That would make the game too easy. It is all about walking the tightrope of resource income and expenditure, and part of that is guaranteed attrition from battles. Outspeeding enemies would allow you to kill them without expending resources, which would increase the number of encounters that generate resources for free.
Hey Nookrium. You said you liked the in-game music, so then i think you might want to check out this nordic band called 'Valravn'. (Valhalla Raven.) The song called 'jeg drømte mig en drøn' (i dreamt myself a dream) is actually the first known documented viking melody, and interpreted by Valravn of course.
I think the description is written poorly. The apprentice didn't quite attack twice, it attacks two separate targets once. If there's only one target it attacks that target once.
this doesn't really seem balanced well, very nice concept however I suspect the fact that you gotta waste mana to attack first and waste mana on creatures because the enemy attacks first
Having played it for a couple hours, I think it would be too easy if the enemy didn't go first. At least with the other casters. The lich was a little underwhelming. You really do have to think things through if you want to win, though.
seems unbalanced becouse it isnt shit easy? Its a single player game giving the ai the upper hand is fine since they are stupid and cant think. You having the ability to think and getting the upperhand would be unbalanced since you would never ever die.
I love open world roguelikes. CDDA is a good one with a lot of options. Open source and recieves daily updates (has a launcher that can auto/semi auto/manual update).
CDDA is so awesome it's just too overwhelming for most people to get into and ascii ofcourse. The only games that came even close imo is Project Zomboid and when it comes to difficulty Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress.
It's weird that you always go last...means you have to take tons of damage and all your classes are castor's so...I think they should add a speed stat instead.
Remember to let the game catch up, because if you hit a command too soon it may either crash or have double script across the screen.... From experiencing it myself.
Are you playing as the Lich? I find the Lich really hard to get started with because Mana Dart is a terrible attack, and you always start with a useless summon spell. If you can unlock the Battlemage, I think that's a good beginner character - she has 17 health, generates mana when taking damage, her basic damage spell deals damage equal to your current Souls +1 (so it basically one shots everything once you get going), and like the Lich can heal herself. The basic strategy is to collect as many artifacts as you can in the early game before your Notoriety gets high. Specifically, you want the one that lets you learn any spell, because most of the spells are terrible. Next pick artifacts that generate mana. Then you want to learn the most efficient spells. Great spells: Imbue gives you Counter 4 the whole battle for 2F. Bless gives you Armor 2 for one turn for 3W, which in later fights can prevent 10-20 damage depending on enemy numbers and multiattackers, which is a waaaaaay more efficient use of Water than block spells. Those two spells can mostly carry you through the mid game. You'll also want a selection of fire spells for when stuff absolutely needs to die now. Roots and Step are good spells for avoiding fights with raid parties during the mid game when you're trying to fill out your artifact collection and your mana income isn't stable yet - with those spells you can usually arrange to only fight at locations where it offers a benefit. The key is to hit up as many locations as possible that give you a chance at artifacts, because they make a huge difference in your mana income. If you're using the Imbue/Bless strategy, you want exactly one front line character to soak up all the attacks and counterattack. With the Battlemage this is you. With the other characters, you can recruit or summon a single front liner to fight for you. Extra front liners are liabilities - you don't have enough mana/spells to defend them and they distract enemies from your counterattacker. tl';dr most of the spells in the game are traps, summoning is a terrible strategy, artifacts are the key to victory, focus on buffing a single front liner
@@imperiallarch7610 I later got better in the game. It seems like if the starting map sucks it is better to reroll. Thanks anyways. Lich is still good in early game because mana dart produces mana. Step is also a must spell to move around without producing much notoriety.
Also, every encounter has a built in notoriety, and if yours is too high the enemy gets reinforcements. Once you get above extreme notoriety, the raiding parties stop coming because they know they can't win.
You should have stayed in the lower level area longer...and gathered more farms for gold, before becoming greedy with power...gain power in the empty woods coast lines take your time don't rush things...imagine how hard the capital building will be...
Devs should remove ai goes first; instead have a speed stat for all units.

it seems mana generation doesn't scale well with mana expenditure. it looks like you definitely need to find and keep the mana increasing relics.
or you can play archmage, get the step spell then click it repaeadtly to boost arcane then make an army of fire demons. worked out well for me

He did choose double cast... Poo apprentice got super confused xD
yeah you can see the box light up then when Nook flicks between them it switches lol must be a bug
I guess she didn't quite get it.

Thx for browsing through itch and finding these games. Every time im looking for something cool in there i spend an hour and end up with nothing.
I’ve spent many hours coming up with nothing too, every once in a while something good pops up though
I was like " CHOOSE THE LICH" Yassss!
this doesn't really seem balanced well, very nice concept however

Not to mention there appears to be a encounters to heal you and party to full for 20 gold in inn and warlock is 100 gold
That doesn't seem unbalanced since you get mana for killing them
@@Petterwass but you lose mana if they kill your dudes and they get to do it before you if you don't use mana etc.

I have fallen I love, this reminds me of age of wonders
That's a very true quote from Nietzche right there.
Really cool game. Thanks for showing.

Also has mods.
And vechicles, and building, crafting, mutations, etc
Yes CDDA is awesome it’s a shame no one knows about it when I try to talk to them about it

To be honest, I've only had success at this game as a Psychomancer.

= o
You did click on the multi casting, but in combat they had Ambush instead

Cool I'm gonna try this out
Looks cool i'll check it out
3:39 the soldier looks like a sprite from Age of strategy (mobile game)
Both images were taken from a free sprite gallery (I work in the game)
Octavio Gonzalez Ventura Oh, that explains a lot. Thank you
Fire whip and fire blast op, summon powers op, world powers useless, just a quick tip.
Also battlemage is extremely strong, because souls held turn into attack power
When will we see more Ymir? The game has great potetial
Soon!
Why its remind me a Wesnoth?
Ikr
Because the sprites are from there.
Overlord the game?
Sasuga Ainz-sama
My thought exactly
Is the game too hard or did I get worse in this type of games... I don't know.

Do a part 2
this would be excelent on mobile
What does a high notoriety do?
More notoriety = more and tougher peasant attacks

Graphics way to good for my Cellphone to play this! :-(
