It is not enough just to switch orientation for northern hemisphere. It depends on a climate zone and average temperatures, which often are very different from Australian ones.
For example, in Northern Europe, (and I guess Canada and North of US) you want as many as possible "long hours habitable" rooms (like living room, dining, and bedrooms) to face south (hot) as heating during long cold periods is a bigger problem than cooling during summers. The difference in orientation between bedrooms and living rooms would be south-east vs. south-west; as you want heat and light in your bedroom in the morning to help you wake up and get out of warm bed, and heat in a living room in the evening when you come home after work to hang out with your family. North(cold) orientation is reserved for rooms: that need cooling all year round like kitchens(as cooking produces substantial heat), need to prevent potential solar overheating due to large openings like conservatories, need to have more stable and neutral lighting like offices or painting/drawing classrooms, or just technical rooms where insolation is less important like storage rooms, garages, etc.

It isn’t as simple as just north vs south in Australia either. The same applies here when it comes to climate zones, wet/dry seasons, etc. however it is a basic starting principle for those interested. After which most people dig digger for specifics in their area or hire an architect. One size never fits all

I laughed at the toilet door one because the first house I built was an argument between myself and the ex-wife. I wanted the toilet door, she didn't. I wanted to build the house with the idea of aging in place, so make it future-proof as possible, she didn't care about all that.

The shower, doors and windows for instance don't get a mention of the new NCC changes. Ie 1.2m forward of the toilet, 870 minimum doors, waterproofing requirements within the shower, open outward doors to the toilet etc and not to mention energy efficiency requirements.

Trying to make the content relevant world wide hence limited mentions of AS/NZS and NCC
