SQ-1 about $80, can find Model D around 275/300, add some pedals you got a cool, simple, affordable setup, SQ-1 has some cool tricks up it's sleeve too
I just saw the Proton. It looks pretty cool. To be honest, I think the Proton could do everything the Model D can plus more. Definitely has more options for patching
I do love my Model D, use it with my BeatStep Pro. I then just get a 16 or 32 step sequence going and tinker about until I've got something nice and save it. Then before I know it, I've got a nice bassline to work with. Secondhand, the model D is an absolute no braining. Feed that signal through some effects and it really starts to shine. I suppose we should be giving Moog the credit here, but I can't afford a Moog.
@@fatkev1983 I would have loved to own a Moog but it’s never gonna happen. If I did spend that sort of money on a synth, it would probably be the only one I would own
@@toyzintheattic I think I'd have to choose the Roland Jupiter 6. Not sure if both are in the same price range these days. I already got my original Roland JX3P ticked off the list but as far as vintage Roland synths go, its a "bargain". That and the Arturia Matrixbrute are my two most expensive synths, never gone over £1200. The rest have been budget and or bargains I've sourced second hand. Got an array of 80s and 90s trash I love. Casio HT6000 anyone?
I have seen it. My mate has the older version and that is pretty cool. I have all sorts of pedals from playing guitar. I moved away from multi effects units a few years ago
@@toyzintheattic WoW .... IM Well suprised you havent got one , i have an old Boss GT-8 I used to use religously but dropped it once i got the Zoom i ended up buying 2 ,, and have just ordered the new PLUS one a few hours ago i honertly cant recomend them enough .. Especially for Synths ,, i dont know anyone who hasent got one in there Dawless setup ...
I find the same with all of the Behringer clones -- they can sound really amazing like this, but they really do need effects added to them to reach their potential!
You highlighted the real reason no one really needs a super high end synth these days - effects, they are cheap and plentiful. Back in the day, not the case at all and the synths really had to shine or you had to get clever with how you treated the signal... or pay a lot of money for an off the shelf effect.
Google suggested this and I watched. Enjoyed! Liked, subscribed
👍Thank you 🤩
@@toyzintheattic please keep up the good work
Fuck I love electronic music...and this is why. Sweet!
Thank you. 🤩
I love it too. I get lost in the moment with stuff like this
I found this after a UA-cam suggestion... great one! very mellow sound
Thank you. I love the sound of analog synths 😁
cool jam, cool tones, cool sequence :)

@@toyzintheattic The DFAM & Subharmonicon are wonderful, but as you say, so costly.

I love the fact of how affordable they are, though. I would never be able to have a Model D

@@fatkev1983 exactly. Proof of this is the Modal CraftSynth that I own. It cost less than £100 and I’ve had some amazing sounds from it
Yep! I was lucky enough to already have a great guitar rig to hook into.
