I have an Epiphone ES175 Premium, in terms of tone and playability it is 99.9% equivalent of the Gibson at a price far lower. Made in Korea these are sadly no longer in production. I was hoping they’d do a 335 Premium but it never happened.
My current favourite is the 60s standard lp. I went in to a store to goal set and my wife actually gave me the go ahead to pull the trigger on the gibson if I wanted...but playing back to back I seriously couldn't justify the price hike. The 60s epiphone as you said stands on its own really really well.
Epiphone has REALLY stepped up their game!!! I've spent time with all the new models and not a bad one in the bunch! As far as electric guitars, I would NEVER buy a Gibson when Epiphone matches and even in some instances BEATS Gibson's build quality.
Yeah Um not for me. My epi looks very nice but not even close to my studio and especially my custom. Fret sprout will slice your hand. Maybe I got a bad one but of the 3 I’ve had they don’t come close to any of my Gibsons. I would like to try the profacy series though.
@@wammons007nteresting ive had an epi 50s for over 3 years and not even a slight issue with frets or anything else to that point. Sorry forgot to mention my guitar which was made over 10 years ago has the same specs as yours except the finish is polyurethane while yours is got like that almost matte/ satin finish on it, otherwise theyre completely identical
Recently bought the Sheraton Pro II, it's brilliant. The pickups in split coil mode are also very usable as they are nice sounding. It's so so comfortable to play, something about the neck is different to all my other guitars and for me, I can play it for hours without feeling strained. I had to set it up to my taste as the string height from the store was too high.
Epiphone Les Paul Modern. Great frets to start with - in an ebony fingerboard - Asymmetrical mahogany neck - Recessed/contoured heel - Probucker pickups - Weight relieved body - Solid maple top (over 1/2 inch thick) - Locking tuners - GraphTech NuBone nut - Coil splitting and phase. Super price point - great bang-for-the-buck!
Shane, I think I started following your channel way back in 2010 or something when you used to rock that Fender Blues Jr. I bought the goldtop 50s Les Paul online, sight unseen, based primarily on your review of it. And I have to tell you after playing it for the past month, I am absolutely thrilled with it. Thanks a lot, mate!
Epiphone has really improved their lineup and quality of guitars! Again my only complaint is that there needs to be more left handed models added like the Les Paul and SG Specials. Other than that, they offer great value and awesome playability for the masses! Great list Shane! Cheers!🎸🎸🎸
I have a 2007 Epi Sheraton II, a 2008 Broadway, a 2012 Swingster, and a 2021 LP Special TV Yellow. Have been playing Epiphone electric and acoustic guitars for 15+ years. Great deals.
My favorite Epiphone is the 59 Les Paul Standard, not only is it a fantastic guitar with actual Gibson pickups, but it also comes with a case. It's dreamy man.
There aren't many options for lefties out there but I found a lightly used translucent red 2013 Epiphone SG pro a few years ago and it's badass. After I did a setup adjusting the action and pickup heights, as well as a little fret polishing, I can't imagine there's a sweeter guitar for the money.
I have the 60 standard in ice tea and its a killer guitar. plays beautifully and sounds amazing. I would also like to say on the 50/60 the cts pots are a very welcome addition as they would be one of the things most people swap out on an epiphone.
Great review, and 100% spot on! I picked up an Epi Les Paul Custom in Silverburst a couple months ago...plays and sounds excellent. Couldn't justify an extra $4,000 for the Gibson at this time. Not disappointed with the Epi!
My Epiphone SG Modern is still my favourite, plays and sounds great has the Probuckers, locking tuners, coil split and phase shift. Trans-black fade, chrome hardware, ebony fretboard and trapezoid inlays means it also looks stunning.
Whew....! I was kinda worried because I was under the impression you started out with the best Epiphone ( LP 60's Model). I was happily relieved when you ended with the 50's LP Model when you announced it as your favorite, then I had realized it was 5,4,3,2, and 1 lol..! I happen to have this Epiphone 50's model Lp and I love it because the Neck is a bit chunky, but feels great. This one sounds better than my Cherry stain LPJ by Gibson which is a full body LP without the Pickguard, and small cosmetic features of the standard LP's by gibson. I love that they went back to the more traditional headstock which resembles Gibson's own tather than the older uglier ones they had. I am in the market for a new Epiphone, and while I was kinda looking into the 60's LP because I heard it has hotter pickups, I didn't know until this video that it features a thinner neck which my smaller hands might like (I'm more a Stratocaster player myself) but also am really interested in the new SG as I've never owned or played one. I might go with the SG, maybe in the Cherry, but the white ones looks really good too. Great video, and I love the fact you're a fellow Lefty! Cheers!
I purchased the 50s standard after watching your previous review. Love it 👍👍👀🎸 I own two other Epiphones. Joe Bonamassa Firebird and a Les Paul with Floyd Rose and Jared Nicholes Les Paul w/P90 Epiphone never disappoints. Right out the bow great. Thanks Shane
I own several Epiphone's....a Modern....a Classic....a Traditional Pro IV....AND the Tommy Thayer Blue Sparkle....with a Wildkat coming soon!!...love each and every one them!!
Great list...! Some of the ones you have I'm seriously looking into acquiring, the Prophecy Series in particular...V and LP. Two Epi's that are deserving to be on this list...the Sheraton II and the 59' Les Paul Standard. I have both of these, and they are just in a different class. The Sheraton II, is probably closer to the Gibson ES-355, with its added detail, craftsmanship, finish and over all playability and comfort, it is one of those guitars that can do it all and is almost impossible to put down. The second, the 59' Standard LP, is the guitar that can make me put down the Sheraton for awile. While it has all of the classic traits, accurate neck profile and weight...its the electronics that set it apart. She is hand wired with Gibson Burstbuckers, CTS pots, Mallory capacitors and Switchcraft switching, there is nothing to upgrade here with the possible exception of hardware down the road. The tone of this guitar is amazing...!! It will be interesting to see how Epiphones Signature Series guitars will stack up for this year. The Emily Wolf Sheraton is a joy to play. We're already hearing good things about the Brendon Small Ghosthorse and the Jared James Custom LP. Down the road is the Epi version of BB King's Lucille to be released this fall, and we'll see if Gibson pulls the trigger in the Alex Lifeson Signature LP. All in all...an excellent year for Epiphone..!!
After getting an Epiphone ES-335 pro, I have become a big fan of their guitars. I replaced the tuners and nut and set it up, and it plays and sounds amazing. I have several "more expensive" guitars, but this one is my favorite. Watching this dreaming about the next Epi I'm going to get. Cheers
YABBA-DABBA-DABBA-DABBA-DOO! ABSOLUTELY 100% !!!! Gibson Has Redeemed Itself!!! I Bought The Epiphone Goldtop Les Paul Standard A Month Ago As A Early Birthday Present To Myself & I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!!!! Everything Shane Said Is True (At Least About My Guitar). The Craftsmanship, The Feel, The Playability, The Sound... ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!! WELL DONE, GIBSON/EPIPHONE!!! This Guitar Brought Me Full Circle In My Musical Life Because The High School Guitar Legend Of My Youth Had One (40 Years Ago, Real Gibson) That All The Noobs Were Drooling Over. Back Then, I Found It Difficult To Play A Gibson (A Friend Had A Cherry Burst Copy He Let Me Borrow For A While) Due To The Body Shape. I Guess I Just Had To Grow Into It (After Being A Stratocaster Man All My Life) Because I TOTALLY LOVE My Goldtop & Feel Complete Now. Plus, I Have An Old Version Epiphone Dot That Is EQUALLY PHENOMENAL!!!!!😁
I own the same guitars you do. In the Joe Bonamassa one I didn’t change a thing. The 61’ Epiphone Les Paul SG I changed to hand-wired humbuckers. With the change is the SG I kill many Gibson Les Pauls that are $3000 plus with the pickups. No lie.
Just bought a Epiphone Les Paul standard 60s. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I also have a Gibson standard 60s Les Paul and while it’s a great guitar, the Epiphone really isn’t that far off. Love the Epi, I have guitars that cost alot more and aren’t nearly as good.
I bought a epiphone Les Paul standard plus top pro like two years and a half ago, and the ProBuckers sound really nice, it’s been my main guitar since I bought it, no regret and I recommend it a lot
Great review, thank you for posting this. Have you ever tried the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Inspired by Gibson series? Can you do a review of it?
I own a P90 Epiphone 'Inspired By Gibson' SG, cost me $749 NZD. It's incredible. Honestly, it's so incredibly close to the real thing. The frets just needed a dress and the tuning machines upgraded. I may switch the pickups out, but at the moment I'm loving the stock Epi ones !
Hi Shane, Have you played the Epiphone ES 339 made from 2020 to 2022? They're part of the "Inspired by Gibson" line. I played one in a local music store and liked it a lot. I came back the next day after thinking it over and bought it. Epiphone has changed the headstock to the smaller 1960s style and upgraded the tuning machines, pickups, control pots, wiring, bridge and stop bar tailpiece and bridge. It looks like a 335 but it's smaller and well balanced and comfortable to play.
Great video Shane. I love the guitars that Epiphone released in the last few years. I've seen some amazing Les Pauls but that headstock is just horrendous (yeah, yeah it's all about the sound) 😀 I really like the Explorer that you have in this video but my favorite Epiphone is the Richie Faulkner Flying V, which you can't find anywhere. They also released two great Joe Bonamassa models a Flying V and a Firebird, also not available 😀
I completely agree on the Epiphone 50s standard, what a great guitar! I just switched the pickups to SD Phat-Cats, installed a compensated nut and man this guitar is awesome! I was also considering the LP special but I don't really like the color...
I have a: - Epiphone Noel Gallagher Supernova Ltd edition (which is really a customised Sheraton) 2003 - Epiphone Vintage Sunburst Casino 2020 - Epiphone Les Paul Standard 2006 I really want to get that new Epiphone Les Paul 59’ Gibson custom shop limited edition 2020 in Dark Cherry Burst. Also want one of those Prophecy SGs. I do have a Squier Strat and a 2 Yamaha guitars. But my pride and joy are my Epiphones. They make me want to pick them up and play them. Which every great instrument should do. Great quality and value too, since I can’t fork out $4000 plus on a Gibson or whatever. But I’m loving my Casino at the moment since it’s my latest purchase.
The 59’ Epi Les Paul should be on the list and be #1 on the list. Even though it’s a higher end Epiphone at $799 it comes with its hardcase. I love the Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul also but I had to buy a hardcase separately. To me it is still a great guitar at $899, but you have to buy a case. The 59’ is the better value.
I got the 2020 Epiphone Explorer and its a solid 10/10. They opted for something more vintage spec so it comes with Alnico 2 pickups and a slim taper neck. It can do anything from blues to Metal to rock. Really good choice if you like the "designer" guitar shapes, but not the usual hot pickups they tend to come with. Only available in Ebony though.
I got 2020 Epi Les Paul Custom in alpine white...it's an amazing guitar, especially for the price point...the ebony fretboard is my favorite part of it...it nows plays second fiddle though to a new Gibson 60s Les Paul in unburst, which does have slightly hotter pickups, both great guitars.
Really love Epiphones, I’ve had a 91 birdseye Les Paul for years I replaced the tone circuit and pick ups with Gibson 57s, I love my SG pro, TV yellow Les Paul Jr with P90s, 339 pro, and my George Thorogood Signature. I also have a Les Paul Jr single cut with Gibson guts and a p-90. Epiphone Hummingbird pro
I have the 58 flying v reissue and it's a great guitar for the price, I didn't care for the bridge pickup so I swapped it out for a bill lawrence usa l500xl which really makes the guitar shine. The neck pickup is very versatile and clean which I like. The guitar has tons of sustain and bite I definitely recommend anyone to check them out
I have two of these, the 50's Les Paul and an Extura Prophesy, and the Les Paul in particular is the best LP I've played. The Inspired by Gibson Firebird is also god-tier.
Just got an Epiphone Flying V. Totally beautiful. The price range for a Gibson and an Epiphone really makes a huge difference. An Epiphone J200 acoustic and a Gibson J200 costs nearly $9000.00 and the Epiphone sounds damned excellent and your saving nearly $9 k .
Well, some of those sound weird because the guy is holding it upside down lol I used to own 2 Gibson LPs. Then, in 94 my kids bought me an Epi LP (Korean)for Father’s Day. I’ve been a session player for 4 decades, and they wanted me to have something not so valuable laying around the house to play with. It played SO much better than the gibsons. I put Duncan PAFs in it, switchcraft pots and switch, and a set of NOS ‘58 caps in it. I now guard this Epi with my life. It’s my go to. Sold the gibsons, and this ‘cheap’ Epi now lives with all of my other guitars. Gimme an Epi any day. Just picked up a used custom pro LP in koa today. We’ll see how she does.
I recently bought my daughter the Epiphone SG standard and after playing if for I bit I was blown away by it, I really can't say it's any worse than my Gibson SG. The inspired by Gibson line from Epiphone is fantastic.
I got an Epiphone 12 string acoustic a few years ago and it is just fine. Sounds great, plays great. I took some of the pieces of cardboard out from under the saddle to lower the action and now the action is perfect. Only knocks are that I had to have a pick up installed and the pegs are kind of cheap.
Not all of them, you see sometimes people find a few rare exceptions here and there, the beginning of 1960 i think they still had not made the change so a guitar launched in the early 1960s might have had the standard kluson tuners, where as a guitar in late 1960 might have come out with grover tuners because they made the change halfway through the year, its the same as a precision bass, (sorry if i get the info wrong its been more then 5 years) 1955 i believe was the year they added a belly cut to the famous "telecaster" bass but it wasnt much later until late 1955 that they implemented the body contours, same with the big change that came in a 1958 fender precision bass, they change it to the famous P bass style pickup we all know and love today but some guitars in 1958 still have the old look is just that somewhere in 1958 they changed to the other version and thats how that happens
@@ernestochang1744 Thanks for the history lesson but we were discussing about the Epi Inspired by Gibson lineup. Perhaps for some demographics Epi made some one-offs like the one in the vid.
I'm an Epiphone fan and have quite a few. I think my favorite has to be my Riviera P93 goldtop. Take off the metal covers and the P90s are great. Three P90s = endless fun. In a close second would be my Sheraton. I do believe Epiphone has stepped up its game and is making some nice guitars.
Sg standard, I love it because of the skinny fretboard, the great sound quality, the acess to frets and because of its look, and also the fact that it’s the guitar used by angus young (he used a Gibson but whatever)
I recently bought an inspired by Gibson Epiphone es335. I have to say it surprised me on the quality, the price and of course the sound. In pelthem blue. I do my own setups. The action is unbelievably low with no fret buzz. I'll keep it forever. What would you rather have? A made in the U.S. Gibson Tribute. Currently, the least expensive L.P., but it's the real deal or the Epiphone 60s re-issue?
Since I have the TV yellow special, that’s my favorite Epiphone, but if I wanted any of the other ones I would go with the 50s LP because it is very true to the original ones made by Gibson. Sure, poly not nitro finish, but any other comparison is nit picking IMO. I dunno about anyone else, but I don’t have 4 grand to spend on the Gibson. Great reviews Shane.
Epiphone is just as much as Gibson as a Gibson. Nitro is something that puts me off Gibson not just for the environmental concerns but also because it's inferior to poly in the sense that continually degrading yellows and looks nasty after few years even when taken care of. That said it dose look cool on some finishes like the yellowing amber of binding on Les Paul custom set a beautiful contrast against back beauty.
Epi Casino Elitist. Just magic. So well built (flawless), plays and sounds so good, with American metal-covered dog-ear P-90s, hardware, and electronics. I did exchange the bridge for a '59 TOM 'cause I had one in my parts box and it slipped right onto the posts, all else is stock. It's made in the Terada factory in Japan, known since 1912 for quality guitar and instrument manufacturing. This is also where many Gretsches are made. This Casino is one of my best guitars. You really don't need to peel for a more expensive guitar. The new Epiphones are great.
I owned 335 by Epiphone in the year of 2013 with PAF's and that instrument never lied at rehearsal or even the gigs. Had to sale due to financial but it was worth the money I invested. Only thing I ever did was tighten the input back and readjust strings for my playing. For quality, just worth ever cent I spent on that Red Epiphone bought at Tarpley's in Amarillio, Texas. Sorry those pickups were P90's. Not putting down Gibspn, which now own 1991 Led Paul model by Gibson. Epiphone and Gibson are both totally awesome instruments.
I have Epiphone Les Paul standard and it's one of my favorite guitars I've ever had. I like it significantly more than a Gibson SG faded special I had. After 20+ yrs of playing I have had tons of guitars. I have about 6 good guitars and bunch of others and my epi LP standard is my favorite
Picked up a 50s LP in Goldtop this week and love it. Amazing guitar. Had thought about getting a Gibson LP 50s but I think I can other ways to spend that additional $2K (and already own 2 Gibson LPs, a 2017 Standard and a 2020 Studio). They are having some downtime lately as I rock out on my new Epi LP 50s. Thx for this and the dedicated LP 50s review!
Great playing, really liked the reviews, and it's super refreshing to see a lefty killing it! You look like you're having a blast and that's the most important thing 🤘. I have a Blues Hawk and it screams. The p90s push my amp so well and I love pretty much any semi hollow guitar.
great video as always.. Epiphone has really has really stepped up the game with the inspired series... I bought the TV yellow special and the firebird and they both sound and play awesome.. The firebird has original spec pickups same as the Joe Bonamassa bird... Perfection...
To everybody wondering why the 59 limited edition standard isn't included in my opinion is the fact there is no left handed models made. Because that guitar is the top of the line epi.imo
Looking at the 59 limited edition standard, how do you know it is the 59 limited edition standard? Any markings on the guitar that indicate the specific model? Sorry, new to the Gibson world!
@@alphanumeric1529 the backplate had the inspired by Gibson statement saying that, and the fact it has 50's wiring, cts pots, switchcraft switch, and Gibson usa burstbucker 2&3 pickups in it. Also the back switch plate is a metallic commemorative plate.
Hi mate good to see Aussie reviews relevant to whats available in our stores just asking which do you think would be best for slide blues / blues rock cheers
I own the Epiphone 1960 tribute ( not the plus) but the original and it's hands down best Epiphone Les Paul I've ever played or heard it's my go to guitar after I've played my Gibson Les Pauls
I’ve got a ‘94 Epi LP. Korean made. It’s got the best neck ever for me. Put Duncan PAFs, switchcraft gear and NOS caps in it. Sold my 2 Gibson LPs because I never used them. It’s great fun when some nitwit says ‘you don’t even have a Gibson’. Yea, it’s fun blowing people away with a “cheap” guitar
Got an epiphone les Paul 50s gold top a few weeks back, absolutely love it, has a great feel and tone, and feels as legit as you'll get without actually getting the Gibson version!
i own an epi les paul special 2, emphasis on the 2! i got it for $99.99 + tax 6 years ago, have heavily modified it. love it! i also own an epi sg, with MAESTRO VIBROLA. so sweet! but one you didn’t mention, my favorite if i have one, an epi es-339 PRO (with splittable humbuckers in both positions. if i could have only one, that’d be the one!
Hands down the '59 L.P. reissue produced in conjunction w/the Gibson custom shop is the best Les Paul. Has Gibson pickups, CTS pots, Mallory capacitors, Switchcraft USA pickup selector switch & output jack plus '50's style hand wiring. $849 U.S. with an Epi brown hardshell case.
Heck ya dude! Interesting tip on the dot! Gonna check that one out! Would love to hear your review on the limited ‘59 epiphone if you can get your hands on one!
I own the 2020 Epiphone Black Beauty Les Paul and it’s a fantastic guitar. I also own the Joe Bonamassa Custom 3 pickup Black Beauty Les Paul as well. Fantastic guitars and both under $800. For the JB you get the hardcase too.
My 2020 classic is the best Epiphone I’ve owned so far. Cheaper than the standard models but it’s not a downgrade imo. The alnico classic pro pickups are great and I prefer them over the pro buckers.

I’ve had each and love my Epiphone Les Paul 50’s Standard so much. I would also add the Epiphone Casino, just love those and Epiphone.
Personally I think that the new Customs are 🔥
Just picked up a used custom pro in koa today for $300…. It’s very nice.
They truly are!!
@@williamsporing1500 Is that below market?
I own several Epiphone's....a Modern....a Classic....a Traditional Pro IV....AND the Tommy Thayer Blue Sparkle....with a Wildkat coming soon!!...love each and every one them!!
This channel always has great reviews. As a player, I always learn something about the instruments.
Thanks mate! :)
I agree ! Blues On....💙
Great list...!
It’s a great time to get into playing guitar these days, so many cool and high value products out there to choose from.
I have the Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Custom Black Beauty and it's fantastic. I also have the 61 Epi Sg also a great guitar Epi has raised it's game .
My bbb has become my number 1
I own the same guitars you do. In the Joe Bonamassa one I didn’t change a thing. The 61’ Epiphone Les Paul SG I changed to hand-wired humbuckers. With the change is the SG I kill many Gibson Les Pauls that are $3000 plus with the pickups. No lie.
Those faded p90 sgs tho. The Inverness green one is gorgeous in particular.
By far the Les Paul Classic. I have the Worn Ebony Finish 😍😍 IMO the pickups in that guitar (cheaper burstbuckers?) Are some of the absolute best.
Would have liked to see the epi 59 in there. That guitar sounds killer.
I’m shocked it’s not in here.
He said 50’s
@@tommilitello198 That’s not the same thing.
@@benallmark9671 I’m shocked it’s not there too. I question if this guy even has a clue.
I recently got a Epiphone Les Paul classic in purple really good to play
I bought a epiphone Les Paul standard plus top pro like two years and a half ago, and the ProBuckers sound really nice, it’s been my main guitar since I bought it, no regret and I recommend it a lot
Great review, thank you for posting this. Have you ever tried the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Inspired by Gibson series? Can you do a review of it?
I personally think it is the best Epiphone ever made!! I own one and its never leaving my arsenal!!
I have an Epiphone SG Muse. 2021. It’s very light and comfortable. I’ve left it stock. Excellent value
I have a:
- Epiphone Noel Gallagher Supernova Ltd edition (which is really a customised Sheraton) 2003
- Epiphone Vintage Sunburst Casino 2020
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard 2006
I really want to get that new Epiphone Les Paul 59’ Gibson custom shop limited edition 2020 in Dark Cherry Burst.
But I’m loving my Casino at the moment since it’s my latest purchase.
great video, of these the LP Special with p90s is my choice. Its also the cheapest.
Have you tried the ‘59 Epiphone Les Paul. I guarantee this would make your list! I have the dot 335 and TV Yellow as well...great guitars
I came to say the same thing! I have the new 2020 59' and its as close to a Gibson as I've played. Has Gibson pups too!
I just got a new Custom also in Alpine White. Great fit and finish. Sounds great.
Love my Epiphones. I have a Dot and a 90s era LP Studio. Just really solid guitars.
I love my T.V. Yellow Special!!
I own a Epiphone Dot 335 that’s pretty killer too!
Thanks, Shane. I just bought a Gibson ES-335 and Epiphone ES-335 Raspberry Figured. You are on point with your comparison.
I have the 58 flying v reissue and it's a great guitar for the price, I didn't care for the bridge pickup so I swapped it out for a bill lawrence usa l500xl which really makes the guitar shine. The neck pickup is very versatile and clean which I like. The guitar has tons of sustain and bite I definitely recommend anyone to check them out
As an epiphone 60s les Paul owner / player you won me as a subscriber straight away
I have a epiphone Les Paul standard, made in Indonesia 97, beautiful guitar, with a great sound
I have two of these, the 50's Les Paul and an Extura Prophesy, and the Les Paul in particular is the best LP I've played. The Inspired by Gibson Firebird is also god-tier.
I own a Casino Coupe. I am a Fender man, but wanted something with warmer vibe. Roll tone down 3 on bridge, roll volume down 3 on neck, works for me.
How about the epi lp 1959 ? I think you would love that and might even be the new top list 😉
I have the Special (#2) and I love everything about it, but my favorite Epiphone is my 2014 Les Paul Florentine. That thing absolutely sings.
Absolutely in love with my 50’s gold top! 💛💛💛
Well, some of those sound weird because the guy is holding it upside down lol
I used to own 2 Gibson LPs.
SG pro with coil splitting humbuckers, es339, Les Paul Special TV yellow, George Thorogood signature, Epiphone Himmingbird.
The 60s standard LP in the vid seems to have Kluson type machine heads. I thought they had Grover rotomatics. Great vid
Yes, you are right, maybe a QC issue?
Love my Epiphone LP Special. Every bit as nice as the Gibson version at a fraction of the price.
So where do you stand on the Casino (John Lennons favorite) and the Sheridan II. My favorite. Both are excellent guitars .
Epiphone ES339 Pro in Pelham Blue . . .Fantastic!
The modern and modern figured Les pauls and SGs really tick all the right boxes for me .
Thanks so much for this mate. Picked up my old guitars over the last few years and in the market for an LP. This is a massive help
I love my epiphones! I have a trad iv pro plus top Les Paul and a Tommy Thayer Les Paul and absolutely love them both!
Praying for Australia and all the awesome people there. Thanks for the great video
If you can get your hands on a Wilshire, do it! My current favorite Epiphone, and I'm an Epiphone junkie.
I just ordered the Crestwood custom , they are similar are they not ?
Yep! Same body, but the Crestwood has mini buckers and a trem system. The Wilshire is P90s, hard tail.
Very smart decision!! 👍🏼
Michael Neal In my opinion, he should have stated that in the video as the ‘59 is the best of the Epiphone LP line atm.
My favorite Epiphone is a Firebird Studio, a Mahogany body Guitar, with steinberger tuners and alnico V humbuckers
Great video! But the first guitar in the video was also a 50's Standard (Tobacco Burst) when you were talking about the 60's Standard.
I've owned 6 Gibsons and 1 Epiphone since I started playing . The only one I regret selling was the Epi .
Just bought the Gold top Traditional Pro IV push pull pots grover turners epihone humbuckers all came standard love it
Great video intheblues epiphone have came a long way.
Epiphone has really stepped things up
I’ve got a ‘94 Epi LP.
Waiting on mine , next week can’t wait.
I’m worried about the fat neck though. I have small hands. Should I worry ?
i own an epi les paul special 2, emphasis on the 2! i got it for $99.99 + tax 6 years ago, have heavily modified it. love it!
i also own an epi sg, with MAESTRO VIBROLA.
so sweet!
but one you didn’t mention, my favorite if i have one, an epi es-339 PRO (with splittable humbuckers in both positions. if i could have only one, that’d be the one!
I have the Epiphone 59 Limited Edition, the best guitar I’ve ever owned including Gibsons.
Clearly the guy is oblivious to that guitar.
The Japanese Elite model Riviera. Stunning.
I thought the Custom might have got a mention, it really is a great guitar.
Especially with the ebony fret board now, great finish, pickups and pots and the headstock change. Why even buy the gibson?
No kidding eh
I own the 2020 Epiphone Black Beauty Les Paul and it’s a fantastic guitar. I also own the Joe Bonamassa Custom 3 pickup Black Beauty Les Paul as well. Fantastic guitars and both under $800. For the JB you get the hardcase too.
@@skittlybeepbop13 even if you change the pickups on the Epi, you are still way ahead in the game. My Epi BB custom Les Paul is a great guitar.
Epiphone 1976 Texan 12 string was my first guitar given to me by my Father’s best friend in 1985
I still have it love it the only issue over 40 years is the neck has warped.
I got an es 339 this winter and Def a player just like the 335...plays great
The Epi Old Glory model should be on that list.
That's a signature model, not a regular line model.
My 2020 classic is the best Epiphone I’ve owned so far. Cheaper than the standard models but it’s not a downgrade imo. The alnico classic pro pickups are great and I prefer them over the pro buckers.
