i love Jackie's reaction to Shadow's nips. I always think she is telling him to stop. They are always fun to watch and your efforts to share them with us are much appreciated, Cali.
jacquicoder-- You are correct. S nips at bottom of J's wing feathers are for attention not for delivering affection. I raised a pet crow. Head and Neck are two best zones for delivering and attracting affection. the lower on body one goes, more negative the response. Feet are the worst/best for attracting a quick return response . My guy was like a dog--just loved hand/finger caresses on head and neck feathers.
S seems to like seeing how close he can come to Simba's limb while carrying a limb to the nest. This evening was no different than last nite. J came in a few compass points to the east, straight in to land on nest beside S. Civility was the order of the late afternoon visit along with some affectionate Nips by S on J's folded wings.
These two are exceptionally beautiful 🥰(maybe I'm biased, I live about 118m away and this is my 1st nest starting with Spirit 💖) I was cracking up at Shadow's nips and Jackie's reaction to them 🤣
Hello my handsome couple. Looking good My prayers that the good Lord up above.Watch over them & protect. Thank u for the video cam.Love & kisses to both of them ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I couldn't stick around last night to watch more, so I'm glad you posted this! Maybe they're leaving the pine cones for upcoming holiday decorations? Hahaha! Another RT2, huh? That might explain why some nights we don't see them in the RT1. Now we know where to look!
the Nest sits below a significant amt of Pine tree foilage and pine cones are propagated on the ends of branches and fall off the branch edge when ready--as fruit from a tree does in an orchard. Some of these pine cones land in the Nest.
Would someone please tell me why this nest never has a lot of "Fluff" in the nest bowl. It never looks as comfy as other eagle nests that I watch. Is it because there isn't that kind of nesting material to be found in the area of this nest?
Comparing to Florida Eagles Jackie and shadow look sparkling clean is it their constant fish diet?the clean air? Or is it the cam recorder? I just love them and wish them lots of luck 🍀this coming season🙏💙🦅🦅
I am surprised Shadow isn’t moving those smaller sticks that are cluttering the nest bowl to start building rails up. It also seems they both aren’t into getting that nest ready just yet. I did notice that one of them (closest to cam view), bowed its head way down looking at the nest bowl. They looked sad. Isn’t that where a non-viable egg was buried ??
You know I had said the same thing a couple of times. Someone did respond to me and said Shadow is a little slow on the mating but that is what she noticed last time they mated. Well, I'm praying for eaglets. 🤞🦅🦅❤
pjb12025--last comment first --all animals(including our feathered E Pair here) live in the present--it's a full time job--day and night to keep being 'Gobbled Up' by others and finding food for themselves and their young.(2) Nest Rails. This Nest is very large--at least 5 ' in Dia. and plenty large enough for young eaglets to judge where the Edges of Nest are. J & S don't seem to feel the need for large sapling like outer rails like the Eagles elsewhere do to Corral their young in much smaller nests. Eaglets rarely fall from Nests thru their own fault--if they do fall, it's because of a nest hidden flaw that gives away under them.
Was Jackie trying to tell Shadow to mate with her? She put her head down about 3 times, but he did nothing. I know Shadow is not an exhibitionist so he would rather do those things off camera, LOL!!!
Shadow probably says to himself, "She'll never know it was me." Proceeds to nip Jackie. Jackie's like, "Huh? What was that?" Shadow's like, "Here, let me get her again." Proceeds to nip Jackie a second time. Jackie stands at attention, beak in the air and declares, "That's enough, mister!"
with all the madness going on in the world at the moment its so nice to sit back and watch these 2 work on the nest. thanks cali

The pine cones are a nice fall touch🍁

Great minds think alike.

Time for some nice soft bedding. Those sticks not comfy. 😕
Pinecones add a nice Fall decor for J & S ❤
The first year Shadow was obsessed with pine cones. He kept bringing them to the nest 😅
Love the reaction from Jackie when Shadow was nipping at her. Love 💖💖 these two!!
The pine cones. Yes. Wonder how long Jackie will let the cones stay😊

Shadow is such a flirt… 🦅💘🦅 Jackie play’n a lil hard to get. I love them🥰😍
How did the pine cones get there?

I saw the same, it looked like she was listening for something?? Just my impression :-)
I meant healthy and clean.😂

Eggs soon??
So are they mating now?
That nest does not look comfortable! Hardly a center cushiony area! HaHa
how are THE BEST PARENTS EVER??? 🤍🤍🦅🦅
