What do I need to do in order to swap the stard nema 34 motor to the clear path servo motor

Hi, how did you tune them? Because I believe you need to do it for each servo separately. Removed the gantry and add weight to each of them? Machine moves very nice.

Clearpath has a recommended procedure for this scenario:

The one twist in my case is that I'm using different motors on X and Y (X motor is larger) so I temporarily swapped one of the Y motors onto the X axis drive assembly before loading up with added weight and tuning per the above procedure.

Have you had any issue with the Z axis dropping with power off?

No - the Avid pro Z axis has a unidirectional drag brake on the ballscrew to mitigate that, which they claim can handle a 10kg spindle - and my spindle is not nearly that heavy.
That's one of the reasons that I elected to purchase their Z axis rather than build my own as I did with much of the rest of the machine.

@@funkenjaeger They make solid equipment. Getting ready to build my second machine from them here in a few months. Planning on using the ClearPaths on this build. Thanks for the info.
