Good thing that Priuses are actually well made cars, reliable, efficient and practical, you don't seem them on mechanic shops a lot, unlike these Corvette money pits
It stops the Maintenance Required message from staying on your screen on start up. If you get your oil changed and they don't reset it, the maintenance message persists.
When the car needs an oil change it starts giving a warning "maintenance required soon" then eventually "maintenance required" and stays on until you reset it. I think it just is a mileage counter to give a heads up between every oil change to let you know it's time to do it again.
@@subtledriver I'm helping a lady with her car. I also have a Del Sol. I disconnected the Battery for 45 minutes just to make sure. It's supposed to be 15 minute disconnect. And then you have to let warm it up til the Radiator Fan goes on then let it idle for 15 minutes... a bit of a long reset and idle set if you ask me! hahaha...
@@MikeKollin I don't recommend disconnecting the battery, you lose all the self learn data. Del sol typically has a manual meter you press in with the car key on the Guage cluster, or possibly hold the trip button down when you turn on the key till the oil service light turns solid and turns off.
@@subtledriver Okay! Sounds good... I'll check it out... After I did the reset and the idle reset the car does run a lot smoother... P.s. just to be sure. When you say Trip button, do you mean the odometer button that resets the miles you have driven?
It worked with my 2012 Prius C. You have to follow his instructions exactly and press the trip button 3 times and HOLD IT DOWN ON the third push while the blue splash screen is showing.
prius c? turn key to on or run, dont press brake pedal, then press 3 times and hold on the 3rd press till the reset is complete on the display. make sure the splash screen is on 1st (wait about one second for that to show up)

that will bring me despair lol! too many owners don't maintain properly, and I end up dealing with freeze plugs and rust and frozen brake calipers.
Good thing that Priuses are actually well made cars, reliable, efficient and practical, you don't seem them on mechanic shops a lot, unlike these Corvette money pits
