I heard them live in Krakow and immediately bought two CD's. Also, when they later came to Finland I of course went to see and hear them again. One of them also played a stool like a drum! Gorgeous music, great artists, awesome consert!
This is the coolest thing I've ever heard! Searching for all kinds of music from all kinds of places has given me the best algorithm. UA-cam can be wonderful.
I was looking for some Polish music and found this by chance, fell in love with it and with the group immediately. Can you believe it? They played live in my city a couple of days later but I found out the day after. I felt like crying... I agree with most of the comments. It takes you away from real world :)
From the moment I heard it for the first time it got stuck in my head. Every time I hear it I get transferred to some other peaceful, nostalgic, a little sad but also full of hope world. Make you stop in everyday race and think and feel something. Excellent.
I recently found a piece of yellowing paper with some names and titles written on it. I remember making the list 21 years ago when I was a student - I had been listening to a late night music programme on the BBC called 'Late Junction'. They obviously impressed me. Most of the names mean nothing to me now, and very few of the titles either. So I have decided to find them all and listen to them to see if they still impress. 'Time' is the first I have found. I am still impressed!
Amazing - that's where I first heard it too (BBC Radio 3, if I'm not mistaken) and also wrote it down but fortunately I didn't wait 21 years, and bought the CD shortly afterwards! I was reminded of it at a live gig tonight, and came straight home and played it again for the first time in a couple of years: it still reminds me of that magical first hearing all those years ago - including that wayward flute! . . .
@@ravenstrobe It was indeed Radio 3! I have found most of the other pieces listed on my scrap of paper, but can't find the studio version of a piece called 'Corruscating' by John Surman. I remember being particularly taken with it and would love to hear it again!
Beautiful music. I gave this interpretation: it retraces all the phases of sleep, as the hours go by, the deepest stages of consciousness, the REM phase, the most hidden aspects, until slowly the world of the living is started again, touching the deepest notes of the psyche ... As long as an alarm with its sound brings consciousness back into reality, the unconscious is silent. Conscious activity starts again ... a new day begins.
Thank you, Renato, for posting this. Obviously this is a well-known group, but I'd never heard of them. I now have a new favourite group and genre of music.
A good old favorite! I just found out I have to miss listening to this one on Spotify! It used to be there...The version of the ‘feelharmony’ doesn’t touch the same feeling at all.
Pamiętam, byliśmy cudowne przeżycie, tyle miesięcy później słuchane sprawia, że człowiek wraca pamięcią do tamtego koncertu, Peter Gabriel, Anna Maria Jopek i Kroke, wspaniałe przeżycie.
According to the Kroke website, this was released in 1999 on their album "The Sounds of Vanishing World." The earliest Boban Markovic version I can find was recorded in 2004. It may (or may not) be based on a traditional klezmer song, but I have not heard anything earlier (or by anybody else.)
slavonico i maybe wrong but i think just one little bit of music is from a Serbian movie called Petrijin venac...maybe I am wrong but soon as heard it i though abot that movie. It was a long time I watch it.
I have heard the Boban Markovic version so many times - by them and many other bands, but i am so glad to have finally found the original! This is a beautiful song that stays in my head....
Yes, as far as I can tell from a few mentions - Markovic heard the group Kroke play it at a festival and he then arranged it for his band. (Sorry if the Google translation is wrong!) Sì, per quanto posso dire da un Menzioni pochi - Markovic sentito il Kroke gruppo di suonare ad un festival e ha poi organizzato per la sua band. (Scusate se la traduzione di Google è sbagliato!)
No other version of this masterpiece is like this version.....that's the best🥰🥰🥰
Moja ulubiona wersja tej piosenki.
Natrafiłem na nich oglądając jubileuszowy koncert Andrzeja Sikorowskiego, gdzie akompaniowali Maji Sikorowskiej. Wspaniała grupa!
Heard them twice live: once in Krakow Poland, once in Antwerp Belgium. Unforgettable!

Original and by far best version! Love the wayward flute at the end!
I just love it. When I was a kid I went to most of their concerts. Such a nostalgic rythm
From the moment I heard it for the first time it got stuck in my head. Every time I hear it I get transferred to some other peaceful, nostalgic, a little sad but also full of hope world. Make you stop in everyday race and think and feel something. Excellent.
Genialne! A może nie? W końcu Z KRAKOWA!
Now
This is such a gorgeous piece of music - lazy, melancholy even, but it loosens the spine and puts a gentle sway into all but the most frigid of hips.
great music!
