OOOMMMGGG😭😭😭😭 Finally!!! This has been one of the BIGGEST unsolved mysteries in my hair journey! My mom used to use the Anti Breakage Olive Oil hair grease in my hair when I was younger... but ever since I became more aware of my hair and started to do a proper regime and all of that... I COMPLETELY cut it out... And when smth happened and I had run out of everything... i found the grease lying around n I ended up using it... This all happened when I didn't have a proper moisturizer for my hair, I didn't know which products worked best for me yet so I was still experimenting and trying everything... And as soon as I used it... It's like my past flashed bfre my eyes and I was like... Yo my hair used to THRIVE on this shit😱😱😱 And before, I didn't use ANY other product on my hair either. JUST water and the grease to oil both my hair and scalp. And let me tell you something, when I used this, my hair would be super moisturized for the ENTIRE week... Nothing else added but a little water or so. And everybody loves my puff. It may not be as big but everyone always loves to feel my puff (even tho ion like it, but they say they can't help it) and compliment me on how soft it is.. To the point where they literally envy me😂 (not in such a bad way tho) OML I'm writing too much😭 but long story short... Yes these greases have Mineral Oils and Petroleum which EVERY natural is told to *stay away* from ever since recently, but WHY && HOW in the name of the Hair God is something sooo bad doing sooo good for your natural hair???????? I'm giving everyone an assignment to ask ALL they're reliable youtubers who specialize in this area if GREESE can, or should be used in your hair even tho it gives results a GOOD moisturizer should (beside the mere fact that it has Petroleum and Mineral Oils) and if not WHHHYYYY??????? So... Hair Grease, or Nah?😕 To the person who made it thus far... thank you for reading... God bless y'all for listening to me☝☝ May this question be answered and all our problems solved
Gabby B Swaggin' So true! my mom used POMADE (😆lol)on me when I was younger and that's when my hair was sooo long , shiny and soft. #royalcrown #Dax #Blue Magic
My mom use to use this in my hair as a child and my hair grew. The "experts" have made being natural so complicated. Our regiments were so simple when we were kids.
Waldia Bynes girl me too! I'm currently in cosmetology school and some of these gurus don't know what they are talking about. It wasn't until I stopped following all these natural trends that my hair started to grow.
People just need to use what works for them. If you want to use grease, then use it. If people prefer to use natural oils and butters on their hair, I don't see why it should be such a big deal.
RIGHT!! like dang not only is my hair dry, but it's breaking off. All cuz I stopped using grease and couldn't find the right hair products that didn't do anything for my hair. Man just give me back my water cup, a brush, and grease.
You know a lot of these "experts" stand to gain a lot of natural hair is seen as hard & expensive. If we all knew how simple it is we wouldn't need their "expertise".
Shardae I am going to make wash my hair and use this grease I bought. I just want a simpler routine. I don’t want to wash my hair twice a week. Our grandma and mom knows best. They were the first home UA-cam teachers.lol
I’ve literally been searching YT to find someone with your moms hair type that uses grease. I’m thinking of trying it but scared it will make my hair heavy.
Just a simple washing my hair, greasing it with some kind of grease and plaiting it up will do me just fine. Maybe buy some silk/satin pillow case as well will help me too. Was thinking about making my own bonnet since it seems easy anyways and I can't really find one I want.
@@phaleciasanders3422 Our hair is what it is.. If it's heavy because of a product we use that "works" then we'll have a strong neck, and a beautiful, fabulous, sensational, head of hair.... We, as naturally gorgeous African-American women have our unique crown, and its natural status is our cherry on top!
I wish I could like this video more than once. I'm going back to grease and water IMMEDIATELY. I'm over all these natural hair rules. I don't recall anyone having hair damage (even after using a hotcomb) from using grease.
Being a snow white woman I knew nothing about this until working with patients at hospital. Patients requested this and stated they needed this for hair care. We carry this for patient use of natural textured hair. I have had no complaints!
It still works.. society has made us think otherwise.... growing up we used pure petroleum mixed with castor oil and it worked, and that is a mix I still use today.. I also use the palmers olive oil gro therapy and my hair loves them..
I been using water and grease for years to do my rollersets and I oil my scalp with blue magic . I don't listen to others and I don't have to wash hair as often
Notice a lot of these hair greases have NOWHERE NEAR as many chemicals as these so called "all natural" natural hair products. For example, that royal crown grease has 3 ingredients: petrolatum, olive oil, fragrance.
so true,my so called 'natural' hair product has over 20 ingredients(most of which i can't pronouce) while the grease has only 9(petrolatum,mineral oil, castor oil, lanolin, wheat germ oil, vitamin a & b,fragrance and colour)
I use water, pink lotion, and blue magic. Hair has been growing like crazy! Stopped using gel. I grease my edges and wrap my hair at night, fine hair lay all day.
What’s crazy is this is the EXACT formula my mom says my hair needed when I was a kid and my hair was tailbone length. I bought a new thing a grease and said forget all these products I’ve wasted so much money on!
I grew up on those products and my hair grew. I got brain wash in using those expensive products. But I went back to old school my hair. You have to do what is best for your hair.
Hey Waldia!! I never stopped using hair grease... And remember when everyone kept asking me what did I do to my hair to make it grow so fast?!?! Well after watching this video, it makes sense..lol. I always said I didn't do anything special, I just made sure my hair was greased, including my scalp, and kept it moving. Didn't bother my hair much, and it just started growing healthy. I don't know why people say not to grease the scalp... it's important to moisturize your scalp... it's like a plant. you water the roots, not the leaves. lol. That's the best analogy I can come up with...lol. Great video!!
Hi can you please tell me where I can buy hair Grease in what shop because it is the first time I hear from this and I love too used it please lm from Capetown
I've spent tons of money in products.. Lately my hair stop growing and noooo produc worked.. I said "wait, I didn't have this issues as a kid uuh, let me go back to vaseline" yep petrolium left my hair AMAZINNNNNGGG!!!! Even my mom told me my hair was amazing! Ok its been 3 weeks and I thank God cause it means I'll save a lot of money on hair products!!!!!$
I'm 59 .And my mom was a beautician back in the day! She has 7 girls and did all our hair, and majority was 4b4c hair I definitely was 4c+,you hear me and al I know was ,blue magic,Royal crown, Vaseline if we were out of the others and a hot comb, never known breakage, until I got older and Stop using what worked and listen to this knew stuff and forgot who I was! Lol! But I just started looking at these products again, because my hair cant hold moisture for more than a day! So maybe I need to go back home to stop all this breakage and hair loss I got going on!!😉😊🤞
You are so right works better than what I been using I am staying with what works and yes it still works the same as when I was a little girl just that and water Denise simms $2.50 family dollar
Yes same here I remember my grandmother pressing me and my cousins hair we're talkin in the seventies and she use straight up white cooking lard to press our here for Easter LOL we're talkin 70's and my family from the south. Yeah I had already made up my mind lastlast week that I'm not spending no more money on these products that I end up throwing away because they don't do what they say they're going to do Indian hair grease in my water yeah I'm done spending fifty $60 every time I go to the hair store and hate the products.
Yes, girl. My hair has been transitioning for about 6 months and it's been soooo dry. Natural oils and butters don't work for me. But when I tried THIS again, omg yes, it really does soften and moisturize. It works well for me, so I'm sticking with this.
I'm licensed now for 17 years now and 3c texture and up can definitely take petroleum...it is thick on the scalp but u shampoo regularly so that wouldn't be a problem
Waldia Bynes remember we rocked grease and water all day long and we stayed soft all day....my natural hair is soft curls almost like biracial and I use a dap and water and it's all good ....I don't own any of the "curly hair" products on the market....my good ole conditioner and water and twist up works for me and for shine a lil olive oil
Thank you ladies because my mom used blue magic DAX and water I remember her using something called hair food and it lighted my 4c hair texture like magic. I relaxed my hair as a teen and just decided to go natural less then a year ago.I did my research and was surprised to find what was being said about hair grease.the trick is to use it on damp hair and scalp and massage so it does not just sit on your scalp.thanks for this video
Sneiko the Diva I used to use petroleum jelly, but I always used to get bumps on my scalp, but I liked how thick it was. I stopped using it, because of the bumps, but I needed something heavier, because my hair wouldn't hold a curl. So, I melted down Blue Magic and Beeswax and then mixed them together, to have a thicker product, and I love it!
The oils butters milks (sounding like a recipe for cake) never have worked on my hair....I went back to my blue magic with indian hemp! Works like magic
I am a stylist licensed for 18 years. I still use it.my grandma used it I have always had healthy hair. I think the reason why stylist told their clients not to use it is because the school that we get our license from are all teaching mostly other textures. The part of the training on our textures was only a month out of 11 months. unless you pay for extra class they on our hair. Hair extensions and and braiding are things you have to seek out. My grandmother and her mother before her where stylist. I got taught old hair from women who have been doing hair since the 1900. I am grateful for UA-cam . I just think we need to go back to old School hair styling. where we find what works for us and just do that
Not a stylist but I agree with you. I had to go back to using this and LIV because before perms that's what my mom used and it worked for me. I actually prefer the Indian Hemp plus it smells better than blue magic lol
Waldia Bynes I'm not a professional but I love the blue magic grease it softens your hair and it's very light weight...I use the blue magic with herbs the white kind...
Luella Springs I totally agree with you! I went back natural 7 years ago & became a product junky & addicted to UA-cam! lol I have gone back to Blue Magic. I use the kind with Indian Hemp in it. I love the smell! Lol My Grandmomma & Momma use to use Hair Rep in a silver can on my hair...I wish I could find it!!!
For the first time in a long time I used grease this winter and didn't need to cut of dry damaged hair by Spring. When I went natural for the second time in1987 I shampooed, conditioned once a week and applied grease when necessary through out the week. Never had dry breaking hair. Will definitely keep this up now. If sebum is a natural moisturizer and our hair is dry due to the difficulty of it traveling down our strands, then common sense, in my opinion, is that our hair needs a similar waxy type oil such as grease, jojoba or Shea butter.
I keep Blue Magic in the house for the boys (they have a coconut oil version). I say if it ain't broke don't fix it, it always made hair soft as long as I could remember
I'm a white man but I have very coarse, dry and curly hair and I'm a big fan of organics beauty products (I'm also an esthetician). BUT when it come to soften my hair I always use Blue Magic or DAX since a black friend told me about those! It is true that There is Petroleum Jelly in that and whatever you can Say about it, it is still a very good way to seal moisture inside your hair. And because all the other products I use are organics. I'm not affraid for my health.
Oh no where the hell have I been this past three year I been natural not knowing about hair grease, oh my goodness, am on my way 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️ to get my hair grease. thank you sister I love your vibes.
Same; I've tried petroleum-free products that I'm sure have some value, but my hair just drinks it up too quickly. Blue Magic locks in the moisture and keeps it there for me.
It works....Africans have used this for years and it's great when you braid hair and hair grows! My favourite pomade is Dax...since childhood...no regrets!!
I think Dax is great for women with super tick hair who are trying to makes it soft enough to manage with combs instead of fingers. I used it, but my had gotten too soft, it started to break.. But good product for 4c
Me too!!! I went back to it recently and my hair is thriving. I feel like with the continuation of hair grease BY December my hair is going to grow and break less.
*Hair grease is fine as it serves the same purpose as the other grease we call oils we use on our hair to seal in moisture.* When I was young my mom used Royal Crown on our hair. She was a single working parent with six children of which four are girls. She washed our hair with shampoo and conditioned our hair with cholesterol. She then put the grease on our hair while it was still damp. If our hair dried out while styling it she would dip the hair brush in water brushing our hair with the water laden brush and then add the grease and braided it up. *We are not doing anything new as there is nothing new under the sun.* It is nothing but a mind game that hair grease is bad planted by incorrect marketing subliminal messages that someone started because they got into the holistic, organic propaganda. If some tribes in Africa put red mud as a sealant verses oil on their hair and it grows the same can applied to grease. Its your hair do what you like but don't knock others. Cheers!
Beaute' Naturelle lol the dipping brush in water just brought back memories 😂😂😄 that is so true we didn't use the spray bottle most times, if we did we'd wait until the bottle from the curl or s curl our cousin or some uncle had was empty then we'd fill that up with water!! Why we have to complicate natural hair?!! lol when those french braids were done and my auntie would spread that blue magic down the middle of the braid, with all them beads hanging and clacking beautifully singing that Melody as they rocked side to side, nobody could tell you anything. All y'all who had beads growing up can hear them now 😉Or as it's literally said nobody could tell you nuttin Lol and topping it off with grease was the highlight I just hope that these companies will stay ethical and do their research and give us honest products whether it's grease or edge control
Beaute' Naturell crown royal, blue magic, pomade, pink moisturizer- mom used it all on my hair, and my hair always stayed healthy, and moisturized. I agree, this whole "natural" and "organic" propaganda is what helped push the idea that hair grease was unhealthy, and would somehow prohibit hair growth.
th3azscorpio absolutely truth our hair stayed healthy and moisturized and there are parents who still use our parents methods on their kids hair today but are not talking about it and their kids hair are flourishing. Look I still use grease and the technique mother used on me. Guess what??? Don't need no leave in conditioner after deep conditioning my hair. Our parents never used leave in conditioners so why are we so stuck on leave ins which in many cases sit on the hair or dry the hair out or only keep the hair soft for a day or two and then you must reapply. The oil industry is making money off of African American Naturals and laughing all the way to the bank. They are not giving back to the black communities only jacking up their prices and pocketing our coin. We need to wake up and learn to keep it simple. I am not against hair products because some of them serve important purposes however, grease is grease even if you call it oil or butters. If you can cook with it than it is grease babee. Enjoy your evening.
My hair loves greese more than oil. I had to stop letting these UA-cam videos tell me what was right and wrong, and start paying attention to what MY hair actually liked.
It worksssss girls yessss, it seals in moisture like no other oil can! It softens the hair leaving it manageable. It doesn't cost much. I'm glad you spoke out about this , oils don't work for me. Only for treatments.
Let me tell you I stand by #bluemagic. Their grease makes my hair soft and manageable. Just a little goes a long way. Those big jars last me like at once 3 months!😀
It's not that it isn't healthy. Many youtubers use moisturizing shampoos on their hair. Moisturising shampoos cannot get rid of petroleum, you need to clarify-- strip the hair. If you have no issue using stripping shampoos, then using petroleum isn't a problem.
Some ingredients in those products have been tested to be toxic. So it's not that I don't like grease, because it's great as a sealant and for getting rid of frizz. I'm just picker with the ones that I use. I love pomades. Especialy Carol's Daughter in the green container and squeeze bottle. It's greasy and does the job for me. I just prefer to use stuff that I don't have to always shampoo out. I don't like to strip my hair too often. But I don't think there is anything wrong with Blue Magic. Do what works for you. Heck, I might try some blue magic.
I've enjoyed reading all the comments. It sounds like everyone's mama used this and it works. I think sometimes companies put out so many new products that they overshadow things that really work. I enjoyed your video and all the ladies that responded to your video.
My mom greased my hair and scalp when I was a kid and my hair was down my back. Recently, my hair has been dry and breaking and I just went back to my grease. Glad to see others are doing the same thing.
I used Blue Magic on my hair for 3 months and my hair has grown so much! I have hair again like when I was a child. The first time I used it my hair did say thank you! It loved it, I use a conditioner with Aloe Oil now and the Blue Magic to seal it and GIIIIIIRL it works, my hair has grown ridiculously and I was a natural hair product junkie and after time my hair would get sick of those products and just end up so dry, I felt defeated and frustrated, like I would never find out what works from my hair. I have 4C High Prosperity hair so keeping moisture was a challenge. But I deep condition my hair, hair grease with a conditioner and once in a while Aloe Vera with water, but I found it. By the way I'm Haitian and I was like YAAAAAS she said Pomade!
As a teenager I wash my hair with Suave shampoo and conditioner. Blue magic blue or green hair grease had the curly natural Afro in the style you are wearing now and that was in the 70s. I still use suave products and the coconut hair grease, its the only product that keep my hair soft and relieve my dry itchy scalp. My mother's hair is a different texture naturally curly and she always used ultra sheen and they still sale it at walmart.
Yess this is sooo true like the saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it. I dont see ppl use grease much anymore we need to get back to what we use to do for real. I cant remember the last time I saw or used blue magic lol
I had beautiful thick curls growing up and all I used was water and DAX. Since I started with the all natural. No sulfates, parabens etc. I have had so much issues with my hair.
Hair grease works JUST fine on our hair. Moderation is the key with everything. Low manipulation, low tension styles, little to no heat helps your hair. Way back in the early 90’s when I 1st transitioned I used Indian Hemp or Natures Blessing's hair grease for my double strand twists. Grew long, maintained thickness. There were literally no options for curly creams and puddings and what nots. The only gel was dippity do and pro line. Then all this mess in mean product started coming out and we bought it all chasing 'defined' curls and 'wash and go' wet curl looks mainly because we still didn't truly embrace our hair as it grows out our heads. Long story short use grease if you want to.
@@ademiprincesshk I have since changed my whole mindset about the use of hair grease. It may have some use on certain styles maybe some kids styles but not for curl definition and not if you are not going to properly wash your hair on a weekly basis. I have actually NOT used extra oils, grease, butters on my hair since March 2020 and my hair is super hydrated and curls stay defined wash day to wash day.
Thank you for sharing am going BACK to BASICS. My hair is 3c/4a & good old Blue Magic works for me. I refuse to waste anymore £ on products I have seen on utube. (WE are been programmed to spend more £ unnecessarily) Blessings from England.
I have been licensed for 16 yrs. I Completely bought into the high end products and oils and butters and still see the value. But in the last 6 months, i just could not keep my ends moisturized, and i was like, you've had hair half way down your back twice in life, and both times you were using what?... hair grease! My hair responded very very well. $2.99 versus up to $30+. As they say, don't forget where you come from. My neices hair is almost to her waist, and my mother mixes a cream deep conditioner with a very very cheap hair grease. Her hair maybe a 3c/4a. But she's 6, so the weight of the grease is not a concern because she wears ponytails or cornrows. My hair is 4c, and is weighed down by nothing, so its part of my normal routine now...again.
Wow thanks so much for sharing! I definitely see and feel the difference in my hair since I've started using this hair grease. I'm going to keep this in my hair regimen!
When I was younger my mom used this same grease on my hair or even Vaseline petroleum jelly on my hair. My hair was washed with soap...bathing soap lol and my hair was soft and down the middle of my back.......years later after relaxing for a number of years and finally going back natural I struggle with finding my Holy grail product and my hair has never regained the length and thickness and texture as when I used bathing soap water and grease......thank you for this video. I'm going back into time with my old school products
Amla oil is something East Indian women use. But when you buy it the first ingredient is mineral oil. East Indian women are known for their long thick hair.
now here's a thought. There are some that advise to dab a touch of vaseline on their eye lashes to help it to grow. And they do grow thicker. Vaseline is made from petroleum as does mineral oil.
My black dermatologist speaks against the use of petroleum jelly because it is believed to interfere with the endocrine system functioning contributing to many health issues such as cancers. My question to him was, 'Why do they still use petroleum jelly in hospitals?'
Lakitha Goss Haha nice comeback! Some of these so called "licensed" physicians don't know what the hell their talking about. Ive never heard of petroleum having disastrous health risk- ever. I'll gladly use grease, it works, and there's plenty of proof of it doing so.
It's crazy how the " natural hair community " has told people not to use hair grease because it clogs your hair but when we were younger and it grew so long but it's such a bad thing now I don't get it either 😐
I didn’t get that either until I was enlightened the Natural Hair Community day we shouldn’t do they can push their products and we stupidly buy into it spending massive amounts of money when the cheap old school products work...I say we get back to our roots I started using Blue Magic and Natures Blessings in my 2 daughters hair and it does wonders I couple that with one of the blue magic leave ins and bam it’s a Slam dunk !!! Team Hair Grease
Girl I’m 69 and I remember Dax, Sulfer8, Dixie Peach and Blue Magic. We spend so much money on hair products and it’s the old tried and true products that still work.
I think some of these naturals are taking this natural hair journey to far! you're RIGHT Blue magic has been around for ages and let me say As kids we had some shiny long thick ponytails and let's not forget the greasy forehead with the slick down baby hair's..😂😂😂. Girl I'm DONE listening to these damn NATURAL hair UA-cam's. I'm going to do what's best for my HAIR. I stop fooling with them when they started rinsing their hair with Coca-Cola... girl I will NOT take any participation in this NONSENSE. also our mothers use to apply the damn grease to our scalp and our hair was Stupid long! if it didn't clog it then, I'm sure it won't clog it NOW. guarantee if you keep using that blue magic you're going to see some major growth. take a BEFORE and after picture. ALSO I used blue magic on my son's hair and let me tell you girl his hair is Thick and Long!! SUPER Long. I wish I can send you a pic. blue magic and water, that's it. NO coconut oil, NO olive oil, NO jojoba oil! none of that extra crap! just grease and water.
I think people don't want to hear it but we conformed thinking greasy hair was bad and somehow the smell was offensive😂 Too many of us started believing white people's views about our hair. Why I don't know. Also when bouncy hair because the thing. Not that petroleum is the best thing but I use this with water or a little bit of activator before bed then brush with the cheapest brush so when I woke my pony tail was curly!
I have 4a hair. Before I got a relaxer my granny use to use blue magic on my hair, and my hair was mid back length and very thick. I miss those days. Sitting in my little chair getting my hair done. 😊😊😊😄😄😄
blue magic is it! don't believe the hype. everybody is trying to capitalize on the natural hair market. I use this on a regular basis and it does wonders just like back in the day. as a little girl my hair was thick, healthy and down my back. if it was so bad, my hair would not have been so healthy and long. I did the big chop, 2 and half years ago and have been using this on my hair and scalp. my hair yet again as an adult has grown very long and healthy. but I only put it on my scalp after washing my hair... only once a month. but I use it on my hair regularly throughout the month on my twist outs and protective styles. but when washing my hair, I be sure to rinse with apple cider vinegar to get rid of all product build up.
I had a patient who was in her 70's. Here hair was long, thick, and grey. Her daughter came in daily to comb her hair with HAIR FOOD GREASE and water. That did it for me...Give me some grease and Afro Sheen/ StaSofFro anyday!
This is an epiphany. My hair was long and midway down my back as a child. . We used Royal Crown or Vaseline. Now my hair is all dried out and does not retain length even though it grows consistently. All the perms and products have stripped out the moisture. Thanks you so much.
So I'm talking to my mom and she like yeah all I used in your hair was Vasaline and water. Uhm.... so tomorrow I'm may have to go pick this up. I know we have to watch for build up. but thats with any product or oil we use. I'm ready for a simple hair regiment.
You should not get build-up, if you wash your hair regularly, with a sulfate shampoo! I use petrolatum products and I do not have a problem, but I wash my hair regularly to keep my scalp clean.
I have found that my hair grew longer, stronger, and quicker when I kept my routine simple! All that fancy, expensive stuff has not helped my hair flourish at all. After being a product junkie for the first few years of my natural hair journey, only to realize that my natural hair used to grow faster and was stronger, when I was not using all these popular "natural hair" products, I have simplified my life. Now, I spend less money on my hair and it is easier to manage!
I was one of those no-mineral-oil-no-petroleum new age naturals, and my mother was always asking why I was doing the most haha One night I was at my Grandma's house and used her Dax... Girl. Girl. The softness and manageability... I can't even tell you. Haven't gone back since.
My mom use to use this on my hair religiously. I need to buy some of this because my hair is dry and I don't wash until next Saturday night. Thank you for refreshing my memory. This worked good on my hair back in the day.
I was hesitant like you. I tried it a couple of weeks ago with twists. I used over my leave in and my hair was soft soo soft. It felt like air. It's part of my staple products. You will need a sulfate shampoo to remove, because it will leave a white film if you a sulfate free shampoo. I got frizz when I used the grease in a wash and go. Im still learning what truly works for my hair. Im enjoying my journey, big chop 2011.
Thanks for reminding me about this! I've been using this for 2 weeks and my hair is thicker and soft ! I threw out all my "natural" stuff. My pockets definitely thanks you❤️❤️❤️
I have thin, medium porosity, type 3 hair and this does work! It elongates my hair and keeps moisture in, even in the humid environment I live in. I used Blue Magic Shea Moisture. You can put grease on your scalp, just make sure it's wet first
My mother used Vaseline everyday on my hair and I've always had healthy, waist length hair. I use my husband's Blue Magic when I run out of Shea butter and have no issues.
Rachel Snoddy Omg thank you!! Finally I found someone who used Vaseline.. in high school back I Africa I did my own hair cos I used to swim a lot. And my hair was natural for school and I did threading to keep it straight and it would be almost bone straight. I used Vaseline blue seal and it never reverted to curly until I washed it. all my friends used to marvel at my hair and ask what I did to it and I would just say washing only. I didn't have to say threading cos all the African girls did that at school, it was a given so I never had to mention that bit but they couldn't understand the texture and beauty of my hair. it looked so moiturised and I had the longest hair. Yes I have to say I have started going back to hair grease, in particular Kuza the light hemp one. Smells nice and makes my hair soft. I'm going to try to spray on some water from now on too before applying it. I have been to the moon and back with fancy moisturising hair creams- they don't have the same effect. and I think the best Vaseline to use is the one made in Africa cos I have to say I did try Vaseline a couple of year back but it made my natural hair rock hard - might have been to do with the fact that it was made in UK I don't know. or else it might have been the hard water in that area. But yes think grease is nothing but good for the hair.
I have heard many non-Black people with curly to straight hair do use grease, but they use a very small amount on damp hair on the ends of the hair, not the roots. I would not use too much on fine/thin hair! Start off with a pea-sized amount and add more, if needed! That would be my advice. The last thing you will want is weighed down hair.
Hair grease works wonders! my natural hair journey led me back to blue magic (they have them infused w. castor oil, Shea butter & so forth), and my 3c 4a hair loves it! Just like Mom used use when my hair nearly touched my butt! The whole naturally movement is all about $$$$. We can learn what works for us!
I went natural back in 2010/2011 and Blue Magic was one my main 'go-to' products before all of these current fancy hairlines. I honestly have no idea why I stopped Blue Magic, but I remember it keeping my hair feeling moisturized for days...unlike those 'lightweight' carrier oils. And yeah, I also tried Dax pomade back then as well..the red , blue, and green one.
Women back in the day used grease religiously and had beautiful afros. Somehow we strayed away from what worked to putting all this money in companies pockets.
I use greasy on my scalp. When i put oil my scalp it wouldnt last a day. It would be itchy and irritated. My scalp is very very sesntive. I tried on my hair at first but i didn't like it so much i think cause i was using a light greasy. So i tried it on my scalp and i didnt have to re-apply for 3 days. I did some research before using it. Petroleum doesn't moisturize it just softens but also very good at keeping in moisture. So when i put this on my wet scalp it was moisturize for days until the border(of petroleum) wore down. On the bottle it last 2-3 days so i can re- moisturize. Thats my experience.
Blue Magic was always the black girl's hair best friend before shea moisture, cantu and all them fancy brands came about. I still use it sometimes to oil my scalp and keep it soft and all.
Girl after experiencing so much dryness and being a product junkie and currently big chopped I found this in my house and used it and I’ve never experienced such moisture before. It was amazing. I got worried and started doing research by going on UA-cam to see If I wasn’t the only one. Thanks for this review 💕
I use heat ( blow drying regularly), grease ( hair and scalp), mineral oil ( leave ins, conditioners, hair oils), silicones (heat protectant and conditioners) and my hair is growing like never before. I have found a happy medium between new techniques and products and tried and true methods and products. Using what works and agrees with me through trial and experimentation. When its all said and done, it's hair, we have to keep it moving. Life is too short to be constricted to just one way of doing and thinking.
Y'know before I started applying grease in my hair my hair was looking RUFF and I didn't know why, so I started thinking about what my grandmother used to use on my head which was just grease and water so i started using that in me head and BABY!! you don't know how much my hair thanked me for that!! I get compliments about my hair and people always ask me what i do to it, and when i say i use grease they're usually shocked because of the hogwash people said about ig online. it is so much softer and at first, I only applied it on my hair only but i put it in my scalp too
Mommas and GrandMas knew what they were doing with our hair. That is why we always had long ponytails with pretty barettes and hair bows. Obviously they knew what they were doing.
Blue Magic is fine, my momma used it and it worked then and it still does. I don't use Aloe vera, oils or none of that stuff no more. I use water and blue magic and yes I do use sulfur 8 on my scalp.
I use it on my hair line the most because it helps keep it moisturized the longest especially since I workout a lot. Nothing else has ever kept my hairline/edges as moisturized as good as this. My edges are beautiful too.
Girl y'all can keep the she's moisture and Anti kinka bud butter. Hair grease is the only thing that keeps my hair soft and moisturized for DAYS. Spray with regular old water, the same stuff Jesus walked on. Then saturate my hair with grease and it's shiny and bouncy all day. Love it.
I use whatever doesn't irritate my head 💞 I have tried and had great results using most products. Still own a jar of Blue Magic, Dax and Hair Rep! I will still apply to my scalp as well!
Blue magic has worked for years the green the blue and the coconut I love it and sulfur 8 and will continue to be a stable in the hair bow box. Plus its made in my home state 🇺🇸 of Mississippi in olive branch
Not even finished watching this video and I subscribed. I grew up on blue magic in Jamaica and I had healthy long hair. I transitioned over a year now and I had been using all types of oil and I was not felling it. I went back to blue magic about three weeks ago and I love it.
I'm loving hair grease so far. I used to associate it with bad hair care practices because of how broken and short my hair was when relaxed/heat straightened. Got the Softee Indian Hemp on a whim to cut down frizz on my crochets weeks ago (didn't work lol). My natural hair desperately needed something better to seal than oils & butters so I gave Softee a try. My hair was moisturized ALL week! I also noticed some varieties with lanolin feel slightly less greasy than ones with just petroleum & mineral oil. But I use whatever smells good!
It works for any hair type. And yes, you can use it for 2 weeks straight without it making your hair dirty, depends on the quantity you put in. Just wash your hair every 2 weeks with a good shampoo. Doesn't matter. This holds moisture in my hair for a full week at a minimum without having to add anything else the entire time. I don't apply to my scalp but I will try it and see what happens. Don't knock it until you try it.
I use grease even for my twistout. And they shine and stay moisturize for days. Idc what anyone says, I will continue to use it Bcz IT WORKS FOR ME! Lol
I haven't use blue magic in a while but I still use grease to this day I use the Softee coconut grease and I really like it but I still love you Blue Magic I buy the green how about whatever color that long as my hair ain't dry and I still use old fashioned pressing comb that's just me I'm old-fashioned I'm only 39 but I'm still old-fashioned my grandma used to press and curl my hair with the pink rollers and and blue magic blue or green and I'm still using it to this day
I put that in my scalp and it really grows your hair when I first did my big chop my hair was really short so I use blue magic 2-3months later my hair is almost the same length it use to be but healthier
I went back to mane and tail shampoo and conditioner, spray aloe juice and the blue magic organics grease and havent looked back in a year. My hair & girls hair love it. Love your makeup❤
Thank you I remember using grease when I was younger IDK why I stopped. Started back using it on myself and my family's hair. I brought back my pink lotion. Everyone's hair is thriving. I'm a just go back to some of the basics.
So... Hair Grease, or Nah?😕
To the person who made it thus far... thank you for reading... God bless y'all for listening to me☝☝ May this question be answered and all our problems solved
LOL love it!!!! Hair Grease or Nah?????? I say hellllll yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Gabby B Swaggin' Nothing helps me detangle, slick hair, and seal in moisture better then Greese BlueMagic 4C hair only
Love it.
Gabby B Swaggin' So true! my mom used POMADE (😆lol)on me when I was younger and that's when my hair was sooo long , shiny and soft.
#royalcrown
#Dax
#Blue Magic
Lmaooo @ this super long msg
My mom use to use this in my hair as a child and my hair grew. The "experts" have made being natural so complicated. Our regiments were so simple when we were kids.
Rebecca Jean so true! It has become so complicated and it shouldn't be. I want that ole thing back 😂😂
Waldia Bynes girl me too!
I'm old school and cheap! Hair grease all the way! We better not rave too loudly about the virtues of grease. The corporations will raise the price!
Jane Doe Right! That was the first thing I thought also. They will jack up the price and change the formula.
😂Sad truth! Shhhhh...
Jane Doe PREACH PREACH PREACH 👏👏👏👏👏. Pass the plate....offering time. 😉
Jane Doe You can also make your own start out with Vaseline & add more ingredients. 😊
BeAuTiFuL Smile That works for you? And what type of hair do you have?
My mum has been natural for 15 years and only uses water and blue magic. Her hair is waist length. She has 3c/4a hair
Me too! So happy I stumbled upon this grease. Will continue to use forever !
EXACTLY! LOL
Any results?
I totally agree with you!!!
😂😂😂💯
N Leno when I had my Afro, I comb and brushed my hair every day and it grew thick and long.
Same here. I still use a lot of the old school products. Noxzema and Oil of Olay.
MumNatural right all my grandma and Mom used on me and my sisters was vasoline/ crown royal/ palmers grease and blue magic and ponytails
My hair loves it too! Or light conditioner with grease. Works great in my hair.
I been using water and grease for years to do my rollersets and I oil my scalp with blue magic . I don't listen to others and I don't have to wash hair as often
Just tried the vaseline and castor oil. So far so good.
Notice a lot of these hair greases have NOWHERE NEAR as many chemicals as these so called "all natural" natural hair products. For example, that royal crown grease has 3 ingredients: petrolatum, olive oil, fragrance.
Ashuntae My godmom used crown I liked it way better than blue magic.
Ashuntae so true...
Ashuntae soooooo true
so true,my so called 'natural' hair product has over 20 ingredients(most of which i can't pronouce) while the grease has only 9(petrolatum,mineral oil, castor oil, lanolin, wheat germ oil, vitamin a & b,fragrance and colour)
Girl yes
I use water, pink lotion, and blue magic. Hair has been growing like crazy! Stopped using gel. I grease my edges and wrap my hair at night, fine hair lay all day.
Annette Flowers OMG me tooo
Annette Flowers This is a dumb question, but I haven’t used blue magic in sooo long.. how do you incorporate it into your natural hair routine?
What is pink lotion
What’s crazy is this is the EXACT formula my mom says my hair needed when I was a kid and my hair was tailbone length. I bought a new thing a grease and said forget all these products I’ve wasted so much money on!
My mom uses that on my hair too!! 😂
I believe there is a conspiracy in the natural hair community. I say this without apology.
I believe so too!
I grew up on those products and my hair grew. I got brain wash in using those expensive products. But I went back to old school my hair. You have to do what is best for your hair.
Yes ripping off your own folks with these okie dokie products. Lol 😂
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
There is a big conspiracy. The owners of Blue Magic are black as well. Hmm... makes you wonder 🤔
Lies I live in Jamaica and my hair is growing crazyyyyy with blue magic😘
Which one do you use?
Hey Waldia!! I never stopped using hair grease... And remember when everyone kept asking me what did I do to my hair to make it grow so fast?!?! Well after watching this video, it makes sense..lol. I always said I didn't do anything special, I just made sure my hair was greased, including my scalp, and kept it moving. Didn't bother my hair much, and it just started growing healthy. I don't know why people say not to grease the scalp... it's important to moisturize your scalp... it's like a plant. you water the roots, not the leaves. lol. That's the best analogy I can come up with...lol. Great video!!
Shervla Pompilus I like that analogy lol. But people use to ask me in school how I get my hair so long lol. I'll be like...."I wash it.....🤔" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
YEAP, your hair grew so fast!! I'm SOLD! LOL
Shervla Pompilus I still use mine
Shervla Pompilus how long does it take to see hair growth from it
I just hate the smell of grease, if they had some none smelling kind I'd use it .
This makes me wanna jump out of bed and grease my scalp right now lol 😩😂❤️
Hahahahahahah
😂😂
Yes
ikr!!!!!
Lol I did that 😂😂😂I pause the video and greased my scalp
I’ve been using it for a month and my hair grew a whole inch! Bye bye eco styler gel
WOW that's awesome!
Lol
Hi can you please tell me where I can buy hair Grease in what shop because it is the first time I hear from this and I love too used it please lm from Capetown
Johanna Vermeulen ...Walmart, Target(maybe), Sally’s Beauty Supply. I use Blue Magic, Dax 💯 Lanolin and Dax Pomade and Dax Tea Tree Butter.
Maddison Reid.
Girl, I still use Blue Magic. It really is magic for my daughter's 4b/c hair
Naijakinky77 yes!! And so inexpensive wow
Waldia Bynes Yes, it's so easy on the pockets
Same here. Too bad it took me 9 years to figure this out! Better late than never.
But your first ingredient was water from the spray bottle then you sealed it with the grease. Sounds like a great combo to me. Keep doing what works.
So maybe I need to go back home to stop all this breakage and hair loss I got going on!!😉😊🤞
I use it with water on my kids and my own hair. Sometimes taking it back to the basics is the best solution.
SunBakedWoman simplicity is the missing key 🔑 to go back and open the doors to freedom again for our hair.
When I was younger my mom just wet my hair applied Blue Magic, Dax & Royal Crown my hair was down to my butt long thick and curly
Soul Of Rarity -Royal Crown!! Yep I remember Royal Crown. My favorite was that fragrant hair grease called “3 Flowers” I think.
After this a whole bunch of us kinky curly hair sistahs are going to have hair down to our butt. Watch!!!!
Yes Dax worked
Yes, girl. My hair has been transitioning for about 6 months and it's been soooo dry. Natural oils and butters don't work for me. But when I tried THIS again, omg yes, it really does soften and moisturize. It works well for me, so I'm sticking with this.
All we had to do was use this cheap ish the whole time. And just f up pillows, headrests, and other people's couches 🤣😂
I'm licensed now for 17 years now and 3c texture and up can definitely take petroleum...it is thick on the scalp but u shampoo regularly so that wouldn't be a problem
Sneiko the Diva mind blown! Lol
Lol now everyone no longer using shampoo 😂😂😂
Sneiko the Diva I used to use petroleum jelly, but I always used to get bumps on my scalp, but I liked how thick it was. I stopped using it, because of the bumps, but I needed something heavier, because my hair wouldn't hold a curl. So, I melted down Blue Magic and Beeswax and then mixed them together, to have a thicker product, and I love it!
Used the blue magic indian hemp with water for my twist out. My hair was so defined and didn't poof up in this summer humidity. #basics
The oils butters milks (sounding like a recipe for cake) never have worked on my hair....I went back to my blue magic with indian hemp! Works like magic
It’s good for our hair! Cheap, simple, and healthy. I get tired of paying for expensive butters and creams.
I've never had a problem with it. Water and grease, been using it for 50+ years. Great for laid edges, slick ponys/puffs, sealing ends.
Southermkinks do you mix it with water and put OK n your hair?
Exactly. Some naturals be buggin. And these natural hair companies just want our money.
I just think we need to go back to old School hair styling. where we find what works for us and just do that
Luella Springs we've complicated our hair routines so much and I'm now learning that it doesn't have to be this way. Thanks for sharing!
Kay's Ways yesssss 🙌🏾
Kay's Ways YES!!! Sometimes we break what's been wording for decades.
Same for my household. my son keeps it and I use it to grease my scalp. 😍
Kay's Ways Back to basics... I try new things but when my hair becomes damaged, I always go back to what mama used on my hair as a child.
I'm about to go to hair grease 😊😊😊
Yes that's the white kind..the coconut kind. I love Blue Magic
Love it 👍☺️
Water is moisturizer and grease is a seals the water to the hair.
My mom didn't knew the word seal.
@@floydcooman4631 🤣🤣🤣you guys are funny.
Amen tracey x
It works....Africans have used this for years and it's great when you braid hair and hair grows! My favourite pomade is Dax...since childhood...no regrets!!
I think Dax is great for women with super tick hair who are trying to makes it soft enough to manage with combs instead of fingers. I used it, but my had gotten too soft, it started to break.. But good product for 4c
Me too!!! I went back to it recently and my hair is thriving. I feel like with the continuation of hair grease BY December my hair is going to grow and break less.
*Hair grease is fine as it serves the same purpose as the other grease we call oils we use on our hair to seal in moisture.*
When I was young my mom used Royal Crown on our hair.
*We are not doing anything new as there is nothing new under the sun.*
It is nothing but a mind game that hair grease is bad planted by incorrect marketing subliminal messages that someone started because they got into the holistic, organic propaganda.
Sograteful 2012 😄Oh goodness the empty Jheri curls moisturizing bottles did double duty. Heck yeahh!
Beaute' Naturelle you already know lol no shame in our game. 😄
I had to stop letting these UA-cam videos tell me what was right and wrong, and start paying attention to what MY hair actually liked.
naturally_n3sha yes cuz I just started using silicon mix and Indian hemp grease to lock it in works
Naturally_Nesha ..smart girl because our hair types are different
It worksssss girls yessss, it seals in moisture like no other oil can! It softens the hair leaving it manageable. It doesn't cost much. I'm glad you spoke out about this , oils don't work for me. Only for treatments.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
Let me tell you I stand by #bluemagic. Their grease makes my hair soft and manageable. Just a little goes a long way. Those big jars last me like at once 3 months!😀
Yeap!
Exactly 💯 a little goes a long way 🎉
It's not that it isn't healthy. Many youtubers use moisturizing shampoos on their hair. Moisturising shampoos cannot get rid of petroleum, you need to clarify-- strip the hair. If you have no issue using stripping shampoos, then using petroleum isn't a problem.
Thanks!
Beautydivine interesting, never thought of that. I do use grease in the winter
Thank you for that tip. I use hair grease and I will start using regular shampoo on wash days
Beautydivine Agreed. I use the olive oil moisturing shampoo which also acts as clariying shampoo. Works a dream.
I've enjoyed reading all the comments. It sounds like everyone's mama used this and it works. I think sometimes companies put out so many new products that they overshadow things that really work. I enjoyed your video and all the ladies that responded to your video.
Your makeup is gorgeous.
What conditioner...thanks
My hair was so long as a child. I don't care I'm going back to the same grease, the same shampoo and the same conditioner I used as a child.
Blessing, how is it working out for you so far?
No one ever replies to these
As a teenager I wash my hair with Suave shampoo and conditioner. Blue magic blue or green hair grease had the curly natural Afro in the style you are wearing now and that was in the 70s. I still use suave products and the coconut hair grease, its the only product that keep my hair soft and relieve my dry itchy scalp. My mother's hair is a different texture naturally curly and she always used ultra sheen and they still sale it at walmart.
scorieshair it’s going alright my hairs growing well :)
VO5 baby!!! Remember that??
Yess this is sooo true like the saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it. I dont see ppl use grease much anymore we need to get back to what we use to do for real. I cant remember the last time I saw or used blue magic lol
Lika Way Girl go get you some!! Lmao it works!
Lika Way I agree.
Oh boy! Shea moisture ,As I Am, and Cantu are gonna be pissed! They betta make some GREASE!
Karen Grice-Ragin They'll charge 20 bucks for it.
Stacey ...lol right!
lol
Cream of nature has grease smells really good and gives the hair good shine.
@@FBAStacey , lol they would probably merge with the petroleum company to get the natural hair communities coins.
I had beautiful thick curls growing up and all I used was water and DAX. Since I started with the all natural. No sulfates, parabens etc. I have had so much issues with my hair.
Same omg
TheLady2085 ...yeah dax was the grease then
Dax still is the bomb . Com
CyD2 I bought this before but it itch whenever I use it so I stop
@@ademiprincesshk I have since changed my whole mindset about the use of hair grease. It may have some use on certain styles maybe some kids styles but not for curl definition and not if you are not going to properly wash your hair on a weekly basis. I have actually NOT used extra oils, grease, butters on my hair since March 2020 and my hair is super hydrated and curls stay defined wash day to wash day.
I am 18 My Mom applied it to my scalp ,and hair. My hair has been thick, long, and strong, all 18 years never had a problem. Still don't.
Thank you for sharing am going BACK to BASICS. My hair is 3c/4a & good old Blue Magic works for me. I refuse to waste anymore £ on products I have seen on utube. (WE are been programmed to spend more £ unnecessarily) Blessings from England.
NubianMax uk thanks so much and I totally agree with you! Back to basics!
Where do you buy your blue magic from???
dalu ogbuefi pax cosmetics
It’s a heaven 💕
Yes yes yes, I couldn't understand why my hair stayed dry and would break. I went back old school and my hair is super happy.
Yes!
East Indian women are known for their long thick hair.
i love amla oil. I sometimes even use it on extremely dry skin. (in moderation) And it works.
Yep that's all my mother used on my sister's and I, the stuff is amazing
now here's a thought. There are some that advise to dab a touch of vaseline on their eye lashes to help it to grow. And they do grow thicker.
Vaseline is made from petroleum as does mineral oil.
Wow!!! Facts!!!
I spent too much 💲& time on all these oils. Dry hair still. Good ole grease. My hair is 4ab , my daughter 4c . We have happy hair with less breakage
My black dermatologist speaks against the use of petroleum jelly because it is believed to interfere with the endocrine system functioning contributing to many health issues such as cancers. My question to him was, 'Why do they still use petroleum jelly in hospitals?'
Whoa I've never heard about the health risks. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm and that was a great question to ask him! LOL wow
Lakitha Goss What did he say?
Naturally Fee right I was thinking the same thing lol
Lakitha Goss Haha nice comeback! Some of these so called "licensed" physicians don't know what the hell their talking about. Ive never heard of petroleum having disastrous health risk- ever. I'll gladly use grease, it works, and there's plenty of proof of it doing so.
He could not answer?
It's crazy how the " natural hair community " has told people not to use hair grease because it clogs your hair but when we were younger and it grew so long but it's such a bad thing now I don't get it either 😐
Blasian Doll ...so true
I didn’t get that either until I was enlightened the Natural Hair Community day we shouldn’t do they can push their products and we stupidly buy into it spending massive amounts of money when the cheap old school products work...I say we get back to our roots I started using Blue Magic and Natures Blessings in my 2 daughters hair and it does wonders I couple that with one of the blue magic leave ins and bam it’s a Slam dunk !!! Team Hair Grease
This is the same community that doesn’t shampoo their hair 😂 no wonder it clogs up their hair
Because they are lying
@@mdlstsjones My mom said the same thing. When we use to live in Jamaica, it was Blue Magic and Vaseline for the scalp.
PREACH!!!
Coca Cola? Awww man that's crazy!
LoveLife&Laugherwiththeguynes 💯💯💯💯 boo. Back to the basics
Lol
I have 4a hair. Before I got a relaxer my granny use to use blue magic on my hair, and my hair was mid back length and very thick. I miss those days. Sitting in my little chair getting my hair done. 😊😊😊😄😄😄
Renee Brown Awww so nostalgic
blue magic is it! don't believe the hype. everybody is trying to capitalize on the natural hair market.
WOWWW lol. It works!
This is an epiphany. My hair was long and midway down my back as a child. . We used Royal Crown or Vaseline. Now my hair is all dried out and does not retain length even though it grows consistently. All the perms and products have stripped out the moisture. Thanks you so much.
Blue magic had your hair down yo back... I need to go back because society just turned mevaway from the magic of blue magic.
I used that grease while growing up including the green one, we also used shampoo with silicone and our hair grew! I like to keep it simple!
Naturally Speaking Karen Yes the green one 😂😂😂 me too
I have found that my hair grew longer, stronger, and quicker when I kept my routine simple!
Yeah cause water is the number 1 moisturizer. Then the grease will help from breakage.
Anybody else still using Blue Magic in 2020
THISWORLDIS CRAZY I’m buying some tomorrow
Just went back. Bye bye Shea Moisture & Cantu 👋🏾
Me, I love blue magic
I’m using Dax and Sulfur 8. My hair feels so much healthier.
The key is not to use too much. But I use pure petroleum jelly aka vaseline. No chemical additive, no color. Works for me over 30 years.
My mom use to use this on my hair religiously. I need to buy some of this because my hair is dry and I don't wash until next Saturday night. Thank you for refreshing my memory. This worked good on my hair back in the day.
yes ma'am
for real girl.
AfricanExport did some bomb twistouts with water and grease. Her hair looked oh so bomb!
AseaMae
AseaMae . Yep. A couple of years ago. I remember. Her hair looked gorgeous
Thanks for reminding me about this! I've been using this for 2 weeks and my hair is thicker and soft ! I threw out all my "natural" stuff. My pockets definitely thanks you❤️❤️❤️
Woohooooooooooooooooooooooo! Yes! That's what I like to hear lol. Thank you.
How and how often do you apply the grease?
I have thin, medium porosity, type 3 hair and this does work! It elongates my hair and keeps moisture in, even in the humid environment I live in. I used Blue Magic Shea Moisture. You can put grease on your scalp, just make sure it's wet first
i love the smell of blue magic and im white
My mother used Vaseline everyday on my hair and I've always had healthy, waist length hair. I use my husband's Blue Magic when I run out of Shea butter and have no issues.
Rachel Snoddy my 96 year old client uses Vaseline head full of hair and it grows so face lol
Amani Ta How can I get African Vaseline? I live in the West Indies. Any web sites?
Rachel Snoddy does the grease Work One fine/Thin Natural hair?
I say use what works. Being natural is too complicated. I had the best hair NOT using "natural" products.
MsDymeOHYES Why using shea butter is complicated? It's a basic products, basically a plant.
Wow thanks for sharing!
Alison Zunguze how often do you blow dry and what is your hair texture?
I LIVE for Blue Magic. It keeps mine moisturized and I ALWAYS get compliments on how soft and shiny my hair is. Don't sleep on the "Magic". Lol
Y'know before I started applying grease in my hair my hair was looking RUFF and I didn't know why, so I started thinking about what my grandmother used to use on my head which was just grease and water so i started using that in me head and BABY!! you don't know how much my hair thanked me for that!! I get compliments about my hair and people always ask me what i do to it, and when i say i use grease they're usually shocked because of the hogwash people said about ig online. it is so much softer and at first, I only applied it on my hair only but i put it in my scalp too
amysocool7 ...yes and also a lot of the greases now is much lighter on the hair and works well...
Love it.
The same old stuff Jesus walked on! I'm hollering. This comment was too real! 😂
Right! My hair don't like the Shea Moisture products. It loves Blue Magic!
Same maria do you just use water and blue magic? And do you use on your edges and scalp?
K.O. Yoss What type of shampoo would you recommend?
I use a Giovanni shampoo. It clarifies and doesn't dry your hair out. Any shampoo is fine, any shampoo that clarifies. :)
my 15 year old daughter says grease is the best thing for her natural curls...yes out of all her products
I use grease even for my twistout. And they shine and stay moisturize for days. Idc what anyone says, I will continue to use it Bcz IT WORKS FOR ME! Lol
Jan 2,2020 I’m back to grease lol
I haven't use blue magic in a while but I still use grease to this day I use the Softee coconut grease and I really like it but I still love you Blue Magic I buy the green how about whatever color that long as my hair ain't dry and I still use old fashioned pressing comb that's just me I'm old-fashioned I'm only 39 but I'm still old-fashioned my grandma used to press and curl my hair with the pink rollers and and blue magic blue or green and I'm still using it to this day
It works! :)
I have the pink hair rollers in my hair now and a scarf. By the hair cap and rollers from the Dollar Tree store.
I use it on my scalp. My hair is softer. My scalp feels really good and my hair is flourishing!
Finally😍
I put that in my scalp and it really grows your hair when I first did my big chop my hair was really short so I use blue magic 2-3months later my hair is almost the same length it use to be but healthier
shontavia thegreat What's your hair type? I'm like a 4B but was always told not to put grease on my scalp, and is that your hair in ur profile?
@@latishal.8142 im 4b and all i use is blue magic , it works wonders!!!
Do you use any shampoos/conditioners? what about blue magics tea tree oil?
You need to have a tutorial styling with hair grease!!!
Rebecca Jean ooooo good idea!! Will work on it
I went back to mane and tail shampoo and conditioner, spray aloe juice and the blue magic organics grease and havent looked back in a year. My hair & girls hair love it.
Love your makeup❤
I was getting so frustrated with my hair being so dry 😔Definitely going back to old ways & using grease again! Thanks for the video
Thank you I remember using grease when I was younger IDK why I stopped. Started back using it on myself and my family's hair. I brought back my pink lotion. Everyone's hair is thriving. I'm a just go back to some of the basics.
