I wound up with a Orpington rooster not by choice. But he's such a sweetheart and he's really turning into a beautiful bird. He started crowing at about 4 weeks old. Now about 10 or 11 weeks and he still sux at it. lol He'll figure it out sooner or later. Think my Marans boys are pressuring him to get with the program. lol
She is just developing the pecking order, just shoo her away so she knows you are the top of the pecking order. My city, you can have chickens as long as your neighbor don't complain but you can't have any roosters. My neighbor had 3 hens but they were too noisy so she had to get rid of them(I guess one of the other neighbors complained).
Interesting! That totally makes sense now that I think about it. 😅 I have been shooting her away or I totally pick her up to stop her from pecking my foot
In a hot day like that give them plenty of water with ice.
