@@sean543213 You raise an interesting point. Chuck COULD have died from this yet Jimmy still didn't change after this. But maybe if Chuck died right then and there, Jimmy might have gone on the straight path.
Kim knew Chuck was right about Jimmy but she remains Loyal to Jimmy regardless. So she put on a show like if she didn’t believe him for Jimmy bc Jimmy would do the same for her.
Yeah Brandon thinks it's only because Kim wants to keep Mesa Verde. But it's for all the reasons she said to Chuck's face, that he never wanted Jimmy to succeed and he made him this way.
She also really wanted the client (Mesa Verde) that Jimmy got her using his scheme. Initially, he kept her in the dark about the details, so she wasn't implicated, but now Chuck let her in on what went down. She's a bit disappointed to find out the real reason she got the client back was due to crocked dealings, but she still wants the prize. I think Kim wants to believe that the world is fair and the good guys are rewarded, but Jimmy knows that to win you gotta get your hands dirty. She's slowly beginning to see that he's right, but for now she is conflicted. She will keep quiet, but she's not happy about it.

dude the fact that every time you think you know what's gonna happen, the opposite happens should be a testament to the writers. This is suuuuuuuuch a well paced, well written show.
I've no idea how they filmed Chuck hitting his head on the edge of the counter but that sickening crunch/thud never fails to make me cringe. . . . . . I legit thought Chuck was dead for sure after that kind of head injury. D:
Chuck hitting his head consists of three shots. The first shot, a closeup, is probably just the actor doing it carefully sped up in editing. The second shot, showing him fallling back the other way, could easily have been done with the actor sitting on his knees and swaying from left to right, also sped up. The third shot is the actor going landing, which could easily have been done with the actor just suspending himself on his elbow and then letting himself fall a short distance. Its not that hard to film, all you need is a camera. Its the editing and the sound effects that sells it.
I think they might have gone over it in the Insider podcast for this episode, but I can't recall offhand. In most cases it would be a mix of perspective / camera speed trickery, fake props, and padding. Maybe a bungee cord or safety harness to ease the fall and restrict movement, preventing them from actually hitting their head.
I saw a behind the scenes of Peter Schuler’s death in Breaking Bad, they replaced the floor panel his head falls on with some cushioning. It’s probably something similar here, or multiple shots like the other comments suggested

Kim Wexler is the best thing to ever happen to Jimmy, unfortunately Chuck sees her as another victim who needed to be saved. The only problem is that Chucks way of helping is stealing her clients, and telling her How awful Jimmy is without ever once saying one good thing about him.
