    One of the most important things to owning a RV is to keep it from leaking ! A leak will destroy a camper. My opinion is, as soon as possible get a carport to park it under. Well worth the money and will help keep it nice.

    At around 11:30 into the video, you mentioned it wasn't suppose to take this long. If I was the owner of the coach, I will say, better to take time, do it right the first time instead of doing an quick sloppy job that won't last.
    Great job!

    why did you show a camping world bag? definatly a ooooops. not a fan of that place but there is one 5 minutes away so i buy supplies there all the time also. point of this post is i bought a 97 gulf stream sun sport 32 ft with the 460 ford f 35 chassis that had minimal damage but im restoring it to better than new condition. you are a plethura of information. i love your videos and i watch them all the time just to pick up tips and tricks so i can learn more . most importantly that no 2 are built the same and dont be afraid to modify something that is obviously not done effectively. anyhow, point being, your videos have probably saved me 10 grand so far easy and you give me the confidence and know how to do things myself. best tip thus far is the expanding foam while stiffing the roof. that saved me a ton of work and instead of having to replace my roof now ive got it fixed so i can hold off for a year or so. im just having a hard time finding that red adhesive glue that sticks to the foam. cant find it anywhere. camping places wont sell it but they sure will sell a new roof where they use it to glue the new luan down. lol. and in your honest opinion, is that a decent unit? anything i need to check on that may be concerning after 25 years?

    You may not be a "Fan" of doing these types of repairs but you're one of the best at them. So I hate to tell you but in the future if I have issues with my RV, guess who I'm going to come see? Great job as always and that owner should be very happy with that repair. James they tell me to buy a 2005 to 2008. Im looking at one but I tell you when I watch all your videos it makes me realize how much work I may be getting into. Since I have good hands being a contractor in my past working life I know I feel comfortable repairing almost anything and I have the tools. Im starting to think my spare time RVing will be spent working on any used rig I buy which is not really a bad thing for me at least. Lastly considering shop fees for RV repair (Im guessing $100 to $150 an hour) I can see how expensive an older coach could really be. Its kind of scary to jump in. Thank you for all your videos. Excellent work.

    Cool! Thank you for showing that. Nice work. Did the owners ever call you back? In other words, is the leak fixed?

    Great Job but if I was the customer I would have want the damaged wood replaced or at least the corners.
    Water stop damaging when it stop running. Wet wood can cause other problems such as mold from what I
    have figured out studding motorhome repairs. Could it be one of those pay me now a little more or pay me later
    a lot of money. You could have spend another day and replaced that wet wood on top of the slider. Chit I do not
    know everything still learning James but trying to understand. I could be way off as well.

    That looks very stable! On 5th wheels whose slideouts do you like best and worst.

    • @AZExpert
      @AZExpert  3 роки тому

      that's very difficult as most 5th wheels use 3-4 slide types on one trailer. I have found the hydraulic ram with rack timing to be the most robust and reliable.

    This why I would never have a RV With a slide, they are getting to big and too heavy, and will always have problems. They need more structural load bearing metal in them.

      @@AZExpert I really don't think they have that much of a problem when we only had like a sofa in the slide couple hundred pounds it works great for that much weight but when you start installing complete kitchens in a flight out that's a couple thousand times hanging out there with no support don't make any sense to me

    Great video. Love what you are doing! Need advice. Gear motor above one of my slides leaked grease for some reason. EPDM roof on slide did not like it and it bubbled up. No leaks but wondering how to patch it or should I replace entire slide roof. Do you have any videos or guidance? Thanks!

    How often do these wiper seals on the slide have to be replaced? Would it be good advice to change them before there is a leak? Another educational video for all us newbies.Thanks.

    • @AZExpert
      @AZExpert  3 роки тому

      They usually age out after 15 years, so it is not very common. I wouldnt change them unless they were damaged

    Another fantastic video! Thank you for your expertise. I have a 2005 Winnebago adventurer that I recently noticed daylight shining through under the Galley slide. I have about a 10” section that has pulled away. I tucked it back in place the best I could for a quick fix. Is there any special instruction I need to know before ordering a new seal? Thank you again!

      Winnebago uses proprietary seals but overall, there is usually some light coming in underneath slides.

    Great job
    Looks much better than the factory job, never understood how they thought that design would work.
    I do have a question though.
    How In the world is the wood trim held in at the top, it wasn't in your disassembly or reassembly video.
    Thanks

    • @AZExpert
      @AZExpert  3 роки тому

      Good question! There are screws that hold the main wood timbers on, and then the trim gets pin nailed over the top of the screws.

      @@AZExpert Ok
      I have seen the pin nails, was wondering where the screws were.
      Thank you, and again good job on the repair, if the factory did it like you they never would have had a leak.
