learning the art of megalania - path of titans

- hello all! i got three of my good friends to join me on path of titans to try out the megalania! these are our first few hunts together as a pack as well as their first time playing the game. any tips or suggestions regarding builds or abilities are welcome as always, they can help us in future fights! thank you for your support and enjoy our struggle to survive ^^
Gonna refer to velociraptors as "velocishit" now 😭
fight against spino as meg:
1.if he have tail either get thick hide(or be defence type with normal hide) and try get to his legs from side but dont get under claws(still gona get hit from tail but there is chance gona land on your tail mean less dmg)
2.When he charge his bite he cant use claws or tail,there is also cooldown after releasing charget attack so the second you see him charging its the best moment to het at his ass
3.that was defence spino with propably defence hide judging bu the fact he dont even try use his tiny bit of speed what he had left so hes tanky as hell
4.remember in PoT weight class is a big thing,mean if by deafult meg have lets say 50dmg bite to his own weight class you gona do less dmg to anything heavier then you.
5.spino dont have stam on land in general so venom its just useless extra in that fight bc spino also dont use stam in any of his attack
6.Know your surrounding,if spino went on rock and you have numbers to distract him try beit him to turn so you can go in and out like one of you did in 9:31,if he would use tail at that moment he would not hit the meg 90% of the time.
Other tips(or things what i learned as meg main)
1.be aware of defence metris,or sometimes even balance(if you are balance or speed meg) they can straight face tank you and you cant run form them
2.pay biig attention to your stam,meg dont have much stam but regen rly fast for example ano would easy outstam meg so if you getting chased by something slower but with more then you make sute to get disctance and then sleep to just regen stam and run again.
3.small ponds are your friends if you need to wait for help from friends(or any water what have no aquatic/semi aquatic in it),meg losing stam in water crasy fast but you not gona drown,you can still swim up and down and your turning is not bad even with no stam so you can wait there if you trapped
4. you are spippery,rexes,allos,suchos or any big-ish dino walking on back legs might have issue to bite you even if you slip out of ass riding it,dont panic keep dancing around
5.less important but saving time,instead of eating from body just pick up and swallow the meat for meg its not even a sec of animation
6.presise movement ''X-turn'' when you are broken you precise movement sideways is faster then your normal limping
7.Aabout that anos,if you see ano charge tail rememebr after that he have 2-3 sec opening where you cna go in and bite him as much you want bc he cant do any attack with that cd
8.MY PERSONAL OPINION
1.defence meg is too slow and the defence increase is not big enough to balance that,speed meg...in straight line you ''faster'' enough to get one length of meg farther then balance meg,but you loosing A LOT of defence
2.if you play on server where you cna change abilities just by sleeping rememebr to use thick hide when you fight something slow or the thing already dont have stam(most fight you cna do on normal hide anyway but for start its just easier and faster)
3.if the server rules allow that,take turns and heal in the fight.Megalania healing is rly fast if you keep 80% water and food,find bush and take fast nap when your friends keeping things busy)
9.DO NOT bite each others def as meg,its better if two of you not gona spam bite and just get out instead of putting venom on each others...meg already have little stam and it can drain fast in the worst moment
10.If you see anything fast with a lot of stam(like metri,alio,laten,pachy) dont chase them around,ofc if you wana fight them you cna provoke them by just walking to them or 3 calling,after that stand still maybe pretend to be afk.To be able chase them you have to bite them before to apply venom(one bite in 90% is not enought),megs are good to track dinos,they are flas so harder to spot if they run away and you out of stam sleep rq and keep runing,you know they gona have to sit to get rid of venom and get stam back.
Well i think thats all what i got in mind while watching,have fun on PoT and rememebr if you see even just 2 megs be carefull they are enough to take down anything what is too slow to run form them
So the reason why the Ano started sitting down mid fight was because megalanias venom drains stamina, and one of the ankys attacks need stamina so when you kept biting the Ano couldn’t use its attack cause your venom drained it out.
Ohhh, that makes a lot of sense now, so does that mean mega essentially counters ano?? Thats really good to know for the future lol thank you for the explanation!!

Hmm yeah, it's got its issues, and I'd prefer BoB to it any other day, but I can see the potential it could have in the future. There is quite a bit it needs to work on like its questing, combat, and nesting would be nice. To each their own though, I respect it :)
