Fair play to all those singing though this version annoys me. Amhrán na bhFiann is a marching song. I wish the sporting organisations would stop turning it into a ballad and play with a band at the proper tempo.
I agree. I'm a big fan of Imelda May but she did one of the worst renditions at a Conor McGregor fight some years ago when she sang it like a soul song. I'm not a fan of having soloists anyway. It should be sung by the crowd. Having soloists is an American thing. I assume it is because the US anthem is quite difficult to sing because it has both very high and very low notes.
@@johnkilcullen No it happens at intercounty GAA aswell its not solely an american thing.Its not done for all ireland finals but its not unusual at provincial gronds

Agreed this has always annoyed me. Should be sang in a similar way that Celtic FC fans sing the English version
