    Those quads are so big you should file them as dependents on your tax returns

    Had a hip issue. Went to the doc, said it was synovial cap inflammation, take ibuprofen and rest. Four weeks of zero lifting involving the hips and the issue was still there. Went to a sports physio and he told me to squat above parallel and charged me $200 for the pleasure. Read this book, did the two stretches, was the closest to magic I ever felt in my life. 100% recommend to anyone who's touched a barbell.

    Was very disappointed when I first opened this book. I thought it was just supposed to be a menu of what sarms to take for various issues.
    1/5 stars.

      @Athletics fan to construct a menu of what measures or interventions to take for various issues is a difficult thing to construct in a book. As a physical therapist like myself and Dr. Aaron Horshcig we really need to find the issue at hand prior to suggesting the correct course of action. This book does a great job at giving the general population knowledge to start diagnosing their movement restrictions by themselves. It's an intense read for those that are not interested in diagnostics and solving the problems by themselves. To suggest another book that has a great mobility section is "Ready to Run by Kelly Starrett" (he wrote a section at the beginning of Rebuilding Milo). It's geared towards runners, but has a wonderful mobility section with a sample 28 day mobility plan for active individuals. He discusses catering that mobility plan to your problems throughout the book. It all comes down to diagnostics though. Just like in this video - assess movements, see the restrictions, then correct the restrictions once you know what they are. It was a well constructed video!

    Gonna get this book based on your review. This is good stuff for those of us who wanna squat for life.

    Idk if you cared here, but the curious thing was that the more painful knee's single leg squat was way more stable. I noticed the same with my better leg, it seemed weaker and less stable. Until I did sideplanks, single arm holds for grip (worked hip stabilizers and core) and single leg rdl (with back and leg in one line and foot straight). Oh and calf raises, I had much worse dorsiflexion in the worse leg's ankle.
    The pulling leg sideways is one of my favourites and most hated stretches at the same time (if you don't count the kneeling quad stretch against wall), I got it in some "light quick yoga to feel relaxed before bed" video and it is so painful indeed, the glutes are so tight after every workout.
    The book seems fantastic.

    I'm curious if any of your mobility issues could be due to asymmetrical bone or joint formation/structural causes. In that case, trying to force extra mobility from something like that could make matters worse, no? Is this something you've considered? Is there any way to diagnose something like that without imaging?

    What's the difference between this book and the squat bible? Is it just more focused on injuries?

    • @audiewalters8275
      @audiewalters8275 3 роки тому +2

      Exactly that. I have both books and the Bible is more of an in depth look at squatting specifically, while Milo is about assessing injuries and how to go about fixing them
