I love how this video went from "Eh, doesn't sound that special" to "Oh my, that's some damn fine house right there..." over the course of the duration ^^ Thanks for this guide. I'm definitely going to try this out myself :)
Really appreciate the kind words and your support Rebecca thank you so much! 🙂 Yeah you can find loads of amazing ideas in your loops doing this technique! 🙌
@@carlboothmusic5194 I don't normally like to use loops. I use one-shot samples or synths, either VST or hardware, but for some reason I'd just not thought to record my own loops and manipulate them in this way. It's so obvious when I see it, but I dunno, it never occurred to me for some reason. It's great for getting that classic sampled french house sound though. I grabbed a few of your sample packs to scavenge for drum samples and such ^^
Thank you so much Oscar! I actually just used the standard Operator plugin in Ableton and added some saturation, really simple stuff mate, nothing complicated at all bud
Fantastic video Carl, only just discovered your channel, love it. You should definitely do a start to finish on this genre, you obviously have it down. I remember watching something similar way back when on Sonic Academy, this is on another level good.
@@carlboothmusic5194 I look forward to it mate, I will no doubt follow along and see what I can knock up. I do like the sampled disco style, I'm just never sure how to extend and idea into a full track. So cool you got plays by David Penn, I listen to Urbana sets most weeks as part of my house music diet.
Yes mate I recently saw a video on someone using Sound Paint and the strings sounded amazing. It's something I am definitely looking into buying mate :)
Thank you so much! :) Yeah its Ctrl + E bud! I use it all the time haha its ctrl + Z to go back on yourself too if you dont already know, i use them 2 all the time :)
