WOW !! That trremendous background music made this video totally UNWATCHABLE. Thumbs down.
Yea... we get that alot on this one... Live and Learn! :) If you have any questions about the product please give us a call! Thank you!!!
Hi there! Could a person use on a pair of boots? Thanks!
