Muddy river catfishing is my number one favorite youtube channel to watch for catfishing videos love it when are you gonna post more videos? n i also never thought new mecixo had such big cats out there n flatheads ive been.there
Hey when your throwing the net as it sinks make sure you feel for the net when it touches the bottom, if you let your net rest on the bottom for too long your bait can end up getting out of the bottom unless your quick on the draw.
Brother I love your videos. Isa reminds me so much of my daughter when she was that age. We used to fish for everything! Now she is so busy. Keep up the good work buddy. Wish I could fish with you. I live in Wisconsin and my opportunities at catfish are few. Caught 2 nice flatties last fall, my 2 best ever! 26 and 28 lbs!! Thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us.
They're mutts. The best I can figure is blue heeler mixed with boxer. The one with no tail is T-Bone and the one with the tail is T.J. I found T-Bone in my back yard one day when he was just a pup. I Think someone dumped him there because he was too small to have walked on his own. But they did us both a favor because he's been by far the best dog I've ever had.
I used to use waterdogs all the time. I would go bass fishing with them with a weedless hook and a bullet weight. Man the bass would go crazy for them. Now I can't find them at the bait shops anymore.
I know logic dictates a bigger net = more fish but that is not always the case. Try going down to a 4-5 foot net it will open better for you and you will be able to trap more fish. Also when holding the net do everything the same except pull about a third of the net into your left hand. Flip your left hand over so the weights are next to your thumb and the net is in your palm. When you throw the net toss it like your tossing a trash can lid or really big frisbie. As you let go with your right hand open your left hand lighting pinching the net with your left thumb. Hope this helps.
Thank you Terry. She loves fishing as much as I do. She's also my camera girl for most of these videos! Thanks for watching. I also did a special dedication to her on the video called "Flathead Fishing With The Yo Yo"
This is really sad seeing how low the water is at Elephant Butte. I remember going to the narrow's as my dad called it as a kid. I haven't gone to the lake in about 5 years it looks a lot worse then the last time i was there.
With your right hand, hold the net a little closer to the bottom. With your left hand, hold 2-3 sections of the lead and put them in your right hand under your thumb like you did in the beginning. Let the net sink to the bottom. Keep slight tension on the line as it goes down but not so much you close the net as it falls. If you are keeping tension on the rope as the net falls and you feel twitching in the rope, that is the bait in the net as it falls. As soon as the rope goes slack that means it is on the bottom. One quick and hard pull will close the net. The you pull it up.
Try 50ft. I think we are looking at another 5 to 10 years before the water comes back. At least that's what my sources say. At least the fish are closer together lol
Sometimes I would bite one end to ensure a wide spread head start seemed to help weights to distribute evenly and usually got wide spread felt good when It went wide!
Im no pro at throwing the cast net either but if you go out on your boat in the mornings early you can catch shad boiling up everywhere and catch plenty of bait to.last the weekend in just one cast. Also to get a more flat and wide throw you can leave the rope on the ground, take a weight in your left hand and about four foot down take another weight in your left hand then grab a weight another few feet apart in your right hand and throw with a sort of twist.
thats crazy how much the water has dropped. Thats like 15 feet, probably more....how long has it been that its been draining? Like 10 years? or is it a longer process than that? Absolutely insane
you need to pull up on that net the moment it hits bottom. you wont get snagged as much and if you do just keep giving it little jerks and it comes right off. the bait starts to escape when your net hits the bottom
Nice lil baby shad. I get more luck the farther out i can throw the net especially when it's hot out. I'd try putting the spot where your left thumb is in your teeth and grabbing farther around the net with your hand helps you spin the net out so it opens up more. And I don't let it sink and sit that long before i give it a big jerk.
Kris search UA-cam for rtick3 channel. He has three vids on throwing cast nets.. He uses one technique for small and large nets. Pay close attention to his hands and which side of his hand the leads are on. It all looks backwards to most throwers but it works much better. Horn comes out little finger side of hand. Leads on thumb side of hand.
i just ordered a cast net and was thinking of ideas on how i would bring bait fish where i want em. mabe like bread broken up and tossed on the surface. would that be a good idea?
if i get around to it i could make ya a video on throwing any size net, without putting it in your mouth or over your shoulder. real easy real simple, i taught my girl a while back and she can throw a 10' net no problem. and she's only bout 5'1" on a good day.
put your net in some water with a cup full fabric softner in it it will make super soft like it was when it was brand new an very easy to cast i use my net at least 4 times a week an its a must to keep it from staying in one not but good luck
Nice vid. Try throwing a smaller net allot easier to control and with better control comes better luck. I see you brought your camera girl along with you lol
ive always seen people grab the skirt in about 3 bunches so they get a wider spread. just a suggestion. sad about ur lake man. im from north texas and it was always bad at the river unless they opened the dam
Go throw your net at percha dam it's not very far from El elephant butte it's like 20 mins away from the butte and their u catch a ton of bait even if u throw the net wrong
When's the next water went to step into them pull it up because you're waiting for a long time so won't you wait for a long time the fish that gets in it have time to get out of the net
Sorry I meant once the net hits the water wait 2 seconds and then pull it up because you are waiting too long to pull it up so the fish that gets in the net have time to get out of the net
Watching your helper bring back fond memories. Enjoy your kids because they grow up so quickly.
Thanks for sharing.

+Anthony Castillo thanks!
When you pull the net in make sure you pull it in faster or the fish will escape.
thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try!
your doing fine throwing it. I would pull it in sooner. the fish find they're way out pretty fast. but all in all you have a great show!
I bought this net at walmart but they haven't been carrying them lately. It is now torn beyond repair and I guess I'll have to order one on ebay.
Thanks Chase!
You have a good UA-cam channel
derrick kellam thank you!

this is a 7 foot radius casting net. Itss better to start off with a smaller one. There's a 3 foot and a 5 foot.
really enjoy watching it videos with my son
Don`t let the castnet sit in the water long. Pull it in fast :)
Try 50ft. I think we are looking at another 5 to 10 years before the water comes back. At least that's what my sources say. At least the fish are closer together lol
how many feet this castnet and what model /brand ? thank you good work keep up!
Enjoy your videos.

Thank God we made it to 2019 and the river and the lake are bouncing back

Not sure if it is legal to chum there or not, but if it is, you could chum first to attract fish then throw the net.
You can use birds as a good shad locator. Wherever there's a lot of birds, there's probably shad
Love ur UA-cam channel

Hey man 1 tip when you throw it out bring it back quickly so the fish dont escape! Otherwise great throwing.
Try aiming higher and flick your wrist it helps the net open the net up and sink faster. This goes for all methods btw.
Hey first of all is that a volcano in the background because it looks like one lol.. And also your a good fisherman, I catfish all summer long:)
I like your dogs
To me ur throwing pretty gd,I do da same as u do but I use a smaller cast net,way 2 go
nice dogs love them what type are they
Also i havent seen all of your videos yet but do you ever use waterdogs to fish with?
Over here in lake mead the lake is going 50 times dryer then over there.
Hey when u throw your net into the water count to 3 then pull the net in trust me this little trick will help you catch more bait
i just ordered a cast net and was thinking of ideas on how i would bring bait fish where i want em. mabe like bread broken up and tossed on the surface. would that be a good idea?
should have moved to where the birds were feeding around 6:15. usually they hang around large schools of bait fish.. if you can cast that far
Well if i am able to get some before i go to the butte next id be glad to bring you some. Maybe we can go throw a line in the water.
So if you use a Rod and use it for the fish and use sherip
looks like Lake Mead in Nevada/AZ
Do you fish in Arizona ?
Aldo Mancini I'm actually in New Mexico

get a depth finder go to your lake and look for schools of shad possible entend the length of your rope you should catch more shad like this
to trough that net really good try and put one side over ur shoulder and grab the other side and through it try that
put your net in some water with a cup full fabric softner in it it will make super soft like it was when it was brand new an very easy to cast i use my net at least 4 times a week an its a must to keep it from staying in one not but good luck
dont wait to long
Nice vid. Try throwing a smaller net allot easier to control and with better control comes better luck. I see you brought your camera girl along with you lol

Im 12 and i use a 7ft!!! Thats cool!
Please tell me were you bought your casting net
jerk the rope when u pull it in to slowly close the net to not let them go out the bottom when u pull it in
How's the water level now?
What is that gray and White line on the mountain
I had no idea how to throw one treys but failed but after this video I got it down
You have to put your hand inside the casting net and grab half and the other half put it on your shoulder
Try and pull the net up earlier because when you wait the fish have a change to get out
you are allowed to blue gills under 5 inches for bait
did u catch anything that night?
ive always seen people grab the skirt in about 3 bunches so they get a wider spread. just a suggestion. sad about ur lake man. im from north texas and it was always bad at the river unless they opened the dam
You should fish for bluegills. You should try using hotdogs for bluegills.
Works better if its a 4 foot net. And instead of slowly working it bring it in faster
Go throw your net at percha dam it's not very far from El elephant butte it's like 20 mins away from the butte and their u catch a ton of bait even if u throw the net wrong
What size net do you use?
Oh ok thanks for the info
Nice vid
when i through a cast net i put the black part near the wiegth in my mouth
where do you live?
You should put some water in your bucket so the bait doesn't starve for oxygen and they will fresher when using them as bait.
Ok well ill give you a holler on here when i head down. My name is Chase Gutierrez by the way.
Your very cool
not bad I throw mine off a bridge for shad theres less snags
What is that noise
When's the next water went to step into them pull it up because you're waiting for a long time so won't you wait for a long time the fish that gets in it have time to get out of the net
Sorry I meant once the net hits the water wait 2 seconds and then pull it up because you are waiting too long to pull it up so the fish that gets in the net have time

Jose Zubiate We live in the middle of the desert so we have to bring our own.
Bait the water with cat food or rabbit food then come back in 5-10 minutes and the fish should be there
