The only thing that makes this worth its price is that someone is willing to pay it.

what is the merit here? brush an aluminum front? integrate an Hypex class D amplifier into a chassis? buy a remote control application and integrate it into a generic display with graphics? does that make it so expensive? where is the advantage ?

It's a great amp...bass is dry and taught...good vocals but the upper part of the freq spectrum is a bit harsh in this video.
Now it could be the speakers but I've heard them myself a couple of times and they sound better than this. I think it's the Class D amp. Lots of variables though so I could be wrong.
Anyway if you compare this track with your other videos you'll see the highs are not as smooth.

SpaghettiKillah please tell me how exactly do you hear bass or any frequency spectrum recorded through unknown mic on with unknown compression later played on your laptop speakers ?

That is such a ignorant question that I shouldn't even answer but anyway....
      1. I play this video through my hi-fi system...that is a Oppo Bdp-105 player...CA amp.....Bowers & Wilkins CM5 s2 speakers and B&W subwoofer. But you went ahead assuming i'm listening through a laptop because YOU do so everyone's gotta do the same right? That's a decent FULL-RANGE 5k € hi-fi system that will show the differences even between 192kbs mp3 files on youtube.
      2. these videos are recorded through a professional microphone so they're are high quality mp3 files that manage to capture the acoustics of the room and the system IF you listen to them through a serious hi-fi system rather than your LAPTOP.
High quality mp3's like these videos (levels adjusted) can and are better than some over-produced cd's with limited dynamic range (see loudness war).
      3. since he uses the same song on most of the demo videos you can actually easily hear the differences between systems/room acoustics even on a pair of decent headphones. Try it for yourself.....open two tabs with different videos from AVshowreports playing this same song...

SpaghettiKillah I do agree with your comments with the top end. My suspicion is either the CD recording itself or the speakers, but you said you have heard better from these speakers. Personally, I haven't auditioned the Dameon before, but I have definitely heard better sound from a Jeff Rowland even dating back to the 501 mono blocks. At the time, I heard it through a pair of MBLs and it was absolutely spectacular, so open with fantastic sound-staging. I would like to hear the Dameon with another pair of speakers and with another CD too perhaps.

I didn't hear the depth and power in the bass. Sibilance seemed sharp. Well, maybe shit`s the microphone of the smartphone(?)...)

Class D not my kind of taste, sounds very clinical electronic missing out on pure natural analogue quality for sure

It makes good business sense to make. Its cheap, you don't have to be innovative, can drive anything. Who cares it sounds like crap.
