Hi and thanks for tuning in! Our UA-cam channel was recently switched to a brand account from a personal one and some past comments were lost as a result. Please ask any questions you have and we’ll get to them as quickly as possible, thanks again for watching and please don’t forget to hit like, subscribe, and enjoy!
He works at a rally school and isn't a Subaru guy? That's got to be a first lol but it's refreshing to see you guys embracing the "slower" more base model cars.
You wouldn't want a school car when we're done with it haha. But we do build and service rally cars, check out the website sometime if you're interested.
10:33 this is the car I'm most interested in. not the ST, but the built NA hatch. people are getting 140-150ish wheel with cams and 12:1 pistons and ofc proper mapping. this engine is actually pretty sweet considering the range of power it's capable of producing.
The impreza wagon and saloon differ more than just a bit more glass and sheet metal. The track is wider in the saloon which makes them more stable hense why the saloon is used far more than the wagon. But he's not a Subaru guy so I'll let him off 😉 great video though guys, always enjoy watching your material 👍
I didn't say the parts weren't interchangeable.... but there are some things that are different that cannot be interchanged.... as I said the track is wider on the saloon and the lower arms are different. I know because I've had both and had to replace them.... wings, doors and so on are interchangeable to some degree but the rear saloon doors would look stupodnon a wagon as they are flaired to match the co yours of the saloon wheel arches which the wagon does not have... just saying....
Do you disable the ABS in the Fiesta? and do you also disconnect the front sway bar? Have a fiesta too, and would like to make it to rotate easier when left foot braking
So if for stage rally you gotta be street legal. How many of these cars are registered and insured? Do you guys have some kind of gnarly multicar insurance policy? Overall very cool fleet. When Im done with college I want to figure out some funding to pay you guys a visit and hopefully my career can afford me to be competitive in rally. I recently built a sim and have really been enjoying it. I'm completing more and more stages first try and feel like im getting faster everytime I get on it. Hopefully my passion for rally (Having never done it IRL) and experience in the sim rig will help me along down the road in real life.
Those are all great options, but the big thing with those cars is going to be the rear suspension... With small FWD cars, manufacturers need to keep as much trunk/hatch cargo space as possible. They do this by making the rear suspension pretty small, sometimes there's some weird geometry because they have to fit it in a small space, usually there's not much suspension travel at all. Just make sure there is some kind of good option for whatever platform you decide to go with.
I have a 2018 Fiesta SE, where do you guys get your parts from. I'm really interested in the full underbody skid plates? Please please please point me in the best direction...
Why do you use the hatchback fiesta and never the sedan? There aren't any hatchbacks near me but plenty of sedans, just wondering if there's some difference
TeamONeilRally thanks for the info. By the way, I didn’t see any non turbo Impreza from 08 or after, is this because they are less cost effective or some other reasons?
All hail the Audi Sport Quattro S1. Bow to the Audi Sport Quattro S1. Nothing besides or above the Audi Sport Quattro S1 Most magnificent piece of awesomeness ever devised by man!
I know you guys are a rally school but do you guys to rally builds for people. If not who would you recommend to get work done like skidplate, roll cage, safety, tires & wheels, just general rally prep? Also, do you guys sell old vehicles?
I have a manual fiesta, where can I learn how to deactivate stability systems my self? My car forces me to understeer wide with a wobbly brake controlled system when I hit the groomed dirt roads even with TCS off through the console.
dallin prisbrey I haven't tried removing fuses in the Fiesta, it's not that pressing of an issue. It's a Fiesta sedan, I know it is not an ST, but I am uncertain of the model designation.
Cool selection and this place looks great for advanced training but for beginners I would recommend dirtfish if you already have to travel, they provide a ton of value. Plus they only train with STI's (AWD) and BRZ (RWD) which are fairly good at delivering those o-shit moments.
No. Team O'Neil Rally school is the best in the country. You obviously don't know much about rallying considering FWD is the best to learn on for a beginner. Ask any Pro rally racer. They always say start off with FWD.
I have 16 miles of dirt road from town to home.. fastest car for that road that I had was a 1984 Toyota tercel wagon, 4x4, mostly in FWD mode, 1985 Rx7 was about a minute slower at best, way more power than what gravel road can handle.. and another minute slower is my Dodge dually diesel truck, again, way more power than what the dirt can handle, but super fun too
If you see most professionals in any stage or cross they use compact cars and what you say dirt i have i say dirt doesnt really have much at all in terms of training in a series
I think everybody gets the chance to learn on every kind of car (FWD, AWD, RWD) and it's probably a popular place to be judging by how awesome it is. Gotta have enough cars to serve the masses
im suprised that fiestas are your main vhicle, ive never thought of ford fwd cars as being reliable or rally worthy. I know they do show up in rallys allot but i always assumed that was because ford was sponsering it, not because they were actually good cars inherently. why not 90's civics? decent power, verry simple to work on (base is sohc but cross flow and 4 valves per cylinder) double a-arms on all corners, lots of swap potential, many out there in manual and even often have manual steering.
90s Civics are great! Plenty of people rally them, but up here in NH we have so much salt on the roads... we'd have to import them from down south or out west.
We use Bilstein HDs and heavy duty springs, and build the skid plates in-house. They're basically just rollbar tubing supports and 1/4" aluminum skidplates.
@@Teamoneilrally Oh ok Thank You! I currently have coilovers and Koni yellows, if I put them at a softer setting and raise the coilovers do you think they might work for entry level stuff?
Yup you'll be fine as long as it's not crazy rough! Some rallycross events are literally run in a field. It can get pretty bad by the end, but you can always usually pick a smooth line if you need to.

Do you still use Bilstien suspension? I was informed my Koni that team O neil uses their Yellow sport shocks now.
Most Audi 4000 Quattros I've ever seen in one place!
He works at a rally school and isn't a Subaru guy? That's got to be a first lol but it's refreshing to see you guys embracing the "slower" more base model cars.
slow is smooth and smooth is fast
Therefore slow is fast? yeah!
clayton8or_2 no, you learn slow and become smooth and then you become faster. that way you drive smoothly and precisely.
James Cooper I wasnt being literal, i understood the concept originally.
oh, sorry:/
Do you guys ever sell your old rally cars like the VW's? or just drive them until they are beat?
You wouldn't want a school car when we're done with it haha. But we do build and service rally cars, check out the website sometime if you're interested.

Gotta love those wagon Imrpezas
that 5cyl audi is so interesting, i want to swap my 06 mazda 6 for it.
5cyl are awesome and sound amazing
The sound is really weird and kind of cool and they have tons of torque for just 5 cils
The newer 2.5 5cyl is actually really nice when tuned up too. You can get them cheap in newer Golf, Jetta, Passat and some Audi’s.
A neighbor has 2 audi 4000 quattros and they sound so good. I didn't know exactly what it was until recently.
Any specific year or model of the fiesta you guys would recommend?

Oll Smith wrong. you can use doors and bumpers from either model interchangeably

you guys are my idolssssss. so many subarus
I cant watch this. These old audis and bmws are so beautiful. No idea how you'd even acquire one now
I wanna drive a gc8 one day, my absolute dream car
Can you make a build series? Please
Do you disable the ABS in the Fiesta? and do you also disconnect the front sway bar?
Have a fiesta too, and would like to make it to rotate easier when left foot braking
I'm pretty sure the FiST has an open diff and uses torque vectoring / brake system.
touché
Do you guys have any car with the steering on the other side ? Thanks.
Hey do we get to a ESRS video when we are up there?
A 93-98 Celica would be a good starter rally car right?
If you find someone that builds an FIA approved rollcage for it sure go for it
Damn I really got to go there soon.
I love that Escape is it possible to make that score and FIA to be able to do both.?
No mitsubishi evo lancer?

Would a Honda Civic Si work as well as a Ford Fiesta? Or Honda Fit/Toyota Yaris?

I really want to get into rally racing and try to eventually participate in WRC events but I don’t have the money to get into it.
Can you use a honda civic platform? Or ford focus st?
Great tour of the cars, thanks, not jealous...;)
wait... I heard this place is in the 603? I live in NH I gotta go here and check it out
How much for one of the green fiestas?
I have a 2018 Fiesta SE, where do you guys get your parts from. I'm really interested in the full underbody skid plates? Please please please point me in the best direction...
14:52 those engines are problematic though. it would be interesting to see how yall get it sorted for reliability if possible.
How would a 2005 subaru legacy work as a rally car?
15:20 They're called Ford Cargo trucks in Brazil and probably somewhere else
You can't have a rally school without a mk 2 escort powered by a millington xD
the daddy the mk 2 that makes the Forrest sing 😂👍
I wish we has a rally school like yours here close to Chicago. If anyone's aware of one please let me know :).
Why do you use the hatchback fiesta and never the sedan? There aren't any hatchbacks near me but plenty of sedans, just wondering if there's some difference
What belstein coilover in exactly do you have on those fiesta S t's??
Can you give the specs of the brakes/suspension/wheels on the Focus RS?
How much does a week cost? Is food and lodging available?
There are a couple options, check out www.teamoneil.com for all the particulars
Are these Subarus just base models of impreza or wrx/sti?
TeamONeilRally thanks for the info. By the way, I didn’t see any non turbo Impreza from 08 or after, is this because they are less cost effective or some other reasons?

What engine the fiestas run?
plant V probably the n/a 1.6
I have a manual fiesta, where can I learn how to deactivate stability systems my self? My car forces me to understeer wide with a wobbly brake controlled system when I hit the groomed dirt roads even with TCS off through the console.
ST or regular? i know if you hold down ESC for a while on my ST you can turn off most electronic controls
hmushmann2 start removing fuses. Don't actually try that though
dallin prisbrey I haven't tried removing fuses in the Fiesta, it's not that pressing of an issue. It's a Fiesta sedan, I know it is not an ST, but I am uncertain of the model designation.
No evos ?
Abhilash Jr Evos are great, but fragile and expensive. Not to mention they made more Subarus so Evo parts are harder to get
Oh. my dad has 3 of them.
6,8&9 all wrc cars
good for him
Abhilash Jr lying sack of 💩
What in the Samhill are anal beads? Will they boost the performance of my vehicle?
Those XJ's are highly sought after now.
So what happens if a student crashes one of the cars, does the student have to pay something for the repairs?
There are no hidden charges for car damages, but we do have a few lovely pink helmets...
So thats where the GC 2.5rs's i want to buy are going!
Insane collection..... Unlimited fun generators :D those reach asses' Ferrari crap just fades.....
What are the wheel specs on the blobeye and bug eye?
Some 2.5 and some WRX, all manual, stock except suspension, rollcages, skidplates.
What’s the greenhouse in the background?
That's just a storage tent, mostly wheels and tires.

Any of those Audis.
Please tell me what wheels those are on the FiSTs?
and also the actual name of the Bilstein suspension on them?
or the name of the reiger suspension lol
godfatherscar method race wheels and the stock steel wheels
Thank you very much sir! For other FiST owners interested, they are Method Race MR501 VT-Spec 4x108mm lug 15x7's, these are the silvers it looks like.
Yo Wyatt!
Nice
Why you need so many cars?
I think everybody gets the chance to learn on every kind of car (FWD, AWD, RWD) and it's probably a popular place to be judging by how awesome it is. Gotta have enough cars to serve the masses
Whats the pink helmet???
Could I please have that silver bugeye wagon at the beginning of the vid? Thanks in advance. ;)

i will coming to nh only for rallying lessons.
Sad to see not a single French or Italian car!
There are not many here in the USA
Bummed Mitsubishi fans down here
uuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
Military training? Is this guy G.I. Joe?
I have a 91 E30, What suspension setup and skid plate do you use on your cars?
