The anime Fate Stay night was incredible, but With this ost made it special, i mean sounds so beautiful, specially when Shiro is with Saber, as if transmitting great, sad , will and of course love.
“All this time... you were my scabbard... weren’t you Shirou?” This music was so fantastic. It really brought out the emotion for these characters. The Fate soundtracks today are amazing themselves but somehow the 06 ost brings about a certain feeling that doesn’t quite express Fate/Unlimited Blade Works. I won’t count Fate/Zero because in my opinion it did better than Fate/Stay Night as a sequel rather than an alternate route.
Only if this music will appear in Ufotable's remake though. Otherwise I'll just stick with Studio Deen's version of "Fate". I've never read the visual novels nor do I care about them so whether it's entirely true to the visual novel's route or not doesn't really even matter to me.
Divine Aria DEEN fucked up the moment they didn't follow the VN. The VN already set the story, adaptations can make little changes but going out of their way to add plotlines that's not from the OG route will definitely destroy the adaptation. Ugh, the fact that you said that you never read the VN and said that it's ok if they didn't stay true to the VN really shows that anime only viewers never knew how the original story progressed. The VN is amazing, the anime adaptation of F/SN are all shit, none of them even comes close to the VN.

This song will always be epic. If they ever remake the Fate route, I'd love for the studio to use it again. This melody accompanying such an important plot moment is what gave it a distinct, unique epicness that other adaptations couldn't reach. The song is nostalgic and timeless, it matches the symbolism in the Celtic theme of a powerful scabbard giving magical power to the sword it keeps. Shirou and Saber's relationship evokes that ancient folklore with a wonderful twist of traditional gender roles, and I'll always love Fate Route for that. That dynamic is unique to them, it's what makes their relationship so special. Like, Kiritsugu using Avalon to save Shirou really turned him into what Saber needed in terms of dynamics, preferences and leaving the past behind. I love it when things come full circle. Nasu did his homework 100% well.
