I did work for his mother and father back in North Coventry Pa. Great people, very classy salt of the earth.
I listened to their greatest hits on cassette on a Greyhound bus from Tallahassee to New A'wleens, 1988 or 89, I listened to that for 2 days straight! I love "Sara Smile" and "She's Gone," the best.
It struck me that his voice does sound like someone in his 40's. Unbelievable that this is a 70 year old. What a cool guy

Just wanted to say this was a great interview... truly appreciated the depth of questioning on the single subject of his mother... on mother's day.
For those commenting here that the interviewer asked the same question repeatedly... she did not. She knew his mother was his singing coach and mentor and so she cleverly used questions surrounding her to elicit the most honest and heartfelt answers about his musical and personal background thru today.
I'm a longtime hall and Oates fan and most interviewers ask the same questions answered hundreds of times previously. This interviewer did her homework and focused on the right subject. I learned a lot about Daryl hall... honestly one of the best interviews.
What a good son you are Daryl. Frank Sinatra once said, there's no shame in being a mama's boy. He was very close to his mom. I think any man being close to his mother is wonderful. When I listen to your interviews, I admire what a wonderful man you are. You were raised very respectful. All the very best to you Daryl and your Mom.

I Really Enjoyed Getting to Personally Know More About Daryl . Even Though He's My Dream Man it Showed Me , Not Only Do I love His Music , His Fantastic Good Looks , That He Also is Down to Earth , Has a Great Humor , Personality and Respect for His Mother . Sounds Like She Was and Still is a Wonderful Mom to Him , Which is the Most Important Part .

Daryl needs to open a Daryl's House 🏠 out here in Vegas with a water theme park similar to the Opeyland theme park in Nashville. A great place for all families ❤ to see shows and ride a water flume and stay cool with outdoor misters and plenty of potted trees 🌳. It could be open all year round in this climate and everyone would love it 💘

I adore Daryl and I knew he had great relationship with his Mom, but this interview was so odd and awkward!
The interviewer was really strange and so much repeated odd questions. It was like such awkward silence and shed come out with another odd questions putting him on the spot. I give him credit for keeping his cool.

Daryl Hall's smooooth as silk. A true Libran, velvet-tongued diplomat, with the fire and spontaneity of an Aries Moon! Oh yeah, baby! And he likes Michael Connelly books! I love that Daryl Hall understands the value of encouragement (strength-based learning), and he has a lot of depth re: life and its nuances; along with eclecticism.

I had no idea what a really decent guy you are...and you look amazing, sound incredible, and you have really had rough times as well. I feel you on the relationship pain ...I have declared a moratorium and am good with just my dog and me. I can't imagine going through any more grief at this stage in my life. My mom, Bc especially my dad were super supportive of my music since I was 12. My dad paid for lessons at the Air Force Academy.... studied under 2 percussionists, every week until I was 18 ish. What an incredible gift they gave me. Though I did think I might have to peel my mom off the ceiling after my afternoon hand in my bedroom with a full drum set my dad bought, and my stereo blaring. God how I miss them both!

The interviewer has no charisma as opposed to Daryl Hall who is full of character and wit and belies his 70yrs is seemingly ageless...luckily or the interview would have fallen flat

"... young and stupid..." I saw KISS in the late 1970's, because they did a show 30 miles away from home. I'm not so crazy about that hard of rock, but their light show was great. Finally at age "nearly 60," I will see Hall & Oates in Fort Worth in 2021. I am so excited.
I totally agree that Daryl is a good looking gentleman. He is humble and has a great sense of humor. I love his Soul and music. I really enjoy listening and watching him perform. No way you could tell his age. He’s funny too. 😂😊❤
Great question from the guy @ 17:09 about playing more obscure songs from the catalog. I'm a long time fan of Daryl Hall + John Oates (over 35 years now) and although I might not necessarily want to hear something from the "Really Smokin'" album (which wasn't really an album, but rather a collection of pre-Atlantic tracks), I'd love to hear songs like Head Above Water, You're Much Too Soon, United State, Grounds For Separation, Who Said The World Was Fair, Bigger Than Both Of Us, The Last Time, Tell Me What You Want, Hard To Be In Love With You, and Everytime I Look At You live. I'd especially love to see Daryl play the criminally underrated Sacred Songs album live in its entirety someday.
P.S. Yeah, this interview lady is a total wack-job, but ya gotta love Daryl, the consummate professional!

I love this man and his music! I named my now almost 22 year old daughter Sara after Sara Smile. I was only 4 years old when that song came out and I’ve adored it since I was a young child. I can’t think of a Hall & Oates or Daryl Hall song that I don’t love, I just love some more than others. What an awesome interview and man!

I don't know what you're all talking about, a lot of questioning by interviewer made him, think and thats her job, hes been a professional for a long time, he knows when you've achieved what he has, you have to available to the people who help you to become popular and wealthy, he absolutely enjoys his progression in his life, and good on him, the more I follow him on UA-cam, the more he impresses me, he came out of and through a great eara of time with music, of self made musicans , I m 64 now and thoroughly enjoy daryls house, I just wish he could do some of it now in 2023, it would be loved by all, all over again , especially with a bit more of john oates
