- Il reste des habitudes, des automatismes. On écoute un album, le Cd. Une ou deux fois si on accroche pas. Voire même il faut l'avouer ne dépassant pas deux ou trois morceaux pour certains. D'autres en boucle, pendant quelques jours. Sous le charme. Emporté. Enivré. Aujourd'hui beaucoup irait sur le net. Chercher sur les facebook, myspace ou sites des artistes. Mais pour d'autres, il y a le plaisir des premiers jours. De vivre dans sa bulle. Juste la musique. Besoin de rien d'autres. On verra plus tard. En écoutant Ben Howard. A cause de sa voix, mais aussi de ce qui se dégage de son album on ne s'attendait pas à rencontrer le jeune homme que l'on retrouve à l'étage du restaurant chez Justine, rue Oberkampf. On imaginait plutôt un baroudeur, un peu marqué par les ans et les voyages. Pas ce beau jeune homme, fan de glisse, de mer que l'on verrait bien à peine sortie de l'école qui dégage un fascinant mélange de timidité (regardé le sourire un peu gauche à la fin des morceaux qu'il nous offre) et d'une certaine assurance. Seul sur un grand canapé, dans un décor dépouillé, il ne reste, comme on aime sur le Cargo, que la musique et la voix, les mélodies et l'émotion. Et chez Ben Howard il n'y a pas besoin de plus. Sa voix fait penser à cette maxime qu'aime citer Josh T. Pearson : "it's not about the age, but the miles". En gros ce n'est pas l'âge qui compte, mais ce que l'on a vécu. Et la voix de Ben Howard nous donne l'impression qu'il a déjà vécu plusieurs vies. Sa façon de jouer aussi d'attaquer les cordes et les accords de 1001 façons, même les plus improbables. Jamais pour en mettre plein la vue, on en est bien loin, juste pour nous emmener encore un peu plus loin..

I discovered the great Ben Howard in 2020!!!
His passion is so strong that you can actually witness him be taken to another place when he performs, his spirit is so intertwined with his song he leaves and you can watch until after the performance and see him slowly return. That's so very powerful.

He is the most talented artist there is for the moment, reliefe to see that there finally is a young talented artist who still makes real music and not someone who has to spend days in a studio to sound good on tape. Just give this guy his guitar and he is good to go at any given day and ready to touch you with his music

This is so incredibly intimate. It gets me everytime. Phew. :) His facial expressions, it's like you can read the story from his face. He really seems to be one with the song. His whole body and every nerve..everything. :) And the seconds he needs to get back to the "here and now". It must have been (or still be) a very personal and hurting memory. I feel a bit like a stalker being part of a very personal and senstive moment in another persons life.

He seems such a kind person and also introvert. I think he needs time to charge and then he'll be back bringing his chords to us. :) Maybe there will be an opportunity for you.
