Looks like you graduated from Curtin uni. I'm also on my last 3 subjects in my Master's degree with Curtin. I have been a building designer for 12 years in NSW so I already have a lot of experience in the industry. How have you found being a registered architect? I feel like the journey to becoming registered is very tedious from studying, logbooks etc. I just hope its worth it in the end.
Hey mate, yes Curtin grad here. Congrats on making it this far! It is definitely a long and tedious road, but there is immense personal satisfaction at the end of it. I believe there will be more value as time goes on and laws become even more stringent around who can design what. Best of luck with your logbook journey, focus on contract admin towards the back end and you’ll do just fine

Here in the UK you can leave secondary school without any qualifications and set up an architectural practice the next day. Not as an architect of course but you are permitted, due to the lack of sensible legislation, to design buildings. They even have the, miss placed, confidence to call themselves architectural designers/consultants!
Technically you can do that in AUS with no qualifications at all, not even a tafe diploma.
‘Architectural’ is protected in the UK. You can call yourself a building designer or similar, but not an architectural designer
@@DavidTomic In Victoria you have to be registered with the Victorian Building Authority to be able to pass off any drawings for approval by a building surveyor. And to become a registered Building Practitioner, you must have the required qualifications and experience. All this helps to protect the client from unqualified individuals.
The only other way is to submit plans as an owner builder. Which is a bit sketchy (pun intended).
Best advice is to just go with an Architect/ Design firm, or builder that is building the project, because their experience will (should) equal time saved in constant mistakes and stuff ups.
