Man you got more gear on than I own and I live in Michigan…get a foam mattress and a reflective layer for the ground or at least a couple of trash bags to fill with leaf material or grass . With a fire and tarp you need mostly layering underneath you. Have fun stay safe.
I normally do take something to sleep on but was just really curious about trying this shooting mat method. There was a lot more compressed leaf debri underneath than it looked. But I definitely experienced cold spots throughout the night
Look into the MSS bivvy and two bags well worth it brother and a FDF sleeping mat varusteleka . Then maybe an insulated pad . But it’s good to rough it like that good on you man can’t say I’ve done a night like that! Cheers man liked subbed
Thanks for the comment! I've used my MSS a ton over the past few years. I like mixing it up and doing a wide range of camping & gear testing. Glad to have to ya as a new sub!
@@procaliberhq the name is enough, I’ll check at internet I don’t buy at amazon they sold me used jeans for the price of new and blocking comment for this case
theres no way i would sleep on frozen ground like that without a closed cell foam pad it doesnt weigh anything...if you go in hypothermia while sleeping you lose all basic functions of your body

Great job preparing and spending the night with minimal gear in those freezing conditions. I give you a lot of credit! Well done
Thank you very much!
Cool vid Brother ! Your striker looks brutal AF, loved the oilskin poncho, I bet it's stealthy as hell in the woods (including noise)
Thank ya! The poncho is definitely a great stealth option.

There was a lot more compressed leaf debri than there looked. But good call. I've done this enough time to know my limit. Thanks for the comment!
When I camp out in a tent. I always look on ground for rock and wood tree branches. I also skruf up the ground surface. Helps a lot. Cheers
