I'm straight as they come. But George Hilton. Tomaś Milian and Franco Nero are... Yeah, we'll leave it at that. Haven't finished the video, yet. But that's my list. HaHa Edit: Jack Taylor! Watch Roman Polanski's Ninth Gate (with Johnny Depp). It's more of a modern film, but in many ways, it's an homage to 70s Euro Horror. And Jack Taylor is expertly utilized. George Eastman! Watch Sergio Martino's Hands of Steel. It's a blast. If you REALLY like him, watch Caligula: The Untold Story. Yeah. PS: Maybe check out Udo Kier (Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula). He's certainly "hunkish" in his own right.
Yeh I’m not gay at all but Franco Nero whooosh….Katie needs to look at Terence Hill too if she likes the “ice blue” eyes look…she needs to see the Trinity movies…
@@Ray-M59 Absolutely. The Trinity movies are essential. Has she even ventured into Euro Westerns? I don't think she has. I could be wrong, but I'm quite sure she hasn't.
@@metaldams78 Yes, he does. Udo Kier is a literal, living legend. Outside of the obvious roles, one of my favorites of his is Cigarette Burns (s1 ep 9 of Masters of Horror) directed by John Carpenter. It's a bona fide masterpiece.
Nice video. Bravo for remembering George Eastman (Luigi Montefiori), is one of my favorite actors and I think he is one of the best scriptwriters in European exploitation cinema. Greetings from Spain.
George Eastman was a surprise inclusion! But when I saw the insane exploitation movie Emanuelle and Francoise (in which he plays a complete bastard) I was thinking, "What a thoroughbred! What a Stallion!" I am adding Andrea Occhipinti and Antonio Mayans (clean shaven) and I have a soft spot for the incredibly strange Michele Lemoine.
@@diggskarlan5902 Antonio Mayans, in addition to his devilish good looks, really was the MVP of Jess Franco’s 80s and 2000s productions. Not to mention that he somehow made it through Commando Mengele with his dignity intact. He deserves our respect! And Michele Lemoine is a legend! Really solid director, too, and according to Tim Lucas one of the original Mario Bava fanboys, so we can also say he had impeccable taste.
omg, STALLION is a great word for him lol. I DO love Andrea Occhipinti! Antonio Mayans has a nice look too! Wow and this Michel guy looks like an alien.. but in a good way.
Great list Katie! Robert Quarry, as Count Yorga, yes, I have both dvd! Saw return of count Yorga at theatre at 10 years old! Dashing vampire! He also did a hippy vampire movie before Yorga! Jean Sorel, love him, especially the Hurricane movie, I've got to get that movie! Tinti was superb, Laura Gemser, her films are something else! She and Tinti did alot of movies together! Have a great day, dear! Christopher Lee, have 4 of his Dracula movies. Great actor and his cousin was Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond! Always enjoy watching. Take care, dear!😊❤🌷✌
I just got the Dr Jekyll and the Werewolf blu ray. Jack Taylor gets an interview and a featurette. He’s still with us and seems like a cool guy. He is indeed a regular in these films and did Paul Naschy’s voice in a lot of the English dubs. My Dad was born in 1950, so he’s the age of some of the early 20 somethings in these early 70’s films. Looking forward to a future edition gushing over Luciano Pigozzi, Victor Israel and the newspaper stand dude from TORSO who looks like Bon Scott on meth.
….and I want to add, I figured you’d like Mickey Hargitay after seeing BLOODY PIT OF HORROR. Was happy to see you saw it. Though not in this video, this is as good a place as any to say I always thought George Hilton looked like a combo of Cary Grant and Freddie Mercury.
Oooh hey Marc! Okay I guess I've seen 3 of his films apparently. Great choice, I need to pay better attention. I DID consider Ray Lovelock but unfortunately the last time I saw him he was raping a nun which left a bad impression 😂
Haha. Was that Last House on the Beach? Another solid Florinda Bolkan performance in that one. I highly recommend Live Like a Cop Die Like a Man if you haven't seen it, directed by Ruggero Deodato.
Hi Katie, you may have done something like this before, but I was wondering if you might consider making a video (or series of videos) focused on gialli where you take a back-to-school approach. Basically, you create a kind of syllabus where you recommend essential gialli films that conform to certain types: fashion, crime, whatever. It’s basically a form of a tier video, but you would be teaching the audience about whatever type of giallo you are discussing. Why is it worth watching and what does it bring to the genre? I think it would be fun to do when students are going back to school. You could play a character like a tough professor or whatever. I think it could be fun. You could even create your own Hogwarts of Giallo by bringing on other UA-camrs as professors in a particular type of giallo. It was an idea I had, and it may not be a good one, but I thought I’d share. Love the channel.
That's a great idea! I've done something kind of like that where I break the genre up into little "microgenres" and give recommendations that way. Kind of similarly, I was planning a video of "8 gialli to get your horror friend into the genre". Because I'm really not happy with my "5 gialli for beginners" video at this point but I can't just repeat it. Sweet N Spooky channel actually did a sort of 'teacher' thing on her channel as an introductory video too! Those are some great ideas but one month from now my work is going to consume my life again so it'll be barebones videos whenever i have the time 🥲
I saw his daughter on a blu ray extra and thought she was attractive. Had to be in her fifties - which is not a stretch to be attracted to when one is in his mid 40’s. 😂 His brother was good enough to marry Edwige, so good genetics.
I agree with your choices, especially Pierre Clementi and Jean Sorel. I would also include Brett Halsey cuz I'm weirdly attracted to him lol. And Fabio Testi, but I can't remember if you already included him in your giallo hunks video
You like the FRENCHMEN haha! Brett Halsey looks INCREDIBLY familiar but it looks like I've only seen him in 2 things? I can see it.. an interesting face for sure. And yeah, I mentioned fabio in the giallo hunks!
I’m rather partial to Alain Delon and Fabio Testi myself. Claudio Cassinelli, Conrado San Martin (another Franco alum!), and Giacomo Rossi-Stuart are all solid Euro-hunks as well. Regarding your list, all worthy contenders, but George Eastman gets extra points for writing Porno Holocaust. (Speaking of, do we dare include Mark Shannon and his notorious nodules?) Hoping to see your list of favorite Euro-Twinks next: I think Gianni Dei of Giallo a Venezia fame will win by a landslide, but I’m sure Ray Lovelock and Peter Bark will give him some stiff competition.
WOW. I'm looking at Alain Delon and he looks like an angel. I haven't seen ANY of his films. Aw, i do like cassinelli too. omg 😂 ya know, gianni dei gave me the freakin creeps but there are SOME google image search photos of him that don't look half bad.
Why I said "A man called blade" aka Mannaja 1977 on the the livestream was because Maurizio Merli is in it. It was my first time seeing him then I found "the tough ones". Also in mannaja has Martine Brochard from eyeball. And it's directed by Sergio Martino.
I can definitely get behind George Eastman/Luigi Montefiori. He's got that primal masculinity, even though one associates him with roles that are threatening (Rabid Dogs) or outright disgusting (Anthropophagus). However, I'm surprised you left out Franco Nero - perhaps one of the most beautiful men ever (he's even got those pale eyes you like). I would also include Antonio Sabato (Seven Blood Stained Orchids) on my personal stud list. My top pick - also not found on yours - would be Luc Merenda. It's the smoldering eyes, the cheekbones, and that distinctive nose.
I did a top giallo hunks video quite a while ago and I know Luc was on that one.. maybe Franco was too. And i had to look up Antonio Sabato but yes I would def agree! I remember him now!
